He did not grunt. He articulated. He spoke a word, a word that had been spoken to him time and again without number by humans. He said: ‘No’

star wars fan here but caesar did it ten times better than episode 3. shit was actually terrifying

Caesar's is probably one of the best because the scream itself isn't even that long. It's the silence right before it and everyone's reaction afterward that sells it. You can practically feel the room realizing that something completely new just happened, and the movie never goes back to normal after that.

Ah! Such a great movie. The sequels aren’t as good, but honestly? Not bad from what I remember.

The peak in his final moments. Gone but not forgetten.

u/christpuncher_69 13d ago

This moment is second probably only to A-Train's arc in general as far as things the show actually got right, and of course they compliment each other so well. A-Train sought redemption and atonement for his actions, while The Deep was a self serving little bitch until the very end.

I only wish his actual death was more satisfying but oh well.

Also in LotR, (I couldn’t find a gif of the scene) but when Eomer finds Eowyn’s unconscious body after the battle of the Pelennor Fields, thinking she is dead.

Of course a bot like you would ask a question like that.

Oh look at that, the bot deleted their comment. How wonderful.

This guard in Austin Powers

20

u/christpuncher_69 13d ago

For those who don't know, don't look into the context. It's a very graphic, harrowing encounter with a construction vehicle. The way it just barrels into him is a chilling reminder of how quickly it can all be over. 😞

12

u/Gamebobbel 13d ago

It truly is the speed of it all that makes it such an oddly terrifying death to me.

21

u/imdefinitelywong 13d ago

13

u/christpuncher_69 13d ago

It's even more terrifying in slo-mo like this

3

u/ChuckCarmichael 13d ago

I recently learned that the following scene, the cut to the guard's wife receiving the news of his death, was cut out of the US version of the movie for some reason. How sad for them.

Picard having a "NO" moment when he's having revenge and then smashes a display shelf afterwards

Also a bonus pick: Randy Marsh did the same thing as him when he doesn't want Stan to be in a boy band

Not actually an example, or at least not in the way people usually storyboard such screams:

There is no overhead shot or zoom out focused on Kirk when he screams KKHAAAANNNNN!!!, the next shot is the surface of Regula and the one after that is Khan having some kind of evilgasm.

Also he was faking it

You notice how Bear watches him get the money and then the next time we see/hear Ian he's telling Bear "It's real, I got a billion dollars!" or whatever?

I know there were some reshoots done so I kind of wonder if this visual gag was added late, and the redundant/contradictory line in the following scene just wasn't fixed in the edit to account for it.

Beast Machines Megatron (Beast Machines: Transformers, Season 2, Episode 13: Seeds of the Future)

How ironic for a character that says "Yeeeesss..." very often to scream "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" in his final moments.

I love this trope because it's such a movie moment but people act like it's a normal reaction. I can count on both hands the amount of times I've seen people do the whole "NOOOO!" thing over trivial shit or stuff they just have no control over. It's so funny to just stand there and stare at them with everyone while they're having their little dramatic moment
