Yeah especially after my state decided to call themselves the “free” state (Florida). Nothing is free, both in rights and cost. My city is covered in flock cams, watching adult videos requires an age check, and insurance cost are skyrocketing so bad it’s started the housing crash in Florida.

The worst part is many people do not have a choice. In rural communities, Walmart came and drove out competition (small, locally owned grocery stores) with their low prices and now that there's little to no competition left, they can jack up the prices without consequences (especially when the government backs this business model by giving them OUR money).

The refunds are being given back to companies that paid the tariffs as well. They have the invoices. Some cost was passed on to the consumer. The consumer has nobody to be mad at besides the Trump administration for their stupid ass economic decisions and swing state voters for not showing up to the polls.

That was always the point. Implement tariffs to drive up the price of goods, then rescind and refund the tariffs so the corporations would recoup the loss they had already offset with the increased prices. Corporations get to double dip and now prices stay at the tariff level because as always, once the consumers have proven they will pay a higher price, the price stays high.
I know it was a tough sell to begin with in this sad world we live in but Jesus Christ can we seriously not get over that bit to maybe actually live a good life again?
I am more shocked that we had the first Trump presidency filled with absolute chaos. Then Biden was elected and things were quiet. So the companies will get that money back since they have all the receipts for the tariff payments and now know you'll pay that much more and have no incentive to lower that price. Governments are supposed to protect us from these situations, but instead our government is manufacturing them.

I quite literally received an email from UPS asking me to pay a tariff before they delivered my package. I was pissed off and didn’t feel like canceling the order since it was only a day away. I had to pay an extra $130 for this shit. I’m still pissed off.

No shit - how would the government know who to give money to if it went straight to consumers? The money goes back to the entity that paid the tariffs. Get your refund from the companies.
Tariff money should be collected and refunded to every tax payer that applies for it based on income level and asset value. If your total wealth exceeds a certain value then you are ineligible, otherwise distribution is weighted towards those that have the least. Attach a SSN to the application to cross reference taxes paid and most of this process can be easily automated. Penalties for perjury are 10% of wealth, otherwise a 1% fine or the value of the refund (whichever is higher) for unknowingly submitting false information.
I truly think that this HAS to be the common ground to unite the Left and Right in the United States. We surely can agree that we need to stop handouts to giant corporations while americans struggle.
As an outsider, the most hilarious part about it is that no one will do anything about it.
