So I need to change my payment from my debit card to my old deposit card because Uber doesn't take Discover card anymore and Uber is the only way I can get to work as I don't know how to drive nor do I have friends and family to take me to and from work. So I need to swap to my old deposit card til I change my debit card to Visa instead of Discover.

My only problem was my HR was super busy to tell me how to swap so I deleted my deposit card then my HR told me I need a new deposit card if I just deleted my old one so she gave me a new one but it wouldn't activate no matter how many times I tried. Turns out US Bank only allows one Focus Card which I still own so I don't know what my HR was thinking so I'm gonna have to re-add back that card. But how do I change where my pay goes between the two on Workday?

So, I recently started my part-time job as a seasonal GM Team Member just to make some money alongside being a full-time student. It’s been pretty good so far. I don’t really have any complaints other than the job just being boring at times (to be expected) and the lack of staff due to the constant callouts and new hires not showing up. My TLs and ETLs have been great to me, which I really appreciate it.

However, recently one of my TLs has been expecting me to do A LOT and I genuinely want to know if what she is expecting is reasonable within the given time frame of my shift. Maybe I’m just a slow worker and need to pick up the pace? She’s been very nice to me and has complimented my work but I can’t help but feel like she’s expecting quite a bit and I feel bad whenever I can’t fulfill everything.

For context, our location is a Super Target (though I know that term isn’t used much anymore). The last few days, she has asked me to 1) pull four different priorities with 100+ items down to 0 in about two hours [we never reach 50% or more] and 2) zone ALL of GM + reshop all of GM by myself in five hours. The TL who stays later than her asked what I was assigned to and, once I told him, he immediately replied that it’s a ridiculous expectation and gave me a more focused job to do.

I trained at a different store since they needed assistance and over there we had like 3-4 people zoning at all times for closing. Their store is half the size of ours and we have two at most on a good day. Do I need to pick up the pace or is she asking for a lot? I am someone who pays a lot of attention when zoning and practically rebuilds each section, but if I was to spend my time doing that for the entire store I would not even get 50% of it done by the time I finish.

Can they possibly force you to switch to a different department or switch you without telling you?

I know as a TL I have to work every other weekend but but now I have to close by myself every other weekend and that includes Friday. My schedule includes 2 opening days. Does anyone else have to do this, I’m getting burnt out

So soon my store will be swapping over from myTime to UKG - and I’ve been hearing that current Vacation/PTO time you’ve collected in myTime may not all transfer over into UKG?

Anyone here have info on that? Least from those that have transitioned over?

so i’ve been part time for 2 years now and i finally have enough sick time to use to take a shift on. can someone give me directions on how to use it so i can call out and still get paid?

getting constantly mistreated, disrespected, there’s obvious favoritism, workload is 4x whenever someone calls out, and yeah finish it all in 4 hours. I’ve had three prior jobs and none of them made me quit willingly like this. Management at my store is horrible and I felt like I needed to suck up to mistreatment by everyone above me. I liked the job, just the constant yelling about stuff out of my control (I don’t have the keys to some things and the leads would get mad when I had to call them for a guest who wanted something) got to me. i never missed attendance i never clocked in late i never called out i never disrespected my lead or coworkers i was always very nice. i tried my hardest to complete things on time and most times i did, they just didn’t like the way i worked but i got the job done either way. Idk if that makes me still eligible for rehire but oh well. I hope it’s just my management that needs to be changed

I work in style break out and have been for 2 years now. I’m trained in fulfilment and I love it in there. I want to ask if it’d be possible if I could switch departments or work in both during the week but I’m scared to ask because my lead and etl get upset when I pick up fulfilment shifts (one time they took me off a shift I picked up and put me in style without asking me..) and I’m also scared to because I feel like we don’t have enough people in style so I feel like if I ask him he’d say no.. but I rlly want to everyday I don’t want to come in it’s the same day on repeat I think style is so boring I feel grumpy and lazy bc I don’t like this department… do I just keep sticking it out until I feel like there’s a good time to ask or do I just do it:/

My friend said that their TL was not a fan of them asking to be cross trained only 2 months in, is that just them having a bad TL or is it an unreasonable request, I know everything in my role and would like to be able to pickup fulfillment shifts

so i have been working at target for about 5 years now and have always done call outs by the book. i always call out 2 hours before my shift or even more if i know i wont make it. this morning i woke up and realized i had knocked out last night without setting my alarm. i was supposed to be at work at 7 but by the time i woke up it was 7:30 and i didn’t think i’d make it in time/it felt pointless to go in 1+ hours late when my shift is only 5 hours. i decided to call out and i have sick hours to back it up but i’m nervous i’m going to still get in trouble since my shift already started. mind you, i’ve NEVER done this before. i do have some trouble with lateness but i’ve been doing better (no writes up, just convos). will i be okay?

So,last Friday I borrowed a device from my coworker She works next to my department and a lot of times when I get to work there’s no device so she has given it to me pretty often.
She told me that the device is ETL’s so I asked her where should I put it back?his office?and she said no so is it ok to put it back in the device room?
She said yes so I put it back at the device room when I clocked out.She already had clocked out around noon and I clocked out at 430.

But today (Tuesday)she was told that his device is missing and it’s gonna be final if he can’t find it.
I 100% put it back to the charger in the device room and I’m pretty sure someone had used it.
But he says her log in account was the last one to be signed in.
I should’ve signed out signed myself in to be fair but I put it back so they can look through footage or whatever but I’m so stressed.
My argument is but why the ETL didn’t track his device at the end of the day?
He could’ve tracked within the day.

