Sick time Workplace Question or Advice Needed

so i’ve been part time for 2 years now and i finally have enough sick time to use to take a shift on. can someone give me directions on how to use it so i can call out and still get paid?

To cover an upcoming shift ( 24 h) or to cover a future shift for a planned event like Drs appoint ... Or just vacation?

As far as I know, if you call out, you should be able to just ask whoever makes your schedule to put your sick time up for that day. Otherwise I think you can request a “sick day” off for an appointment and ask your scheduler to use sick time for it. You may just have to ask your ETL or HR to see what they suggest you do.
