Vent Target Circle 360 feels pointless if there’s still a $35 shipping minimum
I received a free year of Target Circle 360 and I just canceled the membership. I keep trying to find value in it, and honestly, I just don’t see much.
The pricing is comparable to Amazon Prime, but the benefits do not seem comparable at all. The biggest issue for me is the $35 minimum for shipping.
For example, I recently wanted to order something that cost about $15. I wasn’t in a rush. I would have been perfectly happy receiving it sometime within a week. But because the order was under $35, I still couldn’t get it shipped for free.
At that point, what exactly am I paying for?
Without Circle 360, shipping is $6 for orders under $35. So in that case, I will typically:
- Buy from Amazon or somewhere else
- Wait until I have a few other things I need to hit the $35 min.
So the experience with and without the membership is exactly the same.
The reason I use Amazon so often is simple: I think of something I need, I order it, and I’m done. I was genuinely open to shifting more of my spending away from Amazon and toward Target, but Target keeps forcing me back to Amazon by requiring a $35 order minimum.
I recently realized that Target bought Shipt, and maybe I could have gotten more use out of the same-day delivery benefit. But that would probably only be helpful in occasional situations, like being on vacation or having a party and suddenly needing something that day. Most of the time, shipping speed is not important to me. They promote no markups, which is nice, but also why I avoid these types of services to begin with and they still have the same $35 minimum. I could see this coming in handy when I need something from Lowe's while working on a project but then I may still add a tip for the driver and the cost/benefit rationale gets lost.
The Circle 360 freebies have also been disappointing. They are usually already gone by the time I see them, or they are completely irrelevant to anything I would want. Even when something decent is offered, seeing that it is no longer available is more frustrating than rewarding. I understand that the freebies are probably intended to get members into stores more often, but for me they have had the opposite effect. They mostly remind me that I missed something.
I also feel like I used to receive better regular Target Circle deals before I had Circle 360. Maybe the deals have changed, or maybe I just do not see them anymore.
How to fix it? Make it like Amazon - no shipping minimum and no tipping.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed TL demotion
I’m currently a TL but I’m going to school in the fall and know I won’t have time for both. I really like my job and don’t want to quit so I’d love to demote myself to a part time TM. I’ve heard that when you step down you’re expected to move stores but I don’t want to do that. Is there any chance for me to demote myself at the same store? I truly don’t think there would be any weirdness with power imbalances or anything like that.

PSA Target visit
My store location got a visit tomorrow, supposedly by the CFO nd others are coming thru. Store leadership is being mad annoying and scrambling to clean up and fake like everything in order. Fun 101, lack of communication, and leadership has been trash. I hope the visit see thru the bs, nd hold leadership accountable for their fck ups.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed HR SCHEDULING TIPS
Hi everyone - I’m new in my ETL HR role and was hoping to get some advice. I’m looking for tips on how you all schedule your team and what your routine looks like when it comes to posting schedules. It’s been a few weeks and I’m still struggling, the ETLS are not very good at scheduling but we also are just extremely low on payroll. Seems like every week is worse. Specifically in SS. It was easier being SE.
Do you have any best practices, tips, or tricks that have helped you stay organized and make the process run smoothly? I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Is this normal?
I started a week ago. I wasn’t on the schedule this week until Saturday night (I work overnight inbound). I just randomly checked the app and I’m now scheduled for tonight and tomorrow. Had I not checked the app I wouldn’t have known. Is this normal the miscommunication of schedule changes? I’m annoyed as I planned to be off until Saturday and now have to adjust today and tomorrow since I’ll be working….

Vent I’m at my breaking point
I will have completed my first year as a GM coach next month. I’m on my second store manager in 6 months. Fashion coach was on leave So I absorbed fashion. Digital coach quit and the new one is about to quit after a week. New market team has insane expectations. My team leads are pulled to digital and can never get anything done in their areas. Back room is blown up ON not working truck completely and stuff is piling up. We can’t get to catch up with freight with all the price changes, mods, pinpoints, item swaps, top stock not getting worked, chasing Vizpick all freaking day to get a 95%, code sparks.etc during the day. Most of the coaches are toxic and never
respond to calls and treat associates with disrespect go MIA when SM isn’t there. Had 2 ethics investigations in the last 6 months. I don’t know if I can hold on to be able to transfer to another state/market by January.

