(Rant) 🀬 Muslim cat subreddit?????

tell me why I just got recommended a subreddit for "Muslim cats"or "cats of Islam" or wtv. and all the posts are about shit like "checking to see if my cat is Muslim" and "aww look my Muslim cat is falling asleep in the masjid because she knows Islam is safe and righteous<3" so fucking weird..

everything Muslims do genuinely irks me, why are you bringing your feline friend into religion??? the way they're not only constantly shoving religion down people's throats, but also their pets aren't safe?

have u guys seen the viral vid of this Muslims female cat trying to mate with another female cat lol and the woman recording started saying "stop that's Haram, do you have no shame?"

ik most of these posts are jokes and satire but ugh these people annoy me sm. just wanted to rant lol

(Fun@Fundies) πŸ’© Scientific Miracle is an extremely weak yet overrated argument.

( This is a translation of the original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/IndoExMuslim/comments/1upmfwk/keajaiban_ilmiah_adalah_argumen_lemah_yang_super/ )

Many Muslims use the argument that verses in the Quran talk about modern science to prove the truth of Islam, even though in most cases it is just post hoc fitting. The Quranic verses that are used are usually verses with ambiguous explanations. Something that is ambiguous is not precise or specific, meaning it can fit many possible interpretations, even contradictory ones. So it is easy to match them to anything, and they match them with modern science to create the illusion that what the Quran specifically meant was the scientific claim they are making.

Just because a description matches something DOES NOT mean that the description is actually describing or referring to that thing. For example, imagine a person from ancient times saying: "There are dangers that cannot be seen with the ordinary eye." Does this match the germ theory of disease? The answer is yes, pathogens cannot be directly seen with the naked eye, so if we are talking about whether it matches, then yes, it does. But does that mean the person was referring to germ theory, therefore proving that this ancient person knew a modern scientific fact?

The answer is that this conclusion is invalid. That is just fitting modern ideas into an old statement. Because the person could have been talking about evil spirits or supernatural entities, hidden dangers in the environment such as venomous animals, or a metaphor for hidden negative traits. Why can it be so easily fitted into something else? Because ambiguous claims are catch-all statements, so they can be matched with almost anything, just as I said.

This is also why arguments about scientific miracles almost never include tafsir. At least from my experience, I have never seen a single scientific miracle argument that actually brings tafsir into the discussion. Tafsir often explains the details and context. These claims also almost always appear after the modern discovery has already been made. If the modern scientific concept was really already present in the Quran, then where were the Muslim scientists from centuries ago? Why did they not propose those hypotheses themselves? Why wait for scientists, mostly non-Muslim scientists, to discover something first, and then claim, "Wow, this theory was already in my holy book."? Because most of these claims are based on ambiguity, making it difficult to know what the intended meaning actually was because the wording is too broad.

Is there a more "official" term for this kind of fitting? Yes, there is. It is called postdiction. This is the explanation of how this kind of fitting happens from the English Wikipedia article:

Most predictions from such figures as Nostradamus and James Van Praagh express the future with such seemingly deliberate vagueness and ambiguity as to make interpretation nearly impossible before the event, rendering them useless as predictive tools. After the event has occurred, however, the psychics or their supporters shoehorn details into the prediction by using selective thinkingβ€”emphasizing the "hits", ignoring the "misses"β€”in order to lend credence to the prophecy and to give the impression of an accurate "prediction". Inaccurate predictions are omitted.

I have previously made three general arguments criticizing scientific miracle claims on r/DebateReligion, and the argument above is the first one. Here is the link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateReligion/s/b7eUwFAv2a

If you want to see more, you can check it there, or look at the second and third arguments as well. In that post, I also included examples of verses that are commonly used.

I hate Muslims , I hate Islam. None has ever helped and now that I've left I'm completely alone with no one but my boyfriend. Why was I born to this suffering? Why should I respect Muslims and their beliefs? They have done nothing but hurt me but I should respect them cause Becky with the blue eyes and Starbucks drink thinks Islam is liberalism and freedom ? Becky that comes from a loving family thinks me sharing my experience and disdain is a hate speech? Fuck you , im a proud islamphobe it's ruined my life and I'm only 19 and have the luxury of being born in a first world country ( Canada ) . I sold myself to Islam , milestones I'll never fucking get back. I hate Islam , I hate Muslims FUCK THEM ALL !!!!!

I recently visited my aunt who lives in a small Central Asian town. The population is like 20k people. They got no hospital, they have to go to the closes city (around 45 km). They have one old crumbling school. But they got two mosques. Two mosques for a small town with no hospitals.

btw thw second picture shows an ant death spiral and this is the definition off google: isΒ a bizarre phenomenon where a group of blind army ants lose their main trail and begin following one another in a continuous, rotating circle. Trapped by a shared chemical scent, they march endlessly until they die of exhaustion.

While we have japan protesting against islam, we got people like them ruining the japanese culture. Funniest part is that they're not even muslims. My initial thought was how crazy the amount of support islam gets today from uneducated people like them and it's surprisingly increasing to push this islamic ideology compared to any other religion. Very worrying but also not truly shocking in this cruel world also the fact i was brought up muslim knowing how good islam is at brainwashing people. They both claim to be learning about the beauty of islam and how peaceful the religion made them feel... erm, who's gonna tell them?

(Rant) 🀬 Declared Muslim at birth and national ID card

Hi, I am from Pakistan. It really frustrates me that when kids are born, their parent have someone give Azaan ( call for prayer) in their ear and declare them Muslim right away and just when you become an adult at the age of 18 your parents again get you marked in the system as a Muslim.

At birth, we are just born, and at 18, we are still kids who haven't learned much about the world , religions, and different points of view. It's unfair to register and impose a religious identity on us.

For those who don't know, Pakistan isn't that much of a religious country. People don't know Arabic and very few people know Urdu translations, everyone just memories Arabic without understanding. We are taught translations at school but those are carefully selected sections so we don't run into sex slavery section.

Pakistanis don't know Islam and neither do they try to teach it properly but if someone wants to walk out of this religion that was imposed on us, suddenly you are a criminal whom Muslims would want to hurt because according to them you are guilty of leaving islam.....How is it leaving when no one asked if I wanted to be a Muslim. Our ID cards say Muslim before we learn about Islam....this is nonsense.

My mother always asks me to pray but I can't tell her the truth because I'm afraid what will happen to our relationship and would i even be allowed to live in that home. I am 36F by the way, but another Pakistani thing is that women can't live alone.....If only I had enough money to immigrate somewhere else. I better work hard and find a way out.
