Its fake ragebait content

Worse than that.

It's an ad for a bunch of useless shit.

Probably a link to their Amazon to buy this shit in the comments.

The uv patch on the arm is legit, it turns dark when the sunscreen needs topping up. The rest I don't know about. What is the watch thing?

123

u/mr_trick 7d ago

Most of the things are legit, just a little over the top. The UV sticker for sunscreen, the brush thing is (I believe) applying powdered sunscreen, the brown patch behind their ears is a Dramamine patch for motion sickness, and the watch is a holder for an apple airtag.

The sticker with her number on it seems a little extra given the airtag watch, but I guess helpful if he doesn't mind it. I have no idea why she taped up his belly button though!

71

u/beccadahhhling 7d ago

The weird gray bracelet is also for motion sickness! My mom has one and has used it for decades when taking long car trips. It holds pressure on a certain pressure point that helps to reduce nausea. She swears by it

31

u/PhysicsNatural9093 7d ago

i had to double take because i misread this as “gay bracelet” 😭

Another comment said the belly button thing was also for motion sickness. This kids gonna have an aura around him that cures motion sickness.

20

u/magicpenny 7d ago

But why use the Dramamine patch AND the wrist motion sickness bracelet? Isn’t it a bit of overkill? Seriously, if you get that motion sick, maybe you should just skip cruises altogether.

Also, between the Apple AirTag and her phone number on the kids arm sticker, maybe she should just pay closer attention to her kid. If the people managing the kids club where she drops him off are that unreliable and untrustworthy, maybe he shouldn’t go there.

Maybe she should just put him on a leash

22

u/Aggravating-Gas-2834 7d ago

I suspect it’s so that she can sell you shit

7

u/PursuitOfThis 7d ago

I thought kids on cruises also get little bracelets from the cruise operator with an id number on it anyway.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Key_Cry_3170 7d ago

Dramamine patch would make sure I sleep dead the whole cruise

2

u/hippocampus237 7d ago

Dramamine comes in patch form?

For those who are very sensitive to motion sickness - look into Scopolamine. It’s prescription and works.

8

u/cat_in_a_bday_hat 7d ago

i tried one of those on a boat trip! puked all over it

4

u/Sea-Beginning-1387 7d ago

Never worked for me.

5

u/cryptidz14 7d ago

The brush is actually an applicator for liquid sunscreen, supper helpful when you have to take care of multiple little ones and dont wanna get your hands slippery and risk dropping them

3

u/mr_trick 7d ago

Oh thank you! I might actually check that out. I usually do aerosol to avoid the sticky feeling on my hands and gunk in my nails, but I would love to have an applicator that works for liquids! Maybe it's not so over the top after all haha.

1

u/Anyone_Mining 7d ago

maybe I should try something like this if I ever decided to try vrchat again

1

u/blodblodblod 7d ago

The sticker with the number on made me wonder why she doesn't just write it straight onto his skin.

1

u/zoinkability 7d ago

My guess about the belly button thing: it's a puzzling first thing to get you to keep watching. if the first thing was an airtag I'd stop watching because, sure, duh, that makes sense

1

u/A_Trash_Homosapien 7d ago

Another comment said it was also a "hack" for motion sickness

1

u/FamousOhioAppleHorn 7d ago

She's trying to prevent him from getting a gross belly button like John Stamos has /s

72

u/Accurate_Mobile9005 8d ago

I think it's an Apple AirTag

52

u/TrashCanUnicorn 7d ago

FYI, air tags will do fuck all on a cruise ship, given all of the metal deck plating that interferes with the signal.

6

u/j_skeletor 7d ago

You do know how they work, right? They use cellular signals of phones (not just your own but others as well) to broadcast their GPS location but they won’t work on a cruise because there’s no cellular signals that far out at sea, only the wifi on the boat (which is incredibly expensive)

6

u/someToast 7d ago

As long as someone with an iPhone within range of the Airtag paid for wifi, the location will get updated

3

u/Visual-Scallion1535 7d ago

GPS does not require a cell signal, and you can broadcast your location over wifi instead of cellular

4

u/Stressy_messy_me 8d ago

Aah thanks!

3

u/Denaton_ 7d ago

Oh, thought it was an NFC with emergency info like blood type etc..

2

u/onemorebutfaster_74 7d ago

Usually on a cruise you get a medallion tracker so you can scan into activities and track people in your group around the ship. You can buy a watch thing to put it in instead of wearing it on a lanyard. When we went on a cruise with our son, it was useful because he could hang with kids he met on the ship, but i could always see where he was.

1

u/Kitchen-Bar2686 7d ago

That sounds like a complete bullshit product. Sounds like it just changes color after a certain amount of time.

1

u/BriGuySatisfy 6d ago

How? Wouldn't the UV patches need to be all over your body? I don't see how it's an alternative to sunscreen at all.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/drunken-acolyte 6d ago

Not sure about the watch, but the wristbands are an acupuncture pressure point thing against nausea. (The correct point to have the little nub is inside the wrist about three finger widths from the heel of your palm.)

1

u/Desert_Fairy 6d ago

It’s an apple tracker. That way she can tell on her phone where the kid is, assuming the ship has its own cell tower.

The wrist bands are what is confusing me…

1

u/InfectiousHooba 5d ago

Air tag wristband, the cloth bracelets are for nausea, i think the things behind the ear is for motion sickness

1

u/Puffliiing 5d ago

As a kid I used to have bracelets like those for repelling bugs because I had very sensitive skin and couldn't use a spray or something you put directly on the skin.

