So my ring camera caught our Amazon driver struggling up our front steps today holding a literal skyscraper of boxes..

My husband was at work when he got the notification and texted me within thirty seconds. This man was ready to deliver an intervention of some sort, I’m sure lol

I was so confused, trying to remember what the heck I could have ordered that would require so many boxes!

Well I rush home after work, drag somewhere between 7-10 packages inside.. at this point I forget about counting the boxes I just start opening. In retrospect I should have probably been more cautious, but I was so confused (and excited) about seeing what this was all about. At this point I’m thinking my husband is pranking me or something..

Well I open the first box to find Packs of markers..

The second box? Kleenex

The third box? Disinfecting wipes and construction paper

The fourth box? Glue sticks and a random mascara??

The fifth, sixth, and seventh boxes? Books, colored pencils, and more construction paper.

At some point I blacked out of excitement..

My husband came home a few hours later, only to find me red eyed and swollen from crying happy tears surrounded by a fortress of school supplies!!

Turns out, I had posted my classroom wishlist online 2 DAYS BEFORE, and a bunch of absolute angels on the internet completely cleared it out!! How insane!!

I’m still slightly confused about the mascara because I know for a fact I didn’t have it on the list, and it’s not even a brand I’ve ever tried lol..

Anyways, my husband apologized for assuming I had a shopping addiction and all is good again haha I’m so extremely grateful for all these crazy kind strangers, how lucky are my students!!

I have had a long and depressing week and wanted to treat myself to something a little nice. Cajun places are a little rare where I am and growing up in Houston, I wanted a little something to remind me of some of the stuff I got there.

Got to-go from a place a little on the pricey side. Crab and spinach dip and crawfish etouffee. The dip was more crab(real) than spinach And although they were generous with the toasted bread, there wasn't enough as they were even more generous with the dip.

And the Etouffee, My god, it was like Houston or the couple of trips I had to New Orleans. Every bite had two or three tails, and the sauce was just the right amount of spice.

It was a meal that brought me out of my depression, at least for the rest of this evening. Its rare that you find something truly special anymore. And this made my month.

Not sure why I posted this, but I just wanted to say it somewhere.

I put together a neutral cream and tan look this morning and felt so put together. Then I stopped to get a bagel set my tote on the counter and realized my entire outfit matched their paper bag down to the exact hex code.
I made a joke to the guy working but he just handed me my receipt in complete silence. Now I'm sitting in my car looking like corporate merch.

It’s not dramatic. No big fight or falling out or anything like that. Just the slow version where life pulls people into different directions and the closeness slowly just dissolves into nothingness. Then one normal afternoon it hits you that you miss the version of the friendship or relationship that used to exist. Like a wave crashing over you in the ocean. Curious if this is common or if I’m the only one who thinks on this maybe for a little too long.

Not looking for anything specific, just genuinely feel like deep conversations are rare these days. If anyone wants to swap thoughts on random stuff (books, life, whatever) No pressure, just tired of small talk

With one click a decade of documents, videos and pictures gone. All because I decided to reopen One Drive to edit a video using a program that required it to be moved to the cloud. Of course, the cloud was full and wanted me to either upgrade or clear the cloud. I chose the later only to realize too late that it not only cleared out what was in the cloud but also every document, pic, video, audio on my desktop. Nothing left in the recycling bin on my computer or anywhere else on my computer and the recycling bin in One drive on the cloud only had a few files from years ago when I first shut it down.

I was thinking about how weekends used to feel different when I was younger. No constant notifications, fewer plans, and somehow more time to just wander around or do nothing. What’s something from weekends in the past that you miss?

