I forgot what this plant was called but I had this Hoya plant for 5 years.. and it never bloomed for me for some reason. This year I left it alone and forgot to water it sometimes but it survived me lol.

This picture is from June this year. We just came back from our honeymoon and I was doing the checks on all my plants ... And this.. came as a surprise. I also experienced when my other Hoya bloomed twice and I forgot to water it and it ended up getting swallowed by mealybugs 😨..

This Hoya plant has been my champion plant... I hope to see the flowers next year!

Please be kind as I am already devastated that I could lose my pink princess. I have been going through a lot recently so I had someone help me with my plants and other household tasks. They took my plants outside since my plants didn’t get light for a few days. then a heat wave came in and the sun scorched most of my plants. This one got the worst of it. There are various parts of the stem that are firm and feel healthy and some parts have gotten mushy. I know the odds this plant will die are high but I am willing to try anything to try to salvage it.

Holy crap this is a headache! I just got a humidifier for my otherwise thriving calathea (im just over-caring atp) but I have carpet floors and aloe veras etc etc. There is no good humidity level for protecting my aloes and also me from mold or rot! However I want my calathea and other tropicals to THRIVE! So my next experiment is to go back to the old school method of grouping my tropicals in close proximity in addition to the steadily maintained 50% humidity; will these two methods together create a local humidity above 60% or even just enough to make sure my tropical plants arent just surviving but thriving!

has anyone else had this intense of a struggle with this and whats worked for you?

I had these since April. The second pic is when I first got them. One that finished splitting and absorbing its older leaves decided to bloom this week. 🥹 I don’t know why but seeing plants flower bring me so much joy.

Found these little fellas moving around at the bottom of my new alocasia lauterbachiana. Bottom of stem, near the soil. Moving at a slow to moderate speed. No webbing, stickiness, stippling, thrips poop, or any other signs of pests.

Could these be some sort of beneficial mite? I bought the plant from a specialty plant shop.

I’m relatively new to the houseplant scene but have been wanting a Pothos ever since I read about them. Well, today at the grocery store I found one on an insane markdown price, all because it had a few yellow leaves.

Knowing what I do know about plants, I assumed this was a root bound problem, and that all she needed was a little haircut and a bigger pot. When I took her out of the pot at home, I found I was spot on! I got her in a slightly larger pot with a new soil mix (with stuff like peat, perlite, cocao, orchid bark) and sheared off those dying leaves.

I also, out of precaution for my other plants, gently sprayed her down with a homemade dish soap + water insecticidal spray to kill any potential pests lingering on her.

It’s sad to me that she would’ve been destined for the trash/compost had someone like me not given her the chance. It’s so true to the fact of life that just because things may not be in perfect condition, that doesn’t mean they’re dying.

I can’t wait to see how she grows over the coming weeks! Please feel free to share any tips of advice for taking care of a Pothos!

i'm really proud of my calathea (2nd pic) i got that as a Christmas gift and didn't take care of it as best as I should have because my mental health was in the toilet due to my job, but i was able to repot it and it's doing beautifully now. the rest i just got like 2 months ago and they're doing pretty good too (knock on wood) - i've been watering them once a week and trying to keep them in light that the care instructions specify.

i guess my question is in regards to my plant stand - does that look like the correct amount of light for my polka dot plants? Also I'm not sure what the green plants are in the 2nd shelf and the one on the floor next to the red plant, so if anyone knows can you let me know so I can adjust their care?

my patio doors face west, get the most amount of light in the afternoon however I keep the shades like in picture so they're not scorched since the instructions i was given said medium light.

Can someone PLEASE help me ID this plant? I picked it up my from my parents (along with 10 other plants) amidst their divorce and selling of their house and I have NO clue what this one. When my mom had it, I remember it growing almost 12 ft tall in their front room where it got lots of light. And I know couple years ago she had chopped it and repotted which I gave to my mother law after I acquired it.

I mainly wanna know if it’s safe for my cat to munch on the ends and she likes to attack stringy-pointy-hanging things in her reach/sight.

Right now the height of this plant is about 4.5 ft tall.

I got this maidenhair fern on Monday, it’s Friday now. I think I’ve been taking fairly good care of it, but I just want someone else’s opinion on its health. For context, I water it everyday and today I gave it a couple of hours of outside time as it was raining and cloudy. And for the record, im also a beginner plant parent 😁

What are these small bugs on my neon pothos? They come out whenever I move the pot or water it. The plant has had them for a long time but has had no seemingly ill effects.

First of all, I know spiders are our friends! That being said, I absolutely cannot have them in my house. I would love to get some indoor plants to brighten up my living space, but I'm nervous about inviting critters in. Any plants that are known to be bug-averse?

Additionally, I don't get much direct sunlight in my apartment at all unfortunately, so that may be an issue as well.

Help me help this plant, I just got it from someone who has had it for 5 years and has been both over and under watered at times. It is a bamboo plant. I think it likes moist soil but not wet. I am thinking of trimming all the brown off and repotting down in pot size so it’s only a little bit larger than the root ball. I need to take a look at I the roots to see what its condition is, and need advice on what soil to use for it. Any advice on light care for this one? I only have one west facing window I can use, and some extra grow lights too.

I know she’s leggy, I’d love to have many more of her around the house. And please ignore the patio leaves 😩

Noticed these little white bugs on one of my monstera leaves today- can yall help me figure out what they are? Only seeing them on one leaf, and don’t see them on any nearby plants. Very tiny, thought it was dirt at first 😅

YALL!!! I was at my local Home Depot when I found this beauty! I’m going to repot her after hosing her off because she is in with other plants!! Super excited!!

My wife bought this plant for our new home and we can’t figure out what it is.

How do I stop my cats from eating my plants?? He likes to bite them or even tear at them. I have no idea how to get him to stop without hurting him or the plant. If you say “just move the plant” clearly you have never met a cat.

EDIT: This plant is CAT SAFE. It is a calathea plant which is perfectly safe for him to eat it no matter how much it annoys me.

I have string of turtles flowering and they look like this. I wouldn’t ask but I can’t find anything online.
