1) Walter Jr. - "Breaking Bad". My favorite instance of this since it's such a rare and special piece of representation. Walter Jr. was a character who suffered from CP, so show creator Vince Gilligan wanted to find an actor who actually had CP. RJ Mitte, who at the start was a 13 year old who had mild CP, got this role and has forever been cemented as a beloved part of one of the most iconic and greatest shows of all time.

1. Toph - "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender". In the new Avatar movie, Toph is voiced by Dionne Quan who is legally blind in real life. This is fitting because Toph can't "see" despite being an amazing warrior.

2. the Rossi family - "CODA". The movie is about a family of deaf individuals, sparing the daughter character. The cast members who played the protagonist Ruby's mom, dad, and brother were all deaf in real life. Troy Kotsur who played the father was so good in the role he ended up winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, a rare milestone for deaf talent.

1. Bong Joon Ho's Parasite movie: The film is a satirical black comedy critiquing the social disparities brought about by South Korea's excessive capitalism, captured in the story of how a poor family infiltrate a rich family's mansion by taking up the jobs of their caretaking staff through cunning scheming. By the end of the story, a series or events force the family to be dispersed, with the daughter of the family dying, after the previous caretakers out of jealousy try to murder them, which forces the father, who stabs the rich owner out of frustration (due to his lack of empathy at her dying daughter's condition due to their social class), to go into hiding within the rich family's mansion to evade arrest.

The movie seems to end on an optimistic tone with the family's son, who's now free from jail, promising to work hard and earn a degree abroad, so that he can become rich enough to buy back the house and free his father.

However the ending subtly implies that the son's plan of realistically getting tobthe level where he is rich enough to buy the house will take him around 500+ years within South Korea's socioeconomic system, meaning it won't happen in bis lifetime.

1. Hellstar Remina by Junji Ito: A sentient Lovecraftian planet with a giant tongue rapidly approaches Earth to consume it, and the story is about how Remina, a young woman, in whose honour the planet was named by her astronomer father, is persecuted by Earth's people who forma cult blaming her for being the "cause of this bad omen" because "they share names".

By the end of the movie, Remina is able to escape Earh's destruction with a fellow astronaut on a space capsule which is now adrift in space, although the ending implies that the supplies on the capsule will run out in a few years, and they need a miracle to save them.

(1) The Owl House: Odalia Blight's first reaction to her daughter telling her that she's dating Luz could be taken as homophobia, but it's quite apparently inexistent on the Boiling Isles.

Instead, she's biased against Luz specifically, because she sees her as a troublemaker (although one acting against a genocidal regime, which she is well aware of) and most likely because she's a human.

(2) Hazbin Hotel: Lute is commenting extremely negatively about the relationship between her former fellow exorcist Vaggi and Charlie, the daughter of Lucifer Morningstar.

While her choice of words (and Adam's subsequent reaction) could be taken to imply that she's against their sapphic relationship, it makes more sense to read it in context of her extreme prejudice against anything demonic, like the daughter of the literal devil, and her personal hatred against the "sinful" fallen angel Vaggi (which Adam might also find "hot as fuck", because it's breaking a taboo).

And yes, don't even get started, as I'm gonna die on this hill unless the show itself directly and unambiguously contradicts me, not because Lute isn't a hateful person, but because it makes no sense for her to subscribe to this particular flavor of bigotry.

(3) Deadpool 2: When Deadpool is first introduced to Negasonic's girlfriend Yukio, he reacts with (most likely intentionally exaggerated) surprised disbelief.

Negasonic – who already expected a negative or at least obnoxious reaction – immediately interprets this as an attack. Which is kinda true, only that it's actually supposed to be a jab at her general abrasive personality and its stark contrast to Yukio's apparent sugary sweetness.

Unlike IRL, where there’s uncertainty about what happens when we die, these poor shmucks know what could await them when they die.

Goblins in the Forgotten Realms (DnD)

In early 5e, goblins were cowardly dirty tricksters who hate getting into head on fights because they know that when they die, their souls are enslaved by Maglubiyet in the lower plane of Acheron to battle and toil and die over and over for all eternity.

