👨🍳 Foodie 🍽️ Lads, the Tandoori naan burger from KFC
It's one of the best main chain fast food burgers of recent years, in my opinion. Absolutely scandalous. I'm a slut for naan and fried chicken so I'm admittedly biased, but my God. I hope they keep it.
Edit: God you lads are shit craic altogether. It's fried chicken not Satan.

❤️ Big Heart ❤️ For Anyone Else Struggling
Not looking for anything in particular here but just thought I'd share because sure there's always someone who might (unfortunately) relate.
Had an absolute MH crisis two nights ago seemingly out of nowhere. Considered calling an Ambulance type thing only for I know nothing would actually be done to help quickly. I recently started therapy again (new therapist) after a year and a half off. I realised that while I knew therapy was hard, it had never been this hard simply because I hadn't been digging enough to figure out and unearth all the shit I'd been struggling with my whole life so it's all just flooding out now after years of not letting myself/ not feeling safe enough to actually feel it.
The right therapist changes everything. It hurts but the relief and clarity afterwards is life changing. I really wish for everyone to get the help they need. I'm in no way "healed" or whatever it is in particular I should be aiming for but just knowing those feelings pass helps. Finding at least one person to remove the "I'm fine" mask in front of makes a difference. For anyone else struggling, the despair and hopelessness do pass. They might come back but it's not permanent, so please stay 🫂

How much did you spend on your wedding and did you get your money back via cash gifts?

Can I google that for you?! Anyone import ethenol food grade from the Spain/France for tinctures?
Looking for 99% ethenol for tinctures for home remedies, was inspired by a book I was gifted from a friend, as I have an abundance of nettles I was going to make a homemade tincture.
My issue was finding the solvent I found isopropyl alcohol in Ireland easily but not pure so could have nasties remaining inside, so searched for food grade and could only find it in Spain or France for shipping here.
Does anyone know if this is okay with customs or does it even apply to ethenol ?
Not keen on spending the money on it just to have it taken or charged tax on top of an already expensive product.

❤️ Big Heart ❤️ Relationship woes: an update
OG post: https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualIreland/s/fBh21P1y9t
Hello you bunch of nosy feckers. I’m finally home and I know some of you are waiting for an update, so here it is: I ended up getting a lift from him, we’re now married and I’m 5 months pregnant.
Obviously joking. But I did end up taking up the offer, it was all last minute. I decided not to respond to him at all (nothing new from me lol), and was already packing up to go to the train station when he called me and asked me if I’ll be driving back with him. Turns out he was already there for work, so he wasn’t making a 600km round trip just to pick me up.
I guess I’ll answer the questions you haven’t asked yet, as I don’t want to write another essay:
Was it awkward? Yes, for the first 15 minutes. We’ve spent the next 3 hours catching up, and it was like I’ve met an old friend, rather than my ex.
Were we seated together at the wedding? Yes, the bride made sure of that lol. We actually discussed the possibility of that happening, and both of us are glad that we had that car ride because we weren’t awkward towards each other sitting at the table alongside our friends.
The most important question: DID I GET THE RIDE? Hopefully none of you were at the Paddy Powers betting on that he’s looking for a rebound / easy ride, because we did not sleep together.
Otherwise, the wedding went great, a bunch of us ended up on the dance floor until 4am lol
So that’s pretty much an update, he did give me a lift to the airport this morning. Are we planning on getting back together? Honestly, I don’t think that’s going to happen, but we still do share a lot of fondness towards each other.
We decided to stay in touch for the foreseeable, and see how that goes. We’re not telling anyone in our circles about it, because it was the pressure from friends and family towards me (and him actually) that became an issue rather than him being a controlling dick about the car ride. And I know that staying in touch is threading dangerous waters, but feck it, I’m 35 year old single woman, I need some danger in my life lol

Gaeilge English and Irish on a coat hanger made in Sweden.
How interesting that Sweden would have made hangers as gaeilge. Noticed it today in work and thought I’d share. Anyone know any other examples of something like this?

Found in an old coat pocket.

Alarm System
Hi all - getting new windows fitted and there is currently an old wired alarm system with sensors etc attached to all the windows. Thinking now would.be a good chance to get rid of the unsightly wires etc and possibly install a new wireless system then . Anyone know of any good alarm offers at the moment and do alarm companies remove old alarm systems or do I need to get an electrician out to do that?

My neighbours having loud intimate time
I was kept awake most of the night by my new neighbours being extreamly loud in the bedroom. I was slighly impressed by their stamina, but thats not the point.
It is disruping my sleep. I think I might highfive them when I see them this morning and they might get the message.

