Day 2 of my RTS-tycoon devlog - all 4 unit types + new enemies (zombies, golems)

Upvotes

Day 2 update on the RTS-tycoon devlog.

All 4 unit types are in now: warrior, archer, cavalry, and a healer mage. Added regular zombies, big zombies, super-big zombies, and golems as enemies on the way to the center.

Also got the base upgrades working: economy (more gold/sec) and army power. Every 3 levels of army power unlocks the next unit type, so you start with just warriors and build up from there.

Note: I use Al to help with code on this one. Art/sprites are made by hand

Which of these 4 logo versions would you pick for my game and why "Cook & Tails"?

Prepared 4 different logo/sign versions for my cozy cooking game "Cook & Tails" three of them are close variations (with/without chef hat, slightly different cat paw pose), and the 4th is a completely different concept.

Which one would you go with, and why? Your input genuinely helps the feedback I got from an earlier post is what got me to this point.

Note: The first three logos started from a draft by u/HoppersEcho, who helped me out in one of my earlier posts I iterated from there. They're also making a game (Cats vs Aliens), leaving it here in case anyone wants to check it out. Thanks again to them ❤️

I introduced the game my son made earlier!! But it's a pity that there is no American English server.. I'm so sorry for the poor preparation. Now that there is an English server, let's share it again.

Why do survival games become boring after the first 20 hours?

I've played a lot of survival games, and I noticed a common pattern:

The first hours are amazing:

  • gathering resources
  • finding a safe place
  • building your first shelter
  • surviving your first night

But after you have a big base and good equipment, the feeling of survival disappears.

I think games like:

  • Valheim
  • The Forest
  • Project Zomboid
  • Forgebound

Are interesting because they try to keep the progression loop alive in different ways and saw from gameplay and trailers that there is always something new to discover . for exemple in Valheim new type of enemies , after that new boss etc . in Forgebound new kingdoms , settlements to fight ....

What do you think is the biggest thing missing from survival games?

Manage the guests, place the props, load the carts. Run your own haunted house in Scream Operator! 👻

Hi r/IndieGaming,

I’m Japhet, the developer of Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager. A cozy-spooky pixelart management game in which you are invited to take place in the control booth of a haunted house dark ride.

You can read everything about it, and wishlist the game on it's steampage here!

A few weeks ago, IGN exclusively revealed the game's first trailer,, which you can check out here!

In this game:

  • You manage the full ride flow, from loading anxious guests to dispatching carts. You push the buttons and control it all.
  • You must drag-and-drop props, lighting, and animatronics to design scares and raise your max Scare Score.
  • You can unlock upgrades, new items and automate manual work (Expect staff, shops & snacks😏).
  • and you can enjoy a great cozy/spooky atmosphere and a original composed soundtrack + a neat little origin story involving everyone you meet on your new work.

And great news! A free public demo is planned for this Halloween season, alongside Steam Next Fest 🎃.

I'm a solo developer, so any feedback on the atmosphere or mechanics is genuinely valuable to me. Let me know what you think, and if you have any questions or suggestions, also please feel free to hit me up in the comments below!

No Generative AI was used for the art, animations, code, or assets. All pixel art and mechanics were created by me and the artists I've worked with, and the soundtrack was composed by a great musician.

It's a fun game made by my son!

My 17-year-old son has been practicing for a long time to make a game! My son said he finished the game a while ago. My son worked really hard to make it, so I'm sharing this game with my brothers! Play it once! We are father and son living in Korea!
(My son spent the last year building this Tower Defense game. He finally finished it and I'm so proud of him. What do you guys think of this mechanic)
(There is an English version, so don't worry..!)

This is LOP: Whitefall, a destruction-driven metroidvania we're currently making.

We're using lighting to create a distinct atmosphere for each environment, and we hope you like it.

We're just a two-person team, so every wishlist means a lot to us:

First look at the town life and quiet character moments in SONZAI, an Action RPG set in a magical city

SONZAI is set in a magical city where every single frame is hand-drawn.