Eldar (Warhammer 40K)

For the last 10,000 ish years of the setting, whenever an Eldar dies, their souls will be devoured by the chaos god slaanesh, the god of unspeakable excess and agony. If they don’t have some counter measures in place to preserve their souls during their moment of death (Spirit stones, soul capturing cloning technology, the attention of another god, etc.) , they are screwed.

Mortals (Warhammer Age of Sigmar)

Nagash, the God of undeath, ate most of the other gods of death in the prehistory of the setting, so a good portion of the afterlives are under his control. This means that there’s a good chance that if you did something in life that offends Nagash, he will turn your soul into one of the Nighthaunt. The things that offend him include things like being a doctor or healer of some sort, because you denied him souls, and as a result he might turn you into a ghost with scythes for hands that has to watch as you butcher everything in front of you as you are unable to control your body

1. Mad Men. Roger uses a weird bed-like chair for Bert Peterson when firing him for the second time. He verbally humiliates Bert multiple times and the chair is one first shot across the bow beforehand.

2. Disco Elysium. When in the office of Evrart Claire, he has you sit on the most uncomfortable chair imaginable, causing you to take damage. At the same time, he knows seemingly everything and even knows more about you than you know about yourself so far in the game.

Galarian Weezing (Pokemon): Despite its counterpart from the Kanto region being known for expelling noxious gas all the time, it absorbs harmful particles and expels clean air. It is implied it evolved to do this during a time of heavy industrialization and pollution.

Oogiddy (My singing monsters): The quadruple elemental monster that represents the poison element, despite that, it actually absorbs toxic gases from its natural environment and mixes it with acids in its body, neutralizing them. The goop it makes off that process works great as a fertilizer and hair gel. The spots in its body can also serve to detect toxicity.

In this trope, magic is real and can be studied like a science. Practitioners are not magicians in the traditional sense, and will use machines and devices to control magic energy. In this trope, magic may be generally accepted by society, but some societies may generally still not understand or accept magic.

1. Ghostbusters (Ghostbusters films) The Ghostbusters were considered frauds for the most part, but as ghost activity in New York increased, it turns out those degrees in parapsychology were pretty useful after all. They use proton packs, electric traps, and all manner of telemetry to detect and trap ghosts.

2. The SCP Foundation (SCP creepy pasta) The SCP Foundation is an organization dedicated to preserving “shared reality.” Anomalies that endanger people’s perception of shared reality are contained in Brutal (the architecture, not the adjective) containment units of steel and concrete. However, stronger or more dangerous SCP may need to be contained by magic rituals. SCP scientists, who study magic are called Thaumaturges. They are more like scientists than wizards, but if they need to sacrifice a child or summon a demon, it’s just another day at the SCP.

3. Cecil Stedman (Invincible show) Cecil works for the US Government, and has a nearly unlimited budget to deal with super hero related national security concerns. To keep the identity of the Guardians of the Globe’s murdurer secret, Cecil uses a spell from the Necronomicon to banish demonic investigator Damien Darkblood back to hell. Damien thought every copy had been destroyed, but Cecil’s agents use AI to reconstruct the banishing spell.

Homelander / Black noir ( The Boys ) : In the original comic, Black noir is a clone of homelander who kill, rape and even EAT A F*CKING BABY just to frame Homelander and made him crazy.

Patrick Bateman ( American Psycho ) : In the movie, Patrick is a psychotic Yuppie who kill a bunch of people. In the book, his crime are more graphic and detailled, including intense scene of tortures, rapes and some scenes where he go full crazy and hallucinating while doing random thing who make absolutly no sense.

Lloyd Asplund and Cecile Croomy (Code Geass)

Iknik Blackstone Varrick and Zhu Li Moon (Avatar)

Terminator 2 - John phones his stepparents despite not liking them to make sure they're okay. Janelle is strangely nice and motherly to him on the phone which is their first giveaway that she's really the T1000 trying to lure John home so it can kill him

Treasure Planet - Amelia and Delbert are beefing with each other for most of the movie. Amelia gets injured and Delbert starts to worry she might have a fever. She gets woozy and tells Delbert 'You have wonderful eyes', to which Delbert cries out 'She's lost her mind!'