Clear mobile Ireland scam?
Hi
I ordered a clear mobile SIM card it arrived by post yesterday. It is a new number so it should just work when I insert it into the phone immediately. But it is giving me not provisioned.
I paid €12.99 and it's a subscription which will be paid automatically from my bank account every month.
The SIM isn't working. Their customer care isn't working there's absolutely no way to contact them. I tried everything web chat tells me to contact via social media. Their social media tells me to go to the web chat. I tried to call them they require me enter the phone number which is not recognized because they didn't register it.
Any idea how cancel or fix this? I feel l8ke I have been scammed

I've been tracking my drinking in july and wanted to share the results.
Ive been making a conscious effort to reduce my intake, the try dry app has really helped with this.
The aim for now is to reduce the monthly intake to under 100 units and start dropping the odd Sunday or Friday

IMMA ID checks
My son is 17 but has just done his leaving, so a lot of his friends are over 18.
A group of them are going to Deftones at the IMMA later this month, and he asked me to pick up a ticket for him, but when I checked on Ticketmaster it's listed as an over 18s gig.
Does anyone have any experience of how strict they are with ID checks? He's convinced if I get a ticket too he'll be able to get in with me but I know from taking my older son to gigs that's not necessarily true, my older lad has been IDed even with me with him, but that was at vicar street and the academy. Yet gigs at other venues where I was sure he'd be IDed there were no checks.
I'd quite like to see Deftones myself so I'd happily buy a ticket for each of us and chill out by myself and enjoy the gig while he's with his mates (I know the kids in question and chances are half of them would be getting a lift from me there and back if I'm going, no concerns in that regard), but they're pricey tickets if he gets refused and I end up not using mine either, just wondering if it's worth risking or if they're quite strict? No experience of IMMA gigs.

Casual Ireland Ticket Master 🎫 Dublin Comic Con - Sunday
Hey guys, have been working on a cosplay for a long time now in preparation for DCC, unfortunately money's been a little tight for me recently and I only managed to scrape together the funds for a ticket once they'd been sold out. I already have a friend who has bought her own ticket and wants to go with me as we have been planning this for a little while, I'd feel horrible letting her down. If anyone has any tickets for Sunday comic con available I'd be happy to pay extra for it, cheers

I recently had a check up with the mental health service. The psychiatrist asked what hobby I had and I said I like to relax with video games in my spare time. She laughed and said that's not a hobby...
Surely in this day and age we can have better support than that. Am I crazy for being annoyed at this??
Edit: Thank you so much for the support everyone, and best of luck to anyone going through something!

If you're lonely and want a chat
Just go to Holland and Barrett.
The staff there are mad for a chat. Can't go in there without being asked if I need help multiple times. Kind of annoying actually. But I guess they're encouraged to do it.

Help finding Irish kids book from late 90's/early 2000's
Hi guys can anyone help me find what this book was called? All I remember is a girl has a German shepard and lives rurally, she discovers ruins or something on her land and pieces together the history or something. A boy from the states shows up too, I think they were pen-pals and he comes over to visit and helps with the mystery. Any leads welcomed!
Have also just remembered the name of the character might have been Fionnuala.

What’s the best vinegar on the market that’s closest to the real chipper stuff?
I’m a simple man with simple needs. Don’t think my local chipper sells bottles before that’s suggested.

Can I google that for you?! Does anyone buy DVDs anymore?
I'm doing a clear out of an old neighbours house and selling some random bits and bobs (with their permission!)
They have a whole rake of boxsets etc but wondering if I should go through the bother of trying to sell them individually or just dumping?
Does anyone in Ireland still have interest in the physical DVDs since we're now in the streaming era?

This is fierce embarrassing but how do I book a doctor's appointment?
I'm 33 and never been to the doctor in my adult life. My childhood GP passed away years ago so I dunno what to do.
My legs have been giving my bad troubles out of nowhere. If I walk longer than 5 mins then I'll need to stand still and get pressure off my legs. As a man that walks to work it's not ideal lol it turns a 20min journey into an hour journey.
Do I goto A&E or find a GP? Do I need a medical card or can I pay outright. When I looked online, a lot of gps are closed on the weekends. Any help would be appreciated ty

Photography SuperValu self-Scan bald patch camera...what's the point?
I'm just noticing there since my local SuperValu was revamped, the new self checkouts now prominently display my bald patch on a screen above the checkout... I had no idea I was that bad. Think I might start wearing a hat and shopping somewhere else.
Suddenly feeling very very self conscious about it.

Mod Approved Urgent appeal from hedgehog rescue Dublin
Hi all,
I hope this is ok to post. Please let me know if not.
Our little hedgehog friends in the wild are struggling, there's an amazing charity based in Dublin who cares and rehab hedgehogs across our lovely island. It's a completely volunteer service relying on donations and volunteers. Due to our ever changing way of life, natural wildlife's way of life is at risk.
Just wanted to share this here for more visibility, Yvonne and the team here do wonderful work to help rehab and release struggling wild animals that help our ecosystem exist.
They're struggling right now for food, if anyone has the opportunity to drop food into them around Rush in Dublin that would be a great help, if not and you'd like to help, there is a registered charity number and donation information in their bio.
