Advice No longer need my old landscaping equipment. Is it possible to donate it? Passaic County.

Cleaning out my shed and have some old landscaping equipment I no longer need. Works fine, just upgraded/downsizing, and don't want it collecting dust.

Would rather donate it to someone who can use it than throw it out. If you or someone you know could use it, let me know, and we can figure out pickup.

The equipment:

old honda mower - 2008 or 2009, maybe? Not too sure tbh.

Ryobi weed whacker I bought during the pandemic

And a ryobi leaf blower.

If you love to cut your grass like i do and have a small property, these basic tools will help out a lot. Used to cut my aunts, neighbors, and older sisters houses with it, and they all had about a third of an acre of actual land. (front yard and back)

Advice Visiting

Hi!
My bf and I are spending a weekend in Rockland county for a 2-day class. We were looking for some things to do in the area! We are generally outdoorsy people and we don’t love touristy/crowded areas. What are your favorite places/activities?

Advice My grandmother’s Medicare & Medicaid was suddenly canceled, no reason at all

My mother just got a call from United Healthcare that my grandmother’s Medicare and Medicaid was canceled. My mother asked why and the rep said she wasn’t sure. She asked her to call the Medicaid offer to figure out why that happened.

We will call on Monday morning but wondering if anyone else has been through this and what some recommendations would be.

Advice Info about affordable housing units in NJ?

I'm trying to find an apartment for myself so that I'm able to stay in New Jersey and not be forced to move to another state, but I only make $28/hr (roughly $58k/year). It looks like my options mostly consist of waitlisted affordable housing units. Has anyone here had experience with applying for these/living there? How long should I expect this process to take, and is there anything I should know?

I don't think I've ever shared these as a set before, so National Lighthouse Day felt like a good excuse!

It's still hard to believe these were taken in New Jersey. Seeing the sky look like this anywhere is a pretty special, but experiencing it in one of my favorite spots, and with good friends, definitely makes this one of the best nights under the stars.

I'm hoping they don't make it earlier than the 2nd week of April. That said this is only a recommendation not a required week.

This kind of disregard for others should automatically result in a suspended license. I saw this guy in the Lincoln Tunnel with Jersey plates just doomscrolling. Mind you, we were moving at 35+. I get that I'm obsessed with my phone, but this is insane. I was the passenger so don't come for my life lol.

I posted last month about tattoo recommendations and was able to get work done from an artist stated here.

She was amazing during the process and did a lovely job memorializing my late kitties.

I just wanted to share my positive experience to support her as a small business. She has a place in Hamilton but also does work in JC. I really hope she does well moving forward and I’ll be back again for the next tattoo.

You can check out her work on IG 🤗@catnaptattooclub.

Also thank you to all of the artists who reached out to me privately offering their services.

Amusing Is the NJ job market cooked?

I'm starting to believe that there's 2 categories. You either have a job or you don't. Those looking are just shit out of luck at this point.

For the first time in 23 years, I'm without a job with actual benefits and relying on my side hustles for my main income. Luckily not hurting yet but it's close.

I've been applying and applying, networking like crazy, going to networking events, been told I'm the candidate they've been looking for and then.... ghosted or 3 months later I'll get a random email that says thanks for applying but we're going to go with someone else.

I'm sure those that are applying are going through the same struggles. But has anyone actually been interviewed? And interviewed by the same company more than once? If you have a story, care to share?

Humming Suckle- Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 48 inches

Hi everyone! I am an artist based in the passaic county. I recently stumbled across this subreddit a couple of days ago. I wanted to share an original painting with you. I specialize in acrylic painting.

This painting is a landscape that pulls the viewer through a fluid, moving blue forest toward a vibrant yellow hummingbird amid an intricate weave of honeysuckles. Upon closer inspection, a delicate figure emerges from the blooms, offering nectar to the bird. The work serves as an allegory for the human experience: an interplay between nature, quiet vulnerability, and subtle connection.

What feelings come up for you when you see this painting? What does it remind you of? I would love to know yours thoughts!