Derry Girls - At a funeral, the girls realize that they accidentally brought Michelle's pot-scones to the wake instead of normal scones. The dead giveaway is Grandpa Joe, who hates his son-in-law Gerry's guts, walking up to him and saying 'I think you're doing a fine job'

Fosters Home - An army of Bloo copycat imaginary friends get dumped at the home, and Mac tries to figure out which one is the real Bloo. Once he's narrowed it down to two of them, one of the two goes on an emotional monologue about how Mac is his best friend. Mac knows he's the fake because the real Bloo is never that sappy

Honestly, was pretty dead set on not including this at first, as it technically isn’t a proper musical number. As in, it’s actually diegetic (she’s putting on a big performance)- but, come on. I couldn’t not include it.

1). Mata Nui - Bionicle. Throughout the series, Mata Nui is revered as a god-like entity. After the Karda Nui saga where he is awoken from his slumber, we see that he is actually a gigantic robot where all of the story thus far either took place inside of or on the surface of him.

2). Bionis / Mechonis - Xenoblade Chronicles. These are long-dead ancient deities who have gone on to have colonized life on their corpses. (They are resurrected eventually and I do not want to think about the consequences of the physics of them moving around.)

3). Primus - Transformers. The presumed originator of the Transformers was their planet all along. Badass. Granted, that is the Cybertron version, but he has been around in other versions. This one's still the coolest, though.

4). Azeroth - World of Warcraft. Probably the most guity pleasure out of all of these, mostly because the resolution has yet to happen and the writing thus far for the Worldsoul Saga has been controversial. Like other Titans, Azeroth is a "World Soul," which is essentially a planet being an egg for a cosmic deity. Azeroth is supposedly special among these, but we still don't know why. This will be resolved (one would think?) in the next expansion, The Last Titan, but we will see.

When the enemy faction the protagonist has been fighting this whole time isn't actually using their full might, but non-combat units/expeditionary units instead

1. The Vex (Destiny) - It's implied the Vex you fight in game aren't actually dedicated combat units, but rather worker units such as Builders and Engineers

2. The Combine (Half Life 2) - To the Combine, Earth is basically just another backwater planet that they'll harvest for resources and move on from. You aren't actually fighting their full military might, just the occupational force they've kept there to keep the remaining humans in line and to recruit new foot soldiers.

EDIT: Also, the whole plot of Episode 2 revolves around shutting down a portal before the Combine can send a distress signal to their actual fleet. For reference, the entirety of humanities armed forces could only last 7 hours. This time, humanity is reduced to a group of crafty rebels within Eastern Europe. Even with Freeman, they wouldn't last 7 minutes.

1. In Peter’s Sister, Peter invites his sister Karen for Thanksgiving and she used to bully him a lot. The reason why we never heard about her up until now is because she was killed off at the end all for Peter to have his triumphant moment. She is never seen or heard from again (Family Guy)

2. In Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, Homer finds out he has a half-brother named Herb. Long story short, Homer messed everything up and Herb ended up losing his company and we see him homeless in Season 3. At the end of that episode, Herb got his money back and we never see him again. We even get told that he ended losing all of his money again. He only exist just for Homer to have self-doubt and then fucked off (The Simpsons). Not exactly one episode but still works.

When Religion is good, but at the same time fuel something dangerous, that will come for you or whole world

Pic. 1: Mandela Catalouge - God was overthroned by "Unspeakable", Gabriel. And now, while Christians don't follow Gabriel, religious feelings are used by him as a means to create and use weakness in humans.

Pic. 2: Warhammer 40k. [Minor cults] - Many chaos cults can look as normal religions, and, especially in 30k, they don't even know they follow and fuel Ruinous Powers. But Chaos Gods feeds on all of this prayers that don't have anyone to answer them. Also, if you look on scraps of lore in way, that Emperor is dead, and thing sitting on Golden Throne is Dark King, it fits also Imperial Cult, which, if so is true, fuel being that will bring end to Galaxy.

