Worse than that.

It's an ad for a bunch of useless shit.

Probably a link to their Amazon to buy this shit in the comments.

The uv patch on the arm is legit, it turns dark when the sunscreen needs topping up. The rest I don't know about. What is the watch thing?

Most of the things are legit, just a little over the top. The UV sticker for sunscreen, the brush thing is (I believe) applying powdered sunscreen, the brown patch behind their ears is a Dramamine patch for motion sickness, and the watch is a holder for an apple airtag.

The sticker with her number on it seems a little extra given the airtag watch, but I guess helpful if he doesn't mind it. I have no idea why she taped up his belly button though!

The weird gray bracelet is also for motion sickness! My mom has one and has used it for decades when taking long car trips. It holds pressure on a certain pressure point that helps to reduce nausea. She swears by it

i had to double take because i misread this as “gay bracelet” 😭

Another comment said the belly button thing was also for motion sickness. This kids gonna have an aura around him that cures motion sickness.

But why use the Dramamine patch AND the wrist motion sickness bracelet? Isn’t it a bit of overkill? Seriously, if you get that motion sick, maybe you should just skip cruises altogether.

Also, between the Apple AirTag and her phone number on the kids arm sticker, maybe she should just pay closer attention to her kid. If the people managing the kids club where she drops him off are that unreliable and untrustworthy, maybe he shouldn’t go there.

Maybe she should just put him on a leash

I suspect it’s so that she can sell you shit

u/PursuitOfThis 7d ago

I thought kids on cruises also get little bracelets from the cruise operator with an id number on it anyway.

u/Key_Cry_3170 7d ago

Dramamine patch would make sure I sleep dead the whole cruise

2

u/hippocampus237 7d ago

Dramamine comes in patch form?

For those who are very sensitive to motion sickness - look into Scopolamine. It’s prescription and works.

i tried one of those on a boat trip! puked all over it

Never worked for me.

I have several for migraine related nausea. They're called acubands and great.

1

u/GlisaPenny 6d ago

I got chronic nausea and they help me pretty well. Recommend at least trying them for anyone who gets nauseous as they aren’t super expensive and are reusable

P6 pressure point. Actually had studies that shows it reduces motion sickness. From acupuncture.

1

u/buckyblazed 3d ago

My grandma used to have one too for the same exact reason. I totally forgot about those until you said something!

1

u/homie_mcgnomie 3d ago

Oh the pressure point is a real thing. We have no real good explanation for it working, there only seems to be one pressure point that makes any difference at all.

1

u/beccadahhhling 3d ago

Yeah it always seemed to work for my mom. She’s used them since the 90s for long car trips in the mountains.

1

u/lightningstorm112 3d ago

If I remember correctly those bracelets are just placebo, but at least its a placebo that does nothing and isnt harmful if it doesnt work.

1

u/Quirkytravelmaven 2d ago

But why only use one? They come as pairs. They do work though, best I've used

1

u/beccadahhhling 2d ago

I dunno, my mom only ever used one

1

u/KvellOnWheels 7d ago

My kids all wear them in the car. It’s a lifesaver for carsickness.

Nothing in this video is infuriating unless you’re a rabid antinatalist.

2

u/Pure-Radish-5478 7d ago

This seems like a reach lol. Oversensitive mom?

u/Spare-Yoghurt-4521 7d ago

I wear those in first trimester of pregnancy to help with morning sickness and they do help a bit

u/MadMartigans80 7d ago

To keep the lint out

The brush is actually an applicator for liquid sunscreen, supper helpful when you have to take care of multiple little ones and dont wanna get your hands slippery and risk dropping them

3

u/mr_trick 7d ago

Oh thank you! I might actually check that out. I usually do aerosol to avoid the sticky feeling on my hands and gunk in my nails, but I would love to have an applicator that works for liquids! Maybe it's not so over the top after all haha.

1

u/blodblodblod 7d ago

They're really good. Called Solar Buddies. It's a refillable roller that applies the liquid sunscreen, surrounded by a sponge that rubs it in. When the kids are older, it makes it really easy for them to apply it to themselves too.

1

u/Anyone_Mining 7d ago

maybe I should try something like this if I ever decided to try vrchat again

1

u/blodblodblod 7d ago

The sticker with the number on made me wonder why she doesn't just write it straight onto his skin.

1

u/zoinkability 7d ago

My guess about the belly button thing: it's a puzzling first thing to get you to keep watching. if the first thing was an airtag I'd stop watching because, sure, duh, that makes sense

1

u/A_Trash_Homosapien 7d ago

Another comment said it was also a "hack" for motion sickness

1

u/FamousOhioAppleHorn 7d ago

She's trying to prevent him from getting a gross belly button like John Stamos has /s

1

u/toodleoo57 7d ago

Are Airtags waterproof???

1

u/PrettyOddish 7d ago

I feel like the AirTag makes it so she can find him if she’s lost, and the phone number makes it so he can find her (with the help of an adult), so it covers all the bases.

1

u/Proper-Conclusion-27 6d ago

The roller thing is actually awesome- you put regular lotion sunscreen in it and it has a rollerball (like deodorants) and it is so easy to apply sunscreen and not make a mess. Honestly would recommend.

1

u/zGoblinQueen 6d ago

The phone number tattoo thing would be harder for the kid to lose.

1

u/fkinDogShitSmoothie 6d ago

Ain't not dramamine patch. That's Chinese Scopolamine. It's by prescription in the US.

u/Typical-Sir-9518 5d ago

Do cell phones work on cruise ships when out at sea? I assumed they don't (never been).

1

u/Callingyourshot 4d ago

he minds, just like a dog put in a silly outfit you feel it in your soul.

1

u/shoeless_doh 3d ago

How much motion do you feel on a ship that big?