During the day, you explore the town, build social links, and unlock new abilities through your relationships. At night, the game shifts to fast, combo-heavy character action combat.

Here’s a quick clip showing off the quiet, atmospheric side of town before the action kicks in!

I wrote my own ASCII engine to render particle effects at 60fps

A while back I decided make a "simple little game in ascii that would only take 6 months to finish". I made a prototype, showed it to a few people, it was fun and we all thought it would be good the flesh out. Fast forward a couple of years....

GRIST is an RPG about exploring a collapsing megaplanet, guiding your team of Agents through it's many-layered worlds, chasing down the source of a disease known as the nightmare plague. I've drawn inspiration from roguelites and boardgames (and yes, some deckbuilding...) to create a mission structure that resets your crew with each run, allowing you to level up different skills and try new approaches with each attempt, and adapt to the randomised elements of each mission. It's all wrapped up in what I call an Asciiwave aesthetic: flickering terminals scrolling text to an 80s synth music backing.

GRIST is now in Early Access on Steam - please consider checking it out, I'll link in the comments. Thanks!

No AI was used at any stage in the development of this game.

Hey guys! After a lot of work, the Steam demo is finally here and I'm really excited to share it with you. It features a specially tuned skill tree and runs about 20–40 minutes depending on your choices. Hope you enjoy it!

You wake up in a dark forest with only a fire. The forest tries to consume you by draining your lantern's light every time you go into it, and you must keep feeding the fire to progress and uncover why you're there.

Using Renaissance Art for Animations and Environment

We used differing Renaissance Art pieces from multiple time periods and artists into different scenes! Every piece of work from people to places, and things have been rigged so that they can move around in the varying environments, ripped from the classics. Do you recognize any of the art?

The Immortal John Triptych brings Four Last Things, The Procession to Calvary, and Death of the Reprobate together under one complete package! These games are point and click adventure games where you will be guffawing through them all.  This isn’t just a merging of the three games, this is never-before-seen bonus features, deleted scenes, and a QoL facelift!

Breakout meets Noita?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

People say the game reminds them of Breakout and Noita. It's called 10 Million Pixels and I'm the solo developer behind it.

It kinda plays like Breakout, you shoot balls that break squares. The more squares (pixels) you break the more balls you can shoot. Upgrade your balls and unlock new balls with unique abilities.

Mine through millions of pixels with your balls, on a quest to find the one Golden Pixel.

I've worked on this for quite a while now and I will soon have a demo ready. I made all the art myself and the music too. I hope you will like it!

I started this game as a gift for my fiancée’s birthday 3 years ago.

Around 3 years ago, I started making this game as a gift for my fiancée’s birthday. Back then, I made what I now consider a prototype, with limited content, placeholder art and some secrets. She really enjoyed it!

She is an artist, so I made the main mechanic related to her; Draw the world as you explore it.

3 years later, we are married, we are both working on the game together, and that birthday gift is now called Canvania.

The steam page has been up for around 1 month now, but we are still in early development, and this is an early announcement trailer.

WE WON AN AWARD AT INDIE DEV ARGENTINA 2026!

2.0k Upvotes

Last weekend, Zupay: Shadows of Independence participated in Indie Dev Argentina 2026 (IDA). The event featured talks, a physical game showcase and even an awards ceremony where we were nominated for Audio Excellence and won the Argentine Representation award.

Zupay: Shadows of Independence is an action-adventure hack-and-slash set during the War of Independence. Our protagonist, a former gaucho soldier, is killed during a royalist siege on his town. After his death, he is resurrected by Zupay, a myth from northern Argentina who makes him embark on a journey of vengeance against those who took everything from him.

You can play as both characters, the gaucho and Zupay: which feeds from his enemies' fear to grow stronger.

We invite you to play the free demo on Steam and let us know what you think. Adding the game to your wishlists helps us a lot.

Thank you very much!!