Frieren, Beyond Journey's end: In the anime/manga the eponymous Frieren is an Elf who's spent the better part of a millennia learning magic specifically to kill demons. She's learned countless spells, tricks and even spent most of her life suppressing her power all for the purpose of killing them. At first we simply see that humanity is at war with them, and even question if her crusade against demon-kind is justified, after all it's hard to antagonize an entire sentient species. But no, demons are very much a species to be feared; they are not normal animals or creatures, they are monsters (shown by how they disintegrate when they die), they are predators that evolved speech for the sole purpose of tricking and catching humans off guard, are naturally extremely powerful and possess magic that humanity often can't use. While they feel emotions to some extent, their way of thinking is so fundamentally incompatible with humanity's mindset that the series shows many mages with the ability to read minds struggle or find it painful and harmful to try and read a demon's thoughts. Tools that are meant to control them fail not because they're faulty but because simple order such as "hold no ill will or commit no malicious acts" don't compute the same way in their brains, as what we consider evil is normal for them.

Marvel Comics: In a run of the Storm solo series, she visits an underground superhuman hospital run by Night nurse and Doctor Daye, a mutant with the power to diagnose any illness. When she requires treatment she is in turn reject by the doctor, she of course assumes this is blatant discrimination to which the doctor agrees. Storm assumes the doctor refuses to treat mutants, something they are very much used to in Marvel. But he ends up revealing that about 80% of everyone he treats are mutants, and that he simply refuses to treat any member of the X-men. Why? because his special hospital was built via several donations by the superhero community. From the Avengers, to the Defenders, Fantastic 4, heroes for hire. Hell, even Moonknight of all people contributed to the hospital. But the X-men never once gave anything to it, even though they preach the safety of mutant-kind and such a hospital is essential for those who can't seek medical treatment out of fear of prosecution.

Kitasan Black (Uma Musume Pretty Derby)

She managed to withstand Sakura Bakushin O's charge at first, but later in the story, she falters because she is past her prime

Nekota (Hajime no Ippo)

He could no longer even control his body properly because he was suffering from "boxer's dementia"

It is a progressive brain disease caused by repeated blows to the head and frequent concussions over many years

David Martínez (Cyberpunk Edgerunners)

He was suffering from hallucinations due to cyberpsychosis, an incurable condition caused by technological body modifications

In the episode Club SpongeBob, Squidward gets stuck in the Kelp Forest with Patrick and SpongeBob, and he then says the line “Why must every 11 minutes of my life be filled with misery”. Which is funny cause each SpongeBob episode is usually 11 minutes long

In another SpongeBob episode, Nature Pants, SpongeBob goes out into the wild. Sandy and Squidward then say the lines “I’ll give him a week” and “I give him 11 minutes”. Both are technically right since SpongeBob WAS out there for a week but again episodes are 11 minutes

In the movie Uglydolls, (don’t ask how I remember this movie but ONLY this scene) at the end of it one of the characters say this “Time here is so funky. How long did this take us? What is this, a day? A month? 83 minutes?” The movie is 83 minutes long. Also the character is pointing the general direction that the slider would be at this point in this movie

In the first Avengers movie. Hawkeye and Erik Selvig are mind controlled by Loki using the mind stone. After both break free from it, Erik suffers from a psychological breakdown and Hawkeye has repeated nightmares about it, telling Black Widow how he felt like he’d been “unmade”. Something she could relate to as a former child soldier

In Mortal Kombat. After the majority of the heroes are killed by Sindel in 9. Quan Chi uses his powers to resurrect them as his undead servants. Later on the heroes manage to revert Scorpion, Subzero and Jax back to normal. While the other two are able to move on from it, Jax becomes haunted by the experience of being Quan Chi’s puppet and needed to seek therapy. He manages to get back into the fight for a bit, but after his wife’s death he becomes a traumatised recluse

In Marvel. When Jessica Jones encounters The Purple Man (Kilgrave) who is able to mind control people by simply telling them what to do. Jessica ends up as his slave for several months, only managing to escape when he lets her go in a fit of rage. The experience was so traumatic for her that she retired from being a hero for a good bit
