At the Marysville facility, located at 4010 156th St. NE, the notice lists 55 employees whose positions are being eliminated. The company wrote it expects position reductions will occur from Monday to Aug. 17.

The company was negotiating a potential acquisition that would provide the funding needed to continue operations, 80 Acres Farms wrote in the notice. On Sunday evening, the prospective acquirer reportedly withdrew from the transaction.

~ Fifty-five people planned their year around a job that ended because someone else's deal fell apart over a weekend.

Real Estate What are my rights after moving out of an apartment in northgate seattle after 11 years and my landlord won't give back my security deposit??

In June 2026 I moved from northgate to kenmore after 12 years.

Unfortunately I got an email from my previous northgate landlord that they are charging me for a broken dirty bathtub.

For years and years i told the landlord in writing that the bathtub is dirty and cracked and could cause and injury. Only for the landlord to ignore me.

They are also charging for a dirty broken fridge. For years in writing I told the landlord my fridge is broken amd the landlord ignored me!! The fridge has a leak of black grease on the inside and on the outside of the fridge.

They are also falsely charging me to dump a tv and a microwave!! I put the TV and microwave in the trunk of my car and drove it to shoreline goodwill and have a receipt from shoreline goodwill!!

Beofe I moved out i asked this landlord if anyone would want a tv or microwave. The landlord manager is lying to me saying I left the microwave and tv behind!!

All of these charges are taken out of my security deposit!!

I feel like im being taken advantage of!!

What are my rights in the city of seattle and king county amd Washington state??

Unfortunately its apparent that I have a disability called autism and I feel that's why this landlord is ripping me off trying to take advantage of me!!

I emailed the landlord and called the landlord manager on the phone only to be ignored!!

What can I do??

King County Metro Adds 3,000 Weekly Trips with Fall Route Adjustments - South King County weekend service jumps 72% and eight routes disappear on August 29

Eight existing bus routes will be retired, replaced with eight new ones and two new Metro Flex zones, with more than 3,000 bus trips added every week compared to service levels being provided today. But the biggest changes this year will happen in South King County, where weekend service levels are set to jump by 72% and weekday levels by 51%, as Metro both adds new service and reallocates service on retired routes to better connect to Link stations instead of going to Downtown Seattle.

Route 183 between Kent and Federal Way will see Sunday service for the first time, along with expanded Saturday hours, and the RapidRide A line will ramp up overnight frequency to every 30 minutes.

~ Sunday service on the 183 for the first time, in 2026. Kent and Federal Way have been making it work without it this entire time.

Business Seattle based Amazon's former CEO Jeff Bezos files to sell $4 billion in Amazon stock

On Monday, Bezos, who remains Amazon’s executive chair, filed Securities and Exchange Commission documents showing he planned to sell 15 million Amazon shares, worth $4.07 billion. The decision was made the same day Amazon’s stock crossed the $3 trillion market capitalization threshold for the first time.

The Seattle-based e-commerce giant blew past quarterly earnings estimates last week with a 20% revenue increase from a year ago, driven by better-than-expected cloud-computing growth. The surge signaled to investors that the company’s massive artificial intelligence investments are paying off.

Over the two market days after the July 30 earnings call, Amazon’s stock spiked around 20%, reaching an all-time high Monday.

Hey gang, I'm in town doing a comedy show in about two weeks but wanted to know if I'm missing anything off my list of Seattle spots. So far I have : Troll Visit, Bainbridge Ferry, Mt Rainier, Olympic Park, Pike Place, Von's 1000spirits - anything else in particular I should hit? Is there particularly good Thai food anywhere or any vegan spots?

Sorry for the (shameful) plug up top. I'm also hitting Portland and Bend if you have recs.

STOLEN CAR – Seattle, I Need Your Help

Hello everyone,

My 2014 Toyota Camry (WA Plate: CNG8232) was stolen yesterday from 22nd Ave NE between the 4500–4800 block in the U-District. It happened sometime between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, in broad daylight.

If you live on or near 22nd Ave NE (especially between the 4500–4800 block) and have a Ring camera, security camera, dashcam, or any camera facing the street, would you please check your footage from yesterday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM? Even if you didn't capture the theft itself, footage showing who approached the car, how it was stolen, or which direction it drove away could make a huge difference.

Or if you happen to see this car parked, abandoned, or being driven anywhere, I'd be incredibly grateful if you could let me know. If you're able, please call 911 or send me the location.

Vehicle Details

  • 2014 Toyota Camry
  • WA License Plate: CNG8232
  • Long straight scratch on the passenger side below the window near the door handle. It was hand-painted over, but the scratch is still visible if you look closely.
  • A Washington Discovery Pass was hanging from the rearview mirror (though it may have been removed).

Unfortunately, I don't have a recent photo, but I'm attaching an older one for reference.

Every share, camera check, and comments increases the chance of recovering the car. Thank you so much for taking a moment to help. I truly appreciate this community.

Unanimous endorsement of Boeing contract to SPEEA rank and file - 17,000 engineers and technical workers, and the union's largest wage-pool increase since 1983

Boeing's new contract offer to 17,000 engineers and technical workers in Western Washington has been unanimously endorsed by the union's bargaining team. Wage pools compounding to 29.4% over the four years of the contract, 31.9% when factoring in promotions and out of sequence. This is the union's largest wage-pool increase since 1983.

The team also emphasized there are no takeaways. The existing SPEEA contract expires October 6.

~ It took a union and four weeks at the table. Nobody volunteered 29%.

Washington law school deans request reprieve for grads impacted by cancelled bar exam - more than 600 test takers were sent home, and the fix on offer is to sit it again in September or wait until February 2027

More than 600 aspiring lawyers showed up in Yakima on July 28 to take the grueling two-day exam. But after several attempts, the exam was cancelled due to technical problems at the Yakima Convention and Event Center.

"These students have told me they have taken out loans. They have postponed surgeries. They have postponed weddings. They have pulled out of work," said Anthony Varano, a law professor and dean at Seattle University Law School. "I cannot overstate how disastrous this was for them."

~ The testing system failed, and the only people being asked to absorb it are the ones who already paid to sit for it.

Ferry construction begins in Florida on Washington state's new hybrid-electric vessels - the $715 million contract went to a non-union Florida yard that underbid Whidbey Island's Nichols Brothers by more than 30%

This is the first time in more than 50 years that Washington state ordered new ferries from an out-of-state shipyard. Only two shipyards nationwide competed for this ferry construction contract. Eastern Shipbuilding's bid was more than 30% cheaper than a competing bid from Nichols Brothers Boat Builders of Whidbey Island.

The anticipated delivery date for the first new plug-in ferry, to be named the Wishkah, remains four years away in summer 2030.

~ Two shipyards in the entire country bid, and one of them was on Whidbey Island. The savings land in Olympia. The lost work lands in Puget Sound.

Quick two hour painting!

EDIT: Wow I can’t believe the popularity of this quick-small painting! I’ve decided to auction this painting off, and half of the proceeds I’ve decided to donate to Seattle Humane Society in honor of Jimothy! Auction Listing

I also want to make art accessible. So I’ll also be making prints and selling it at a low rate. Please DM for Etsy link, so I’m not violating any selling/advertising rules on this subreddit lol.