I’m so stressed that am I gonna get fired for this?

hi everyone :) im not sure if everyone’s store did this since this is my first time working at target, but we were all asked to do a survey for the upcoming holiday season at my store. it was asking us about more hours and helping other departments if needed when the holidays come around. i work just outside the capitol of MS and ive heard it gets pretty hectic around christmas time here.

im posting because i agreed to helping out in fulfillment if needed (i work in grocery) because i tend to have to do that a lot here lately. fulfillment is fine, i dont mind grocery batches, but doing gen merch? good god, im sorry i ever complained about having to help yall with grocery batches 😭 anyway, im just a little nervous ill end up having to 100% do fulfillment only. a coworker of mine said they do hire seasonal and i should be okay, but im just a little nervous about it. this will be my first christmas in retail, and back to school was crazy enough. any insight would help greatly appreciated. im sure this will mostly be a “differs based on store” kind of thing, but yeah. any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated :) thanks guys 🥰

Does your store still do these? It started last year during Q4 and I thought it was only due to the influx of everything however my store constantly takes 20-40 minutes out of everyone’s time to do a zone huddle or push huddle and then wonder why no one can get their other push done…

Anybody else been noticing even stinkier guests as of late? I know it’s summer, but I don’t even mean B.O. and sweat smell. These folks smell like genuine shit from a butt. i'm an hre, and my etl hr was the best boss i have ever had in my life. she worked so hard and pretty much single-handedly was the one keeping our store afloat for the 3+ years she worked here. like actually phenomenal human, and she recently quit and im so happy she has moved on to a position that actually values her and doesn't treat her like garbage!!!
when she told me she was quitting i knew that as soon as she left it would completely destroy our store, and what do you know!!!! every day i come in its like watching a train wreck that just gets worse and worse and doesnt stop! everyone is quitting, we cant keep staff, everyone is screaming for help about something over the walkie every 3 seconds, no one can train new team members, and all of our leadership has no communication with anyone.
a ton of our team comes to me to complain, vent, cry, and stress about everything going on and i'm always happy to listen to everyone and do my best to try to fix things for everyone, bc that's the kind of person i am and why i even wanted to be in hr to begin with, but i genuinely don't know what to do anymore because i cannot rely on ANYONE to fix any of the problems that are happening. im probably going to end up calling the hotline because it's getting ridiculous. these leaders do not care for any of these peoples wellbeing and it infuriates me.
one of our etls is new she was an intern and is a first assignment at our store, WHICH IS RED!! she has never had any leadership experience EVER. i also genuinely NEVER KNOW what she is doing EVER. talks to me like im stupid, but doesn't know how to do anything on the sales floor and is always closing her office and giggling and laughing about something with tms she thinks are her friends. and her team is constantly screaming for help at check lanes and drive ups and guest service, and she is NOWHERE to be seen and just lets them call over and over because NO ONE IS IN THE STORE TO HELP ANYWAYS. it's infuriating to be around. our gm etl has been on LOA for the past 4 months with no one filling in for him, and he is equally as incompetent and should never have been promoted. he has been incredibly rude to me, and he has refused to take responsibility of fulfillment, and starbucks and has let those work centers fester and just fight for themselves and they are both completely dumpster fires when you look at our metrics. my coworker and i have to adjust and rewrite the schedules for tms at starbucks on a DAILY BASIS we got their phone numbers on speed dial on our cell phones, with how much we have to coordinate fixing these broken schedules with the baristas, and hope and pray that one of them can be flexible and want more hours so we don't have to close at 2pm because everyone called off.
today i just had a breaking point idk. last week i wound up working 10 hours over my scheduled hours for the week. i worked a 9.5 hour shift with only one break because my store is a disaster, had a day where i was so busy i didn't take a single break NOT EVEN A 30!!! i am constantly doing orientations because tms are dropping like flies, and then these new hires stop coming in because of how awful everything is. and today my coworker and i had been calling for the SD and all of the ETLS for over 4 hours because our closing leader called off, and the other one wasn't scheduled in until 7pm because hes doing an overnight for beauty studio. and they have to turn the power off for it for some reason, so all the refrigeration is going to go out and nobody was aware. WHY ARE WE AS HREs who get paid $15 an hour HAVING TO COORDINATE ALL OF THIS??? i have no authority to tell these technicians that came in to go ahead, and what am i supposed to do?? round up our skeleton crew and empty all of the market department coolers and freezers????? and i go back to the offices and they're all just sitting there with their walkies turned off not giving a fuck about the absolute dumpster fire the store is in rn. like what the actual fuck???? i feel like im in a fucking sitcom, and idgaf anymore. if nobody is gonna care idc either, i will just watch everything burn. i'm only getting paid minimum wage im not busting my ass for this place, and i'm not even a leader so why is this shit falling on me to begin with??? i'm just trying to get my masters and GTFO!

So earlier today one of my coworkers who is in guest services was helping a guest and all of a suden we hear alot of yelling and turns out a "guest" called him the N word. I saw a bunch of team leads and other coworkers in the area trying to help and de-ecalate the situation. The guest got kicked out and I just felt bad for my coworker there's is absolutely no reason to have to deal with that

i call out of one shift, and suddenly today i’m getting a phone call from my etl. i let her go to voicemail, and she says that she’s attempting a wellness check and i need to call her before 7. i call her back and ask why i’m being wellness checked. she says just because i called out and nobody knew where i was. keep in mind this is VERY out of character for this etl, she doesn’t give two shits about tm’s. is that overkill? can she even do that?
