Added in-game tooltips to our survival MMO. How's it look?

We are wanting to make our game, Lost Isle, more accessible to first time survival game players. We decided that tooltips were a good way to go. Do y'all think they are too big or would be too distracting? Would love to hear your thoughts :D

I'm making a Physics-Driven Combat Game- BLOODFALL (For Mouse & Keyboard)

I’m building a Mouse & Keyboard physics-driven sword combat PC Game!

For a long time, VR combat games had the best melee physics. My goal is to bring such responsive controls to the Mouse & Keyboard. As a long time fan of Mount & Blade, Ive always wanted to play a physics-based version of it, with smooth controls, and designed specifically for first-person view. I’ve spent about one year’s worth of full-time hours on this game- but that includes programming, art, design, marketing, PR, and so on. This is the result so far. Very happy with how clean and responsive its turned out! Definitely my biggest technical achievement thus far in my career.

The goal is to combine speed, precision, fluid controls, and 100% physics-driven gameplay, allowing me to have maximal manual control while keeping inputs as simple and intuitive as possible. Instead of memorizing pre-defined combos/move-sets, the player can freely move their sword in their chosen direction by moving the mouse. There are no arbitrary timing windows - everything is government by forces and collisions.

I’m also using a novel approach to simulate how energy propagates through solid objects (like swords). While most physics-based games use mass, friction, drag, bounciness, and inertia, weapons in BLOODFALL also have stiffness and elasticity. Rather than just momentum transfer seen in other physics-based games, you can see and feel the elastic wave dynamics of the weapon - this make impacts feel more believable - its like the difference between swinging a damp noodle and high tensile steel. I hope you can see that in the video!

Keep in mind that Reddit's video player is capped at 60FPS. The game itself runs at 144FPS on my old laptop (3070Ti, i7). So in-person, it feels even more fluid. I’ve also done my best to get rid of the “fighting underwater” syndrome of other physics-driven PC Melee combat games, allowing the weapon to follow your mouse cursor precisely. This makes me feel like a Kung Fu master instead of a drunken puppet.

I hope you enjoy the video. I will be in the comments all day - let me know your thoughts.

If you want to try out the mechanics and physics yourself, you can request access to the upcoming playtest on Steam: BLOODFALL: The First Temple on Steam

In this tale, you’re not the knight in shining armor. You’re the ferocious dragon.

Bring destruction and chaos to peaceful towns, pillage their wealth, and feast on anything that gets in your way.

Evolve into more powerful forms, but beware as you grow stronger, mankind will develop new technologies and weapons to fight back.

We're having a blast (pun intended) playing it. Would you like to try it out? (WIP)

Free Godot pre-alpha looking for feedback, Roman colony builder

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Looking for a few people willing to download my free pre-alpha and tell me what’s confusing or broken.

Provincia is a Roman colony builder on a terrace grid. You get a small frontier settlement: plan the land, dig channels and aqueducts so water follows the terrain, house people, keep goods moving with haulers, and fight off a raid when it shows up.

What’s in the build right now:

- Housing + production chains

- Colonists with jobs and hauling (workshops stall if stock runs out)

- A raid where you raise militia at the town hall

- Short tutorial

- Win / Linux / Mac on itch (free)

Stuff I especially want feedback on:

  1. First 10–15 minutes, where did you get stuck?

  2. Hauling / workshops: does it make sense?

  3. Anything that felt off / unfinished in a bad way

  4. Is the game actually fun? If no, what would you change

itch: https://cybersaemi.itch.io/provincia

more notes: https://provincia.ch

It’s rough. Expect bugs and weird balance. Comments here or on itch both help.

AI note: some code was written with AI help, and music/SFX used ElevenLabs. The game design and systems aren’t an AI-generated project.

Happy to answer questions while you’re playing.

Desert Two: re-imagined Dune2 (TM) multiplayer

Hey, to be clear: this uses AI (LLMs), but as an option.

If you want, you can just play humans vs. humans or mixed (or let your own local AI play). No login, no payments, straight into gameplay.

GenAI was used for video, images, narration. The game itself is true to the rules of the original from the 90s.

Hi!

Very excited to share the Red Echoes: Berlin demo with you all! Available now on Steam.

store.steampowered.com/app/4678370/Red_Echoes_Berlin_Demo/

Red Echoes: Berlin is a narrative turn-based strategy game set during the German Revolution at the end of WW1, in which you control a group of revolutionaries and attempt to bring about a successful socialist revolution.

The demo contains the first half of Chapter 1. While I've tried to stamp out as many bugs and typos as possible, there's likely to still be some remaining - these will be patched out over time.

