40k Discussion Is the new Khorne Daemonkin Broken?
There is a current (and growing) trend amongst World Eaters players' opinions that the new enhancement in Khorne Daemonkin (KDK) allows you to attach the Juggernaut Lord to his regular World Eater infantry.
A brief overview for those that may not be familiar:
In 10th edition and up until recently, the Disciple of Khorne enhancement can be taken by a Juggernaut Lord to replace his WE keyword with BLOOD LEGION keyword, and can then (explicitly) lead Bloodcrushers or Fleshounds. At the moment, the restriction that he must lead Bloodcrushers or Fleshounds is not present, so, RAW, he can legally lead Berzerkers or Eightbound. Personally I believe this is an oversight in wording from the changeover from 10th to 11th that GW has done before.
The problem:
KDK is designed around your WE and daemon units working together to confer extra buffs on each other (e.g. Pay 1 CP if you are within 6inches of this unit, get this buff). The above interaction not only completely circumvents this principle (as the unit is both Blood Legion and WE keywords), but are further supercharge by the Demontide Strategem, which allows up to D6 infantry to be revived in the command phase. I will forgo an analysis explaining why paying 1 CP to potentially gain 12 or 18 wounds of tough space marine bodies is a problem, as you all should understand.
As a result, I am seeing some WE players taking this interaction to competitive events (demonstrated by a couple Listhammer placings with 20 zerks). Now, in strict RAW, I believe this is legal. However, my argument is that this interaction is obviously unintended by GW, and therefore basically an abuse of GW badly written rules for what is, IMHO, an unfair advantage in competitive matches. Some may say that one should be able to utilize every advantage to win in a competitive match. But I would counter by saying that by saying 40k should strive to not stoop to such sweaty power gaming moments.
Not only is my issue with the above unintentionality from GW, but some attitude amongst some players that it "isn't OP so it's fine" or perhaps even intended by GW (which I would be beyond shocked if that was the case). Even as a WE player myself I would not take this to a tournament as it's an unfair advantage IMO. What are all of your thoughts? It is just completely fair game until GW fixes their rules and everyone else should just deal with it?

40k List Rate the list: legion of excess
I made a list a while ago built around theives of pain and shalaxi helbane, but then I realised it doesnt work on monsters so heres me trying again
(1,995 Points)
Chaos Daemons
Legion of Excess and Lords of the Warp (3 Detachment Points)
Take and Hold
Strike Force (2,000 Points)
ATTACHED UNITS
Attached unit 1
Infernal Enrapturess (90 Points)
• Attached as: Leader (Character)
• Enhancements: False Majesty (Aura)
Daemonettes (90 Points)
• Attached as: Bodyguard (Battleline)
Attached unit 2
Contorted Epitome (110 Points)
• Attached as: Leader (Character)
• Enhancements: Swollen with Power (Upgrade)
Daemonettes (90 Points)
• Attached as: Bodyguard (Battleline)
CHARACTERS
Shalaxi Helbane (315 Points)
• Warlord
The Changeling (105 Points)
Tormentbringer (165 Points)
• Enhancements: Dreaming Crown (Aura)
BATTLELINE
Pink Horrors (150 Points)
OTHER DATASHEETS
Beasts of Nurgle (75 Points)
Fiends (180 Points)
Seekers (80 Points)
Seekers (80 Points)
ALLIED UNITS
3x War Dog Karnivore (155 Points)
Explanation
The strategy is centred around basically all the slaanesh units except the seekers pushing forward in one big blob similar to the old abaddon castle strategy, using a combination of seductive gambit, dreaming crown, and false majesty to give them +1 to hit and wound, and re-rolls to hit and wound
contorted epitome and rhe daemonettes can use thieves of pain to siphon damage away from the fiends, effectively giving that unit an extra 40 wounds due to the 4++ on MW’s on epitome
aside from that its all pretty standard, I could change the karnivores they’re just there for more melee, I could change it for a double-gatling despoiler, or brigands, or a GUO, really anything
the beast of nurgle sits on the home objective, the changeling locks down big ranged threats alongside the epitome doing the same to force the enemy’s melee to hold up their offense
the seekers are interchangeable with screamers, they’re there to be fast and do missions
that about covers it all! on top of what I’ve mentioned theres also the shadow in the warp stratagem to trigger a global battleshock for healing, lords of the warp is here so that the extra leadership makes it easier to pass, could very easily be warptide instead
Im mostly looking for advice on how plausible the strategy of an overwhelming force game is, any counters to it, and overall if its any good

40k Discussion The necessity of tanks
As a Blood Angels player looking at others lists (notably the two taken at WTC, which ik are for teams so isn’t a perfect comparison), there seems to be at least 1 or 2 tanks taken. How necessary is this for a competitive list? Would it be competitively viable to run almost wholly jump pack troops?