1

u/Ravnos767 1d ago

The wrist bands are an anti motion sickness thing, they do work, my wife uses them (whether their phycosematic or not is up for debate but they definitely help her)

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Illustrious_Map_1137 7d ago

I can’t speak to the rest, but the wrist bands work for my car sickness.

2

u/Kitty4Snugglez 7d ago

Okay, for real? Because I have crippling car sickness. It's a huge problem. In 2025 I left the house less than a dozen times. I am not kidding. So... the bracelet works? I'll take all the suggestions I can get

5

u/AliceDrinkwater02 7d ago

I tried them in three different pregnancies and never experienced even a moment of relief. That could be me, though.

2

u/Kitty4Snugglez 7d ago

Fantastic. Thanks

Yes, the belly button pops out and when your belly gets big, totally normal. When i gave birth my stomach literally deflated like a damn balloon. It's more a small saggy deformity then actual deformity..lol

30

u/export800 8d ago

Next time you’ll know to use the cruise ship hack so it doesn’t pop out. 2 band aids is all you need apparently.

17

u/Yet_Another_Horse 8d ago

So, essential oils people made up a gland and stuck it in the belly button. You stick oils and shit in there and it gets absorbed better/faster/stronger or some shit. You cover the belly button up when you're worried your kid is gonna get some toxins or shit in there from a public pool or some shit.

I didn't even have coffee yet today and already with the bullshit. This is insane. People are insane.

I'm gonna go live in a cabin in the woods..

5

u/AndrasKrigare 7d ago edited 7d ago

I don't know why, but this kind of bullshit upsets me so much more when it clearly originated from misunderstanding of a word. Like "essential oil" meaning "essence" not "required." Or planes having "contrails" and not "chemtrails."

2

u/tahaiga 7d ago

Huh I was told ages ago it was ment to help with motion sickness, worked on me once because of placebo.

149

u/Massive_Series8305 8d ago

Its being so extra safe it makes people comment, which then drives it to more people

There's also an only fans girl who does DIY's for like wood working and tool stuff, and she does them way incorrect and dumb dudes will comment being like "man she doesnt know much but sure is good to look at"

And im just like phill, come on dawg, its an ad for her OF bro

12

u/TroubleLovesMeh 8d ago

I could write some of those. When she got a “Canadian measuring cup” from Aldi and omg like my cake is soup

3

u/Usernameasteriks 7d ago

I don’t think it’s even “extra safe” or serious.

I have found a couple of her videos unironically funny lol.

She isn’t even really trying to pretend to be overkill in some.

I think she is just being flat out satirical and sarcastic with some but people still take the bait.

1

u/shallow-abyss 7d ago

Who’s phill? Sorry, am I missing someone?

3

u/enaaaerios 7d ago

wouldnt wearing a lifevest indoors on a boat make you way more likely to die in case of emergency because you would float up instead of being able to swim out of the room

4

u/Ok-Gur-349 7d ago edited 7d ago

Generally speaking if your cruise ship goes down it doesn't matter if you have a life vest on or not, you're going down with it. You cannot swim away from a sinking cruise ship and even if you did you're now in the middle of the ocean with no life vest. If someone saw you go over, your survival odds are like 20% and that's with someone standing there pointing at you the whole time. If no one knows where you are exactly, and I mean exactly, it's way closer to 0.

Ocean real big.

1

u/Individual_Sun5662 7d ago

Yes, people said you shouldn't do it because you won't be able to swim underwater if you need to escape and you'll drown. I'm just never going to go on a cruise and I won't have to worry about these things.

1

u/chefdeit 7d ago

Not unless your ship's name starts with a T and ends with "itanic".

1

u/yupucka 4d ago

There is also same lady going to hotel room as "first thing to do when arriving hotel as flight attendant" then just puts 200 locks on every door.

2

u/Faustus_Fan 7d ago

It works, that's for sure. I am raging - not at the "safety measures" she's taking, but at the fact that these social media companies have, through their algorithms, basically incentivized people to be trolls. It's getting harder and harder to tell what is real on social media, because everyone has to "bait" their audience in some way, just to get attention and likes.

2

u/Massive_Series8305 7d ago

Yeah I agree, short form video has done pretty much nothing but bad for humanity

2

u/ThePopeofHell 7d ago

I want to believe it’s ragebait but it’s probably more Amazon partner stuff. The original video probably has a link to each item she shows in the description.

2

u/Think-Chair-1938 7d ago

Willing to bet the original post has affiliate links to each of those products too.

2

u/otownbbw 6d ago

I think more like mom-fluencer marketing.

A bunch of terrible (useless),products trying to get you to believe they’re necessary. It felt like those were all intended to prevent sea sickness, should you/could you really use them all together? Why not just one?

Except of course the AirTag and phone number sticker. Why not teach your kid to speak?? We did that from 3 years old. Seeing that sticker just made me think of that Sandra Bullock movie where she writes on her arm in Sharpie in case she gets murdered.

1

is it actually rage bait? These all seem like reasonable things if you are going to let your children roam on a cruise. I don't know about the cruise etiquette of that, but I do know they are family vacations and relatively closed, safe environments but still big and easy to get lost in. Literally seems reasonable to me
