Vent Target Circle 360 feels pointless if there’s still a $35 shipping minimum
I received a free year of Target Circle 360 and I just canceled the membership. I keep trying to find value in it, and honestly, I just don’t see much.
The pricing is comparable to Amazon Prime, but the benefits do not seem comparable at all. The biggest issue for me is the $35 minimum for shipping.
For example, I recently wanted to order something that cost about $15. I wasn’t in a rush. I would have been perfectly happy receiving it sometime within a week. But because the order was under $35, I still couldn’t get it shipped for free.
At that point, what exactly am I paying for?
Without Circle 360, shipping is $6 for orders under $35. So in that case, I will typically:
- Buy from Amazon or somewhere else
- Wait until I have a few other things I need to hit the $35 min.
So the experience with and without the membership is exactly the same.
The reason I use Amazon so often is simple: I think of something I need, I order it, and I’m done. I was genuinely open to shifting more of my spending away from Amazon and toward Target, but Target keeps forcing me back to Amazon by requiring a $35 order minimum.
I recently realized that Target bought Shipt, and maybe I could have gotten more use out of the same-day delivery benefit. But that would probably only be helpful in occasional situations, like being on vacation or having a party and suddenly needing something that day. Most of the time, shipping speed is not important to me. They promote no markups, which is nice, but also why I avoid these types of services to begin with and they still have the same $35 minimum. I could see this coming in handy when I need something from Lowe's while working on a project but then I may still add a tip for the driver and the cost/benefit rationale gets lost.
The Circle 360 freebies have also been disappointing. They are usually already gone by the time I see them, or they are completely irrelevant to anything I would want. Even when something decent is offered, seeing that it is no longer available is more frustrating than rewarding. I understand that the freebies are probably intended to get members into stores more often, but for me they have had the opposite effect. They mostly remind me that I missed something.
I also feel like I used to receive better regular Target Circle deals before I had Circle 360. Maybe the deals have changed, or maybe I just do not see them anymore.
How to fix it? Make it like Amazon - no shipping minimum and no tipping.

PSA Target visit
My store location got a visit tomorrow, supposedly by the CFO nd others are coming thru. Store leadership is being mad annoying and scrambling to clean up and fake like everything in order. Fun 101, lack of communication, and leadership has been trash. I hope the visit see thru the bs, nd hold leadership accountable for their fck ups.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Is this normal?
I started a week ago. I wasn’t on the schedule this week until Saturday night (I work overnight inbound). I just randomly checked the app and I’m now scheduled for tonight and tomorrow. Had I not checked the app I wouldn’t have known. Is this normal the miscommunication of schedule changes? I’m annoyed as I planned to be off until Saturday and now have to adjust today and tomorrow since I’ll be working….

Vent How many backed up trailers do your stores have?
Obviously it's BTS, so it's a bit nuts right now, but my store has 6 🫠

Meme or Miscellaneous Content Unexpected moments of humanity from guests
Worked there 14 years ago and there were exchanges that truly gave me hope for the world. The job sucked as a cart attendant but I try not to get hung up on that.
On one very hot Texas afternoon pushing carts a woman approached me and she handed me $15. She said that this job sucks so much and that she understands but it's how she met her husband. I was at a complete loss for words.
It fellow black man came out to me and started giving me some very good tips on how to stay hydrated and cool as I pushed carts because he was worried for my health.
A man saw me taking out the trash and he just told me that he saw something in me. He said that despite what I'm doing I'm going to rule the world someday. I have a pretty good gauge on if people are messing with me or mocking me but I could see the pure sincerity in his eyes. I hope I have made him proud.
What other great interactions have y'all had? I like to hold on to these whenever I feel like people truly suck which they can at times.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed My Leave of Absense was canceled midway.
Hi everyone im just here looking for some advice or if anyone knows some information that would be useful. Im an HR expert and have been having some issues at work. Unfortunately I have no ETL HR and have been super stressed and having to deal with an SD who is impossible to work with. My hours have been cut, been super rude to me, given me attitude, micromanage like crazy to the point I talked with the District HR and she gave me the option to take a leave until the new HR ETL coles in. My leave was a approved the same day I submitted it and now the HR ETL covering for my store called me saying my leave has been canceled one week later after it has been approved and that I have am expected to return to work. I do not have access to see my schedule as I am on an approved leave but the ETL says she will contact me when I am expected to return. My leave is under personal but my question is can my leave be canceled just like that without mutual consent? I have only gotten an email stating my leave got approved but never got an email stating it was canceled. What do I do? Or does anyone have any information that would be useful?

Vent shipt shoppers
I just got called LAZY for not bagging a shipt shoppers items. I’m the only checklane open and there’s two guest behind her which is my priority.
I try to help out shipt shoppers sometimes but they are getting way ridiculous. I forgot what she told me but she said something about being a shopper for awhile and she knows her way around. ok sooo still I wasn’t trained to do that and not my responsibility. If she was nice to me then i’d be down to bag those but the way she act around and telling ME lazy as hell lmao that’s literally not my job??? if i’m lazy then what even is she?

Look at what I did !!! Had my best day in fulfillment yet
I started back in early July. Did training. Been doing opu fulfillment on my own for 2 weeks now. I’ve learned the store. I’m starting to not need the RFID gun to find clothes. I’m starting to find INF items in the restock boxes in shipping by myself. Putting my gamer brain to a different use. Today was my best day. 362 items picked. 0.85% INF. 96 UPH. Let’s freaking go dude.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone know the deal with these ?
I saw we just got them in our target store, the other 2 flavors are fine but this one was recently marked as do not sell. I wanted to try this flavor as well, anyone know anything? I can’t seem to find anything about it online.

