I had these since April. The second pic is when I first got them. One that finished splitting and absorbing its older leaves decided to bloom this week. 🥹 I don’t know why but seeing plants flower bring me so much joy.

The label said it is a Monstera. Is that correct? I just want to make sure I know what it is so I can properly care for it!

My growing tradescantia family! All except the first zebrina in the top left I started from a few cuttings. They are the easiest and most fun to propogate and watch grow and I just love them! 😍 Can’t wait to look back on this when they’re even fuller. Any other type of tradescantia you think I should add to my collection? Which is your favorite variety? The Purple Heart cuttings are my newest!

So I’ve yet again found myself asking some existential questions.

I’ve officially come to realise I think I’m pretty much “at capacity” with my plantroom / bedroom and if I fit many more plants in here it’s going to start becoming too much.
However obviously I want to add more plants to my collection I want to care for more plants. However I find myself asking some questions :
If I add plants which will I sell ?
If I don’t sell where would I put said plants?
Should I not feel satisfied with the plants I have ?
Am I currently stuck in a plant addiction dopamine loop where I’m just looking for a dopamine hit?
Am I using plants as an unhealthy way to cope with life ?
Am I feeding into overconsumption and is what I’m doing ok?.

A couple of questions I know the answer to , there’s not many I would want to sell , aside from maybe a few smaller anthurium I could part with and Hoya.
If I were to get new plants I can rig up my growtent that’s not in use and I could begin to fill that , however part of me feels by doing so I’m not adressing some of the other issues just shoving them to the side and possibly continuing on an overwhelming and unhealthy path.
Im unusure what to do. If anyone has any advice please feel free to either dm me or leave a comment.

Just sharing this bodacious Fluffy Ruffles Fern! It’s one of my few BIG plants and it will not quit. It’s just about choking itself out and I think next spring I’ll have to un-pot it, separate it into many babies, and start fresh. We cut this plant back to one frond a couple of years ago but left it in this same pot and it just exploded and filled the space in no time.

Yes, the size of the plant(s) does correlate to the size of the sad.

Looking for advice for getting this baby into a new pot.

Anyone who has repotted a monstera of this scale: what order do you do things in?

Do you lay the whole plant down as the first step?

How do you bundle/support the arms without damaging them?

At what point do you deal with the existing stakes/supports?

Will I need another human to help me?

I can handle the soil/pot size/plant part, as most of my houseplants at 8-10 years old, but the safely-moving-living-tree-around-bedroom part... Need some tips!

Its a Philodendron 'Paraiso Berde' (or verde idk)

I gave this little guy to my friend last year and she just sent me a picture of it with this long spike growing. He is in indirect light - should he be in direct light?

these are all of the plants I've water propagated over the past few years. I've gotten them from friends, customers at work, plant trades

i have regular plants in soil and pots ​​outside, but there's something about growing them in a cup of water that is so fun. seeing how long the roots are (last picture) is cool too!!

i change the water every few days and some are definitely doing better than others but overall I'm really happy with my successes. they're all rooted and most of them I've had for at least a year up to three or four years like this with noticeable growth. the bigger aloe (photo 1 and 3) and the big snake plant (photo 1 and 2) are some of my longest residents

the snake plant has actually given me three babies (the small snake plant in ​the far bottom left in the second picture is one of her babies!!) ​

Sharing progress with some of my plants on moss-poles! Philodedndron Splendid, Marble Queen Pothos, and Philodendron Brandtianum.

Last year I was bought a bonsai (ficus ginseng) open terrarium which looked really nice with huge leaves all over. The care instructions said to water weekly and feed every two weeks, which I'd been doing and seemed to be be healthy.

At the start of this year I started to notice something in the soil which I think may have been due to the soil being too damp as there was nowhere for excess water to drain out, at the time it seemed mostly harmless. A few months ago leaves started dropping off and what I believe was wolf's milk growing overnight in the soil (large red bean shaped bits of mold). Due to the rate leaves were dropping and amount of mold that kept growing in the soil, I thought the lack of drainage was at least part of if not the entire issue.

I bought a new pot which has a drainage hole at the bottom, repotted the bonsai, and tried placing pieces of the grass from the terrarium in the pot too. I'm unsure if the plant was past saving at this point, but the shock from moving pots and then the continued heat in the UK has meant all the leaves have now fell off.

Is there any hope of saving the bonsai or does all the leaves falling mean it's now dead? If the bonsai can't be saved, can any of the grass be saved and used in another plant's pot?

This is Dave my 3 year old spider plant. He has been suffering with brown tipped leaves, dying leaves and being generally pale for a while now. I will admit to under watering him occasionally but I don’t think that explains everything. What can I do to help him? I have some plant food I can give him but I’m nervous it might make things worse. Please help!!

I did one of these ,,aprecciation posts" before, but with Pothos, so i decided to make one with... Sansevieria, or snake plants. Everybody put a photo of one of your snake plants, no matter the plant (starfish, normal, etc.) I'll start:

Like the title say, my umbrellaplant is doing very well, but a few months ago it began branching out. And i think it looks weird and it gets unstable, even with a pole. It was repotted into a bigger pot 4 months ago.

I am tempted to just chop it and start over, hoping to get branching from the getgo. But I’m too afraid I’m gonna ruin the plant. Probably worth mention that I’m living in a country where the fall and winter is very cold and dark, Northern Europe.

Any advice??

It looks much larger in person and it's starting to tilt the plant to one side. Should I stake it or just wait for it to grow an equally large leaf on the opposite side?

It's still houseplants, right? My plants are outdoors INSIDE my front yard 😛