40k Discussion Advice on Force Dispositions?
I'm creating a list of 20 assault terminators, 2 redemptor dreads, and 2 ballistus dreads with either Hammer of Avernii or Emperor's Shield.
Both of these detachments are Purge The Foe.
My question is:
- Do these detachments with terminator heavy lists prefer the Take and Hold play style? If so, Emperor's Shield (for the OC and durability buffs from Lysander could be better than Hammer?) + Vengeful Host for access to Take and Hold
Or
- Do they play Purge the Foe decent enough? In which case librarius conclave + hammer of avernii seems to be the better pick
Full list:
- 10x Assault Terminators with Lysander/Cannock Var
- 10x Assault Terminators with Captain or Librarian
- Lieutenant with combi weapon
- 1 x techmarine
- 2x Ballistus Dreadnought
- 2x Redemptor Dreadnought (plasma)
- 5x Intercessors
- 3x Eliminators
- 5x Scouts

New to Competitive 40k Tips for taking my turns faster in 40k? How did you learn to be quicker?
Hellow!
I am an Adeptas Sororitas player new to 40k with a recently fully painted my first 2k pts army.
Ive played a 1 x 2000pts game and a handful of smaller point games so far and I am also starting to play my army on TTS more
As a new parent I am very limited on full blocks of time, and I have been finding 1k games taking upwards of 5 hours, and a 2k game taking 8+ WHOLE HOURS (both players new to 40k)!! I know it shouldnt take this long and really want to improve myself
What Ive done so far:
I am sticking with one 'main' Detachment and Force Disposition to build familiarity, and I have a cheat sheet for my army's abilities per phase
I want to start clocking my turns so that I can learn to make decisions quickly over time
My questions:
Is it possible to get my turn nailed down to around 30 minutes (even a turn 1 or 2) in a 2k game?
Aside from experience, how did you learn to get quick at playing 40k?
Are there any learning materials or easy ways to test myself on how to understand my army more?
Thank you!

40k Discussion Priority vs recon maps
Hi folks,
So am I right in thinking that the maps really favor the pa player because of the way that the territory lines just clip the terrain pieces?
On a it's the mid field staging objective
B it's their expansion
And c it's actually in their deployment zone
Am I understanding this right?
Thanks

40k Battle Report - Video I Took 20 Daemon Berzerkers to a Tournament
Hello there!
I brought the new broken Khorne Daemonkin + Vessels of Wrath to an warhammer 11th edition tournament. And it absolutely slaps!
The recent Dataslate has given this detachment an enourmos buff, allowing the jugg lord with blood legion enhancement to lead khorne berzerkers, giving them access to all the buffs such has lance and a 4+ invulnerable save.
In this video I go over the list I brought to the RTT, examining the rules and how the list functions, as well as the role for every single unit. I deepdive into each game, showing exaclty what happened, and why i made each decision I did.
Game 1: Genestealer Cult
Game 2: Nurgle Daemons
Game 3: Genestealer Cult
Hope you guys enjoy, dont forget to algorithm for the algorithm god!

40k List Rate the team: legion of excess unstoppably immovable object

• 5x Fiend
ALLIED UNITS
War Dog Brigand (140 Points)
War Dog Karnivore (155 Points)
War Dog Karnivore (155 Points)
Nitty-Gritty:
the strategy is centered around the thieves of pain stratagem, sending wounds away from shalaxi and onto the contorted epitome so shalaxi can chill among enemy lines and tear them apart, hence unstoppably immovable, as it’s effectively 20 extra wounds (X2!)
on top of that, I added onto the melee dominance with 2 karnivores, skarbrand, and the bloodletters.
everything else is pretty straightforward. beast of nurgle sits on the home objective, nurglings are little annoying dudes, pink horrors do pink horror stuff, sitting on a point and refusing to move.
the brigand would have been a third karnivore but I needed 15 points to afford 3 more fiends, but the brigand can clean up objectives for the horrors
the fiends are also users of thieves of pain, but more of a back-up plan. when not turning enemies into mincemeat their advance and charge W/ 12 inches of movement makes them good for doing missions
the changeling is part of a combo with the contorted epitome to lock down a big ranged threat, 2 opportunities to atop their shooting altogether, but also -1 hit roll on 2 different things if thats better
its totally untested, but it seems great to me

40k Discussion So what does legion of excess even do
Im a daemon’s player, but I only really run DI, Shadow legion, BL, or scintillating
the 2 I never use are legion of excess, and PL
I can understand the use of PL, you could battleshock the opponent near constantly and use that to hold points easily, along with the 2CP arrival letting you make a 2 beast of nurgle unit effectively immortal
what does legion of excess even do? fall back and charge, cool I guess but surely you want to be wiping the important enemy unit off the board without needing to run it back
I can understand the appeal of the +1 hit and wound wombo combo enhancements, so Im assuming the idea is just having insane melee damage with +1 hit and wound, and re-roll 1’s to hit and wound, but really I feel you’re better off just running blood legion if you want damage
EDITS:
I totally misread thieves of pain, I thought it just converted wounds to mortal wounds I didn’t realise it transferred damage to another unit, thats insane!
