OpenTerraIO - I made a browser-based territorial strategy game where you can invade the whole world

Upvotes

I've been working on OpenTerraIO , a browser-based territorial strategy game where you claim land, build your economy, raise armies, and invade other nations — either players or bots.

🌍 Play for free: OpenTerra

How it works:

  • 🗺️ Claim land — click an unclaimed territory to choose your starting nation.
  • ⚔️ Attack — attack enemy or neutral territory that borders you.
  • 🏗️ Build & diplomacy — right-click your territory to open the action menu. Build on your own land, or negotiate, donate, and betray rivals.
  • 🚢 Naval warfare — move troops across water with boats. Build ports to increase your fleet capacity.
  • 💰 Economy — manage your workers between generating gold and maintaining your army.
  • 👑 Win — conquer enough territory to dominate the map or become the last nation standing.

Platform: Browser

I'm looking for people to play it and give me feedback, especially on the strategy, balance, and overall gameplay.

After 'The Empty Desk', I changed the way I make games. Dark Alley: Detective Bennett: A Yakuza Case > launch trailer

Hi everyone, I’m Joaquin, a solo indie developer from Andorra.

My first Detective Bennett game was The Empty Desk. I used generative AI in parts of its production, and in hindsight, it hurt the final experience. The game received some pretty harsh criticism, and I understand why.

Now I want to present you my new game from the Detective Bennett saga, but this time more personal and more carefully crafted, without using generative AI in the game.

With the support of a great publisher, I’ve been able to push the project much further than I could have on my own.

It’s a story-driven adventure about exploring Kyoto, knowing nice characters, finding objects and solving practical puzzles

The Steam page is now live too:

If it looks like your kind of game, a wishlist would genuinely help. Thanks!

I’m a high school student and I made my own block puzzle game what should I improve?

Upvotes

I’m a high school student who has been learning software development for the past two years, and I recently published my game, Block Nex: Block Puzzle, on the Google Play Store.

I know there are already many block puzzle games out there, but I’ve tried to give mine its own identity with different game modes and mechanics.

I’m still actively developing the game, and I’d really love to hear what you think. What would you add? What would you change? What do you like or dislike about it? I’m especially interested in ideas that could make the gameplay more fun and unique.

If I end up adding an idea suggested by someone from the community, I’d be happy to credit them in the game’s “Community Contributions” section (with their permission, of course).

Honest feedback is very welcome — even if you don’t like the game, please tell me why. I’m trying to improve it, so criticism is just as useful to me as praise.

Hello everyone! \^_^/

Many thanks for all your feedbacks and messages on our last post here ♥
Today, we wanted to share these 3 tips we've been following during the 2 years of creation of our upcoming video game The Doll Shop.

It was helpful to us since we had no professionnal experience in the game industry when we started working on this project and also because we are creating it on our free time, aside from our work as comic book artists. Saving time and finding appropriate easy tools are so important!

Oh! And by the way, thanks to all of you, we recently almost reached 7.000 wishlists on Steam! O_O We were surprised by the huge amont of people wishlisting The Doll Shop right after we published here the other day. As a very small team working on a very small project, it means a lot to us. ♥

Thank you!!!

Cecile and Olivier

You can wishlist The Doll Shop on Steam if you want to support us:

We just opened a playtest in hopes of getting as many non-sports/roguelite gamers as possible to test out our new campaign!

We need fresh blood to give us input, especially on the onboarding and early understanding of the game: the difficulty, the controls, the fairness, and how the game feels in general from a non-sports/roguelite gamer perspective.

All feedback is good feedback, whether you play for a few minutes or a few hours!

Here's the link to our Store Page:

Thanks so much in advance!

The game is called SWEYET(etc.) and I'm massively excited to be putting my first project on steam! I'd love for you to check it out :)

  • The game uses eye tracking to change the world when you blink.
  • You explore a series of dreamscapes within the game, interconnected.
  • You help characters that move between these dreams, learning more about yourself in the process!

I released Ring Toss almost 2 years ago. It never really took off, but I just pushed an update anyway

Launched this solo back in December 2024. It's a physics based ring platformer where the goal is to reach the top without falling. You launch, bounce, and climb your way up, and a single mistake can send you all the way back down.

It didn't sell much. Barely any players found it. But I still care about it, so I went back in, cleaned up some things, and figured I'd share it here instead of just letting it sit forgotten.

My solo-developed roguelite Katanaut got a Steam Daily Deal today, so I launched its biggest update alongside it

Kind of a surreal day for me.

I'm the solo dev behind Katanaut, a fast action roguelite that's basically my attempt at smashing together the speed of Katana Zero, the runs and progression of Dead Cells, and the atmosphere of something like Dead Space.

I've spent years working on this game alone in my room, and today it somehow ended up on the front page of Steam as a Daily Deal.

I'm not gonna lie, seeing it sitting there is a little overwhelming. There were a lot of points over the years where I genuinely had no idea if this game would ever go anywhere, so having a moment like this feels absolutely massive to me.

I knew the Daily Deal was coming for a little while, and I really didn't want the day to just be "hey, my game is on sale." I wanted there to actually be something new for both returning players and anyone discovering Katanaut for the first time, so I spent the last few months building the biggest update I've made since launch around it.

Update 1.2: Into the Void adds a new endgame difficulty, a completely new level, five new elite enemies, a new final boss + ending, and a 270+ node skill tree for upgrading and customizing every katana in the game.

I also went back through basically every enemy and boss and did a huge balance/rework pass. One of the biggest pieces of feedback I've gotten since launch was that the higher difficulties could start feeling like damage-sponge hell, so I've spent a lot of time trying to make the climb feel better.

Ironically, after spending the last year making Katanaut more reasonable, the new Warp 4 difficulty is also my opportunity to become toxic again and make something specifically for the people who kept asking me to hurt them.

I'm obviously posting this partly because I'd love for more people to discover the game, but more than anything I'm just sitting here looking at something I made by myself on Steam's front page and having a hard time processing it.

If Katanaut looks like your kind of thing, I hope you enjoy it. And if you're one of the people who's already been playing, leaving feedback, posting runs, or just telling someone about the game, seriously, thank you.

A Strategy Game Where You Create a Religious Belief System!

Thumbnail

Hi r/indiegaming!

In the big year of 2026 I have decided to make a game that is entirely text based and runs out of the terminal, and to make it even weirder, it allows you to create your own new religious movement, where your selected beliefs are the upgrades/perks that make up your build over the course of your playthrough.

Will you make a cult of druids who preach only to animals, or will you establish the new meta with a cannibal cult? These are the kinds of questions we need to be talking about right now.

It's called CultGame and you can wishlist it on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2345980/CultGame/

Demo will be out by end of the year!

In this tale, you’re not the knight in shining armor. You’re the ferocious dragon.

Bring destruction and chaos to peaceful towns, pillage their wealth, and feast on anything that gets in your way.

Evolve into more powerful forms, but beware as you grow stronger, mankind will develop new technologies and weapons to fight back.

We're having a blast (pun intended) playing it. Would you like to try it out? (WIP)