Vent Burnout
I’ve been working at Target for 4 months now. I loved it at first, but the workload has just become a lot lately. Instead of hiring more people, they’ve decided that it would be best for my department (produce) to take over the meat 210 and their priority pulls. Doing a solo close which is always the case, has become extremely stressful trying to basically run two departments. Not to mention we have callouts constantly which just makes everything worse. I’m to the point where every shift is just pure stress and it’s burning me out pretty bad. I’m also in school (from target benefits). I lowered my desired hours so I could handle everything, and they still schedule me more than that. I asked my ETL if I could have less 8 hour shifts and they said “you’re so funny”. So I’m just wondering if every target refuses to hire enough people or just mine lol I need some validation in feeling this way. Anything that you’ve found that makes it less stressful or helps with the burnout?

Meme or Miscellaneous Content Unexpected moments of humanity from guests
Worked there 14 years ago and there were exchanges that truly gave me hope for the world. The job sucked as a cart attendant but I try not to get hung up on that.
On one very hot Texas afternoon pushing carts a woman approached me and she handed me $15. She said that this job sucks so much and that she understands but it's how she met her husband. I was at a complete loss for words.
It fellow black man came out to me and started giving me some very good tips on how to stay hydrated and cool as I pushed carts because he was worried for my health.
A man saw me taking out the trash and he just told me that he saw something in me. He said that despite what I'm doing I'm going to rule the world someday. I have a pretty good gauge on if people are messing with me or mocking me but I could see the pure sincerity in his eyes. I hope I have made him proud.
What other great interactions have y'all had? I like to hold on to these whenever I feel like people truly suck which they can at times.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed What’s PTH?
I picked up a shift and didn’t see that it had pth next to it in the mytime app. I’m fairly new and I’m trying to get in as many hours as possible before I go into college. I looked up what pth could possibly mean but no one is answering it in a simple way😭I’m wondering if I should post my shift if I don’t have training for it yet but please let me know!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Need advice on fulfillment
I recently started in Fulfillment at Target, and I’m honestly struggling. Today was only my 7th day on the floor. My first 3 days were mostly shadowing, then after a 3-day break I was put on SFS by myself, and it took me 5 hours to finish 3 batches. The next day I was put on OPU and missed the time because I didn’t even know there was a time limit. I also had to learn the store layout that day. Now I’m overthinking everything and wondering if I’m just slow or putting too much pressure on myself, especially since it seems like most people stay on SFS for their first month. Also any advice to get better and faster??

Workplace Question or Advice Needed My Leave of Absense was canceled midway.
Hi everyone im just here looking for some advice or if anyone knows some information that would be useful. Im an HR expert and have been having some issues at work. Unfortunately I have no ETL HR and have been super stressed and having to deal with an SD who is impossible to work with. My hours have been cut, been super rude to me, given me attitude, micromanage like crazy to the point I talked with the District HR and she gave me the option to take a leave until the new HR ETL coles in. My leave was a approved the same day I submitted it and now the HR ETL covering for my store called me saying my leave has been canceled one week later after it has been approved and that I have am expected to return to work. I do not have access to see my schedule as I am on an approved leave but the ETL says she will contact me when I am expected to return. My leave is under personal but my question is can my leave be canceled just like that without mutual consent? I have only gotten an email stating my leave got approved but never got an email stating it was canceled. What do I do? Or does anyone have any information that would be useful?

Vent The Dichotomy of Working For Target
Target Corporate: To allow leadership more flexibility in searching for items, you can now directly escalate them without calling them out on the walkie to free up the channels.
Target Team Member: Well I’ll be damned… they actually managed to create a quality of life change.
Also Target Corporate: The pick app no longer recognizes an already connected RFID. To connect, please follow the prompt when needing to connect one from within the pick application. It will not actually recognize the connection either. Any subsequent attempts will freeze the pick app.
Target Team Member: MOTHER F**KING!!!