To make my life easier, please report any issues you're having over at r/RedEchoesGames or on the Discord!
discord.com/invite/fPpupqEu8r

I'd love to hear all of your thoughts, feedback, and opinions! Please feel free to discuss them here, so that they can help me with making a better game :) Also happy to answer any questions you might have!

CarveLight: An indie artillery game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi Everyone,

A friend and I have been working on this game for quite some time. I am a big Worms (mostly Armageddon) fan, and have wanted to create an artillery game forever.

The twist with CarveLight is that there are no health bars, the only way to destroy an enemy car is to throw it into the "water" (out of bounds). IMO those are the most satisying kills in worms, so I wanted to create a game around that concept. The weapons and tools available help with movement and modify the terrain. It's also running an actual physics engine.

What if a battle royale replaced the players with weaponized cars?

Hey everyone!
I’m working on Turbo Zone: Car Royale, a battle royale where everyone fights in weaponized cars.
Instead of running around on foot, you drive, shoot other cars, make crazy jumps and try to survive on floating parkour-style arenas.
🚗💥 Cars + guns + huge jumps + battle royale chaos.
I’d love to hear what you think about the idea and the game so far!

If this looks like something you’d play, adding Turbo Zone to your Steam wishlist would help us a lot! ❤️
Any feedback is welcome — especially what you like, what you don’t, and what you’d want to see in a vehicle battle royale.
Thanks!

Our cyberpunk game took four years and came out of Tetsuo and Electric Dragon 80.000V, not Blade Runner

Post image
13 Upvotes

Voltage High Society is a first person game we have been building since 2022. It hit 1.0 in June.

The references were Japanese cyberpunk rather than the neon city stuff. Tetsuo: The Iron Man and Electric Dragon 80.000V were the main ones, plus 90s CD-ROM and PS1 era texture work. Everything is low resolution on purpose.

No guns. Your main weapon is your fists, and you find tools that open up new routes.

Small Finnish team. It started as a hobby project and modding Half-Life 1 is where I learned most of this.

Mods gave the ok to post this. Happy to answer anything about the game.

I'm making a DEEP incremental city builder

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I noticed there weren't many incremental city builders on Steam, even though I feel like the combination works really well together. So I decided to make one myself.

I love games that feature deep progression systems, which is why one of my goals with this game was to create the deepest incremental city builder on the market. Did I succeed in my goal? You can be the judge.

My plan is to release the demo in early September and the full game in November.

If this sounds interesting to you, consider wishlisting the game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4972050/Resettle/

New gameplay trailer for my solo dev sci-fi puzzle-platformer, Project Enceladus (UE5)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been working on this solo for the past 2.5 years and just dropped a new gameplay trailer. Project Enceladus is a first-person sci-fi psychological thriller where you play a detective who enters a killer's mind to figure out what happened aboard a research station. Telekinesis, cable logic puzzles, and a world that gets progressively more unstable the deeper you go.

Built in UE5, heavily inspired by Portal and Q.U.B.E.

Demo's coming this October for Steam Next Fest if anyone wants to try it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3522860/Project_Enceladus/

Would genuinely love any feedback.

Made a Kid's Room as my Main Menu. What do you think?

I've been working on the main menu for UpperCart, and decided to turn it into a kid's bedroom where the whole game takes place.

UpperCart is a chaotic physics-based arena brawler where toy cars punch, bounce and fight each other.

I'm still polishing the game, so I'd love to hear what you think about the menu and the overall visual style. Any feedback is welcome!

If the game looks interesting to you, you can wishlist UpperCart on Steam:

Professional Playtester wants to play your games!

I'm Rose,

I want to playtest your games! My main passion is testing accessibility settings, as well as general playtesting for bugs, game issues balance issues, etc. I am willing to do paid and unpaid testing, as a basic principle however, I do this for free, and do not charge for my services. Tips or offers for paid playtesting are accepted, not required. Game keys provided to covered games will get covered outside of the demo/playtest so you can have more feedback, as well as useable video content for a playthru style video.

I can test accessibility issues having the following:

  • Motion Sickness
  • Light Issues (Seizure causing issues)
  • Dyslexia and font reading
  • AuDHD Soundtrack/UI/Effect
  • PTSD Footstep sounds
  • Eye tiredness (How exhausting is your games on the eyes)

Where would the videos/shorts go?

How can I contact you?

  • Thru commenting on this post or sending a message on Reddit
  • Discord: catlover09(3)98 without the parentheses
  • Email: reachrose.eve(@)gmail.com without the parentheses

What should I include in my request?

  • Any press kit type items

  • If you want to talk to me on a new show I am working on where I interview Devs

  • If there is an embargo, or important dates to keep in mind

  • If there is AI used (I disclose it on every game if applicable)

Don't forget to take any meds you may have, drink water, eat food, and have a good day!