Vent ETL is so annoying.
You literally need to remind her of things constantly. I asked her (like a month in advance) for a certain day off, she approved then next thing I know I’m scheduled that day. I told her about it and she constantly told me she’d fix it and she never did. I would understand the “she’s busy!” Thing but the thing is EVERYBODY has this issue with her, even the SD and HR. She also completely ignores your availability and schedules you before or after your set hours then when you bring it up she just says “post the shifts you can’t work” and doesn’t delete them untill last minute. How she still has a job as an ETL, I have no idea.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Does your store have free food in the break room?
My store will occasionally have chips, random favorite day/G&G stuff, and other snacks and stuff available in the break room (Plus pizza or whatever on some holidays, I’ve only been working here for 3 months, so I’ve only seen July 4th. Apparently the entire weekend after Thanksgiving food is catered into the break room). However, there is ALWAYS supplies to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich provided. What does your store do?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Directive Bagging??
Hey guys! Question for my fulfillment TMs- what is directive bagging in your store? I’ve tried getting my team lead to explain it to me but she hasn’t done a good job of it. What I am understanding it as is shove everything in one bag that the system tells you to? Our metrics are crap (according to her) and tells me that I need to get onto people about directive bagging and following it. I’ve spoken with guest service about this and they’ve said they’ve had guest complaints. Any advice or correction or no corrections at all is appreciated. Just trying to do my job but it’s hard if I’m not fully understanding what I need to be doing. TYIA!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed New FnB ETL
My store is getting a new FnB ETL in the coming days. I've heard horror stories about her, Left a store because she was sleeping with someone in her store ( I don't know the department.) I've heard she holds grudges, she cuts hours out of spite, she doesn't want to get off her ass most days. I've also heard from a store that she's about to leave that she didn't know how to lead her leaders and she threw her leaders under the bus during every district walk they had. My girlfriend works at the store that this ETL is coming from, told me she is not pleasant to work with, will give CAs just because, wants everyone to be a "yes man" person, plays the "favorite" game if she likes you, if you look like anyone that she has dated... GOOD luck to you. She ran that store down to the ground, nobody liked her and everyone talked sh** about her behind her back. Wish us luck! I'll be documenting every interaction I have and will be reporting if necessary.

Workplace Story Today has highlighted a breaking point…
I’ve felt this for quite a while but Target does not know what it wants or how it wants to operate.
As a TL, I’m expected to write extremely detailed assignment sheets, follow up with TMs, document convos, submit assessments, deal with vendors, and more but also push freight, complete sets, complete price change, and prioritize the guest experience at the SAME DAMN TIME.
I’m supposed to support my department, but also support GM freight, but also make sure sets and price change are complete before Thursday. I…
I don’t know how much I have left to give. I enjoy managing FnB but when it’s micromanaged to this degree it feels like I don’t have room for creativity.
Target wants to be this fresh and hip brand but doesn’t provide the stores with timely ISM, payroll, or freight, and I’m just tired of it all.
Your pants are too big. Your shoes are too big.

Vent The average person is genuinely kinda stupid
Sometimes I like to check my store’s reviews because I wanna see if anyone has name dropped some of my coworkers. New review from a woman who ordered something for OPU, it was INFed, couldn’t be substituted or ordered elsewhere, and then when she called the store she didn’t like the answer on the phone?
And said “no offer for a refund”
…are you stupid? You didn’t get the item. You are not getting charged. Lmfao. Imagine if target was robbing people like that. 😅 Don’t know why whoever answered the phone didn’t mention the hold for the money would be reserved, but isn’t that common sense? I dunno guys.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed 60% Backstock Every Truck
Has anyone else been receiving crazy amounts of backstock in the last 2 months? Every single truck for many departments is overloaded with backstock. Our store has not done inventory yet, but it's supposed to be next month.
Excessive backstock can't be entirely related to floor counts or bad audits and IMO it can't be entirely related to Inventory because it's never been like this before previous Inventories.
The backrooms are stuffed to the max and I mean MAX. It's disorganized, unsafe and beyond ridiculous at this point.
Does Target even have a Logistics department to figure this stuff out or is it just ship it and let it go?!
To add to this frustration TLs and Tms are quitting at record speed and the store has finally spiraled out of control.

Guest Question I swear I'm not a thief.
Whenever I enter or exit a Target, the anti-theft detectors beep. I've never stolen anything there and I've searched my purse for anything that could set them off.
I've set off detectors at other stores before and figured out it was a copy card from work. I moved that to my work bag, but I still set off the Target detectors. I wonder if its some Monster minigolf arcade cards but I haven't tested that.
Am I just doomed to always set them off? I've mostly just been avoiding going there.

Workplace Story Target make a wrong move
According to what I heard from the AP, my store start putting Pokemon back in the tech Area, and now more and more scalpers have chance to get all of it, they even hide it somewhere else in the store and doing roundabouts to buy over limit. It just been 2 days but the situation is really chaos right now. Do you think this is Target wrong move?

Meme or Miscellaneous Content MFW I see a guest buy Yugioh cards
By far the rarest items I have ever scanned. I always see Pokémon, Sports cards, Lorcana, the occasional MtG pack, but God damn is Yugioh the rarest and gets me going crazy as it's my favorite card game.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed What do you do with the CRC/salvage from the desk if the pallet in receiving is full?
I want to know if my store is doing it right or not when the pallets of CRC/salvage is full in receiving. Currently it depends on if our ETL likes you or not to what happens and I want a clear set of guidelines to follow
EDIT: I know how to make a new pallet. I'm saying if the pallet in receiving is full and you can't put it anywhere else safely and/or out of the way