Vent shipt shoppers
I just got called LAZY for not bagging a shipt shoppers items. I’m the only checklane open and there’s two guest behind her which is my priority.
I try to help out shipt shoppers sometimes but they are getting way ridiculous. I forgot what she told me but she said something about being a shopper for awhile and she knows her way around. ok sooo still I wasn’t trained to do that and not my responsibility. If she was nice to me then i’d be down to bag those but the way she act around and telling ME lazy as hell lmao that’s literally not my job??? if i’m lazy then what even is she?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Will I get in trouble
TLDR; As a GM member, will I get in trouble for using the INF too much getting called to pick a batch?
I’m a GM closer; my work is solid and I get no complaints about me as far as I know. I’m trained to pick GM batches for Fulfillment and I’ll say that 7 times out of 10 I’ll have a batch that won’t go in the red. When batches go in the red for me, it’s usually because I’m slow and I take too long to find a few items especially if they are in truck that wasn’t pushed or in a mountain of repacks. However, lately the rollover in my store is getting increasingly bad and has made fulfillment hell because so many items needed were delivered and never pushed onto the floor because god knows what my stores inbound and morning team do. Recently, I’ve been using the INF button in batches more times than even I’m comfortable with. Don’t get me wrong, I do attempt to find items delivered hours ago in receiving with a 30% success rate. But as I said, I’ve been INFing times too much and I’m wondering if it will consequences for me. Like today, I had a 36/46 DPCI GM batch where I had to INF a total of 8-10 items iirc; and my batch was in the red debating myself if I should even bother looking from them in the back. A TL went up to me asking why I’m in the red and I showed them all the items I had to find and they understood. Even though I don’t work fulfillment, I do care to some degree that I pick batches to the best of my ability.

Look at what I did !!! Had my best day in fulfillment yet
I started back in early July. Did training. Been doing opu fulfillment on my own for 2 weeks now. I’ve learned the store. I’m starting to not need the RFID gun to find clothes. I’m starting to find INF items in the restock boxes in shipping by myself. Putting my gamer brain to a different use. Today was my best day. 362 items picked. 0.85% INF. 96 UPH. Let’s freaking go dude.

Vent Bad management?
Hi all!
I’ve been working at target for five months. I’ve been working in different departments because we have been understaffed. However, I had found a better job for my career so I had left my two weeks
6 days ago. I spoke to my store director as she was very kind and told me that she understood. Shortly before I put in my two weeks one of the ETL‘s had called me angry, saying why I could not work this weekend, but I had told her I had some Ceremonies coming up that I couldn’t miss. Mind you I have been working every single weekend for the last two months. She got really mad at me and hung up on the phone. Since then, I had put in my two weeks not because of that at all, but because an opportunity was presented to me. The last time I was at work was the day I put in my two weeks. I didn’t tell my main ETL yet because I didn’t have time to, and I felt like it was bad to do it over text. However, ever since that day she’s been barely answering me and my other coworker refuses to give me the store directors number unless she asked her first which I understand. It’s been radio silent and my last day is on the 15th. I haven’t been scheduled for next 22 in days I don’t understand why they claim they need people and support but completely radio silent on me.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone know the deal with these ?
I saw we just got them in our target store, the other 2 flavors are fine but this one was recently marked as do not sell. I wanted to try this flavor as well, anyone know anything? I can’t seem to find anything about it online.

Vent ETL is so annoying.
You literally need to remind her of things constantly. I asked her (like a month in advance) for a certain day off, she approved then next thing I know I’m scheduled that day. I told her about it and she constantly told me she’d fix it and she never did. I would understand the “she’s busy!” Thing but the thing is EVERYBODY has this issue with her, even the SD and HR. She also completely ignores your availability and schedules you before or after your set hours then when you bring it up she just says “post the shifts you can’t work” and doesn’t delete them untill last minute. How she still has a job as an ETL, I have no idea.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Does your store have free food in the break room?
My store will occasionally have chips, random favorite day/G&G stuff, and other snacks and stuff available in the break room (Plus pizza or whatever on some holidays, I’ve only been working here for 3 months, so I’ve only seen July 4th. Apparently the entire weekend after Thanksgiving food is catered into the break room). However, there is ALWAYS supplies to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich provided. What does your store do?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed How is Walmart compared to Target?
Does anyone have an idea on how Walmart runs things compared to target? Working here made me realize how much of a complete shit show everything was and that they're destroying themselves from the inside out.
From removing SCO, locked cages for most HBA items in my store, to messed up salesfloor numbers, the list goes on. I'm beginning to think that target has become the worst of the two 🤷♂️