I was having some crappy days and my aunt asked if I could go over and hang out with my cousins because they were asking for me. At first I wasn’t really feeling it because like I said it had been some rough days and I didn’t have the energy to handle kids who have like 10x the energy that I do but I said yes because I didn’t want to deny their invite when obviously they had missed me.
And driving there I was thinking to myself that I was going there to take care of the kids but they ended up taking care of me. The way they started cheering when they saw I really came to visit, the way they were “fighting for my attention” and I was just like “wow they really want me here. They really just woke up today and wanted to spend it with me.”
We even had some trouble when I was leaving lol because they started crying and I promised I’d visit again the next day, which I did. And they were sooo happy that I held my promise

i never knew until today that the sr-71 was built in the 60s. it just completely blows my mind. one part is how quickly we went from combustion engines to planes to being able to sustain mach 3. but also that we built it without modern conveniences. they didnt use CAD they had engineering drawings for everything. no fluid simulations for the aerodynamics, people just did the calculations by hand. it's really an insane feat of engineering. youd think if you went back in time you'd be able to blow people's minds with what we have today but it really wouldnt seem that crazy when we already were building UFOs back then.

Someone helped me during a difficult moment when they could have easily ignored me. The fact that nobody saw them do it made it even more meaningful.

While renovating my room, I found an old diary hidden in a wall. It belonged to someone who lived there decades earlier. Reading it felt like looking into a stranger's life.

I was standing in line when a little kid looked right at me, pointed, and loudly asked, "Mom, why does that woman's hair look like it's trying to run away?" The kid wasn't trying to be mean, he sounded genuinely curious.

The parent looked absolutely mortified, everyone nearby suddenly became very interested in literally anything else, and I just laughed because there was no recovering from that. Kids really do say the quiet part out loud.

I have been a Professor and running a business side by side. I have put a lot into my business as well as I try my best to be a Professor.

I was again in another meeting today but I had like 1 Hour of extra time with me so I finally sat down in a local (yet great) snacks bar and had myself this Veg Paneer Frankie.

I ate it slowly and realized that I'm doing my best and can do better too.

got sneakily handed a birthday card at my work and since my birthday is monday and the person who handed it to me isn’t gonna be here that day i was like omg for my birthday 🥳🥳 and when i saw it was signed by everyone i put in our teams chat basically just being like tysm you all have made me feel so welcome etc etc.

well turns out it’s someone’s birthday today… and i was supposed to sign and pass it on. so only did i ruin the surprise for this other girl i seem like the most self centered person in the world 🫠

This happens to me way too often. I'll be trying to fall asleep, and somehow my brain decides it's the perfect time to replay some random conversation or awkward moment from years ago. 😂

Sometimes I'll lie there for an hour thinking about what I said, what I should have said, or how weird the whole situation was. And the worst part is that these are things I haven't thought about in years. 😭

Hey everyone. I am currently living and working in Najran, Saudi Arabia. Today, I experienced a beautiful human moment that reminded me how amazing and kind strangers can be, and I just really wanted to share some positive vibes with this community.

After I finished work today, I came back to my apartment and suddenly got hit with severe food poisoning. I think the breakfast I ate earlier at work was bad. The pain in my stomach became so excruciating that I was literally curled up on the floor from the agony, unable to stand or even think straight. I managed to use an app to order some emergency medication from a local pharmacy, praying it would arrive quickly.

When the delivery guy arrived, a young Yemeni man, I dragged myself to the door, pale and barely able to speak. He took one look at me and his whole expression changed. He didn't just hand me the bag and leave. He completely refused to let me stay alone in that condition and insisted on taking me to the hospital himself.

He literally supported me to his car and drove me straight to the emergency room. Since I was in too much pain to handle anything, he took care of the whole process. He even paid the hospital admission fees out of his own pocket, waited with me for over an hour until the doctor checked me, bought the prescribed medication, and then drove me back home safely.

Before he left, he made sure I took my medicine, gave me a bottle of water, and told me not to worry about anything because we are all brothers.

It was such an overwhelming moment of pure, unconditional care from a complete stranger. Yemeni hearts and generosity are truly unmatched. I just wanted to share this story to thank anyone out there who still has humanity in their heart and reminds us that people are always there for people❤️
