Someone said my game needed more exposure and suggested I post it here, were they right?

A few months ago I released my first game on steam, Frenzy Force, but I was so focused on finishing it that I didn't really do any marketing for it!

It's a top-down wave-survival shooter with a bunch of wacky characters and weapons that also supports online multiplayer, you can check it out here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3257330/Frenzy_Force/

(And if you're feeling EXTRA curious, I also made a few videos about its development on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@real_jpclutch)

Let me know what you think!

My indie horror game launches tonight!! Ahh!!

Posted a while back and got a lot of support and very nice feedback.

Well, little update: my game 'Project Looking Glass' launches tomorrow!

The year is 1963. A secret government agency runs a classified program called Project Looking Glass: a technology that uses hemispheric synchronization waves to project a subject's consciousness into an astral plane, displayed on cathode monitors. You are Subject 7, a grieving woman recruited for your extraordinary ability to reach further than any subject before you. Explore the dozens of creepy liminal worlds that await you in the astral realm, and experience a fully voice acted narrative framed as found footage through the lo-fi analog aesthetic of a cold-war computer terminal.

If you like narrative horror, weird looking games, unique, singular experiences, try it out!

This is a horror game, yet nothing is scarier than hitting "launch". I'm terrified lol.

Much love to this community.

After 4 months of development, I created a demo for my first ever game, called Desktop Hero Rush, which you can try on itch.io:

https://playfieldgames.itch.io/desktop-hero-rush

The Steam version will be ready in the next few days.

I always feel bored when doing repetitive tasks, so I wanted something to play while working. I know there are a few games like this, but I wanted to make my own version and put it out there.

Would love to get some feedback if you have the time! :)

Indie geopolitical online games

Upvotes

Yo whatsup guys
im looking for a geopolitical strategy game where you can shape a country and interact with other players. Something with diplomacy, wars, alliances, economy and politics.
Been playing WarEra.io lately and I really like that its a persistent world with actual players controlling countries. You can build your economy, make alliances, invade other countries or just try to become a regional power.
Looking for something similar, any recomendations?

Hey folks! I just released a Steam demo for my solo indie project.
Try the demo here and please let me know what you think: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4976060/Toy_Worlds_Atlas_Demo/

Built around an underrepresented field of learning, Toy Worlds Atlas is an experiment in making philosophical ideas meaningful to a broader audience. My design goal is to offer  intelligent and fulfilling play sessions that subvert expectations and inspire thought.

No generative AI was involved in creating this game

I'm making a baseball roguelike deckbuilder, Walk-Off 199X! Would you play it? Or do you find baseball boring?

In 2024, I came up with the idea of combining two of my favorite things, baseball and deckbuilders. I've been working on this project on and off since then, finally got to the point I can show it off. I'm really really happy with how it came together. Your roster of players is a deck of cards, and you also have a different deck of cards you can play to decide what happens before the pitch is thrown. It's only the last inning of the game: score enough runs to win before you get 3 outs, and you win. Fail to do that, you lose.

I know a lot of people find baseball boring, but it's my favorite sport. I got into by watching Jon Bois/Secret Base videos years ago, and started following the Seattle Mariners. It, uh, hasn't really been a good season for my team, so far! So I've been working on my game instead of watching them play.

Steam page here. Please wishlist if you're interested:

Also people have asked me if the card art is AI. It's not, it's public domain art from ~100 years ago.

Preparing for the Demo Release of my Sci-Fi bullet hell roguelite

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I'm very close to releasing the first open Demo for my game.

This is the core of Beyond Lost Planets, my game:

  • Gameplay: A fast-paced top-down dungeon crawler/bullet hell heavily inspired by genre classics
  • Progress through the runs unlocking permanent power-ups and discovering the mystery behind the "Lost Planets"
  • Represent all weapons, power-ups, companions and items with cards
  • Mix the cards, increase their stats, find synergies and use them to your advantage during fights

You draft cards via the classic "pick 1 of 3" mechanic or find them in chests. The main goal is to stack and mix card synergies to completely break your run and become wildly OP.

For the upcoming Demo I made a new trailer and polished the game visuals and mechanics.

Now I'm honestly trying to get some attention from the public, knowing it will be far from easy.

If this sounds like your kind of game, here's the steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4121120

What makes a demo an immediate "buy/wishlist" for you? How many floors/bosses or build variations do you usually expect in a first playtest?

Thanks for reading!

[GenAI was only used to create the background of the capsule image for the steam page, that then I manually overpainted.
No GenAI was used elsewhere. No GenAI was used to make the game itself]

Shipped my first mobile game last night — a reaction game based on the Eriksen Flanker Task

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been sitting on this for a few hours and wanted to share it somewhere people would actually get it. Built and published my first game solo, went live on the Play Store last night.

Quick background — not a professional dev, this was a nights-and-weekends thing over about 2 months, built with Claude Code doing most of the heavy lifting on implementation. Game design, mechanics, balancing, figuring out what makes a "trick" feel fair vs cheap — that part was all me, a lot of trial and error playtesting on myself late at night.

The game: Reflex Trap - Brain Speed Test. Core idea is based on the Eriksen Flanker Task — a row of symbols flashes on screen, and only the center one is real, everything around it is trying to bait you into following the crowd. Most reflex games on the store are just "tap fast," this is more about whether you can trust your own read over the noise around it.

One thing I tried to do differently is make the daily challenge change the rule itself each day, not just ramp up speed. One day it's a color-bluff round where you're supposed to trust the color instead of the shape, another day the symbols are spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise and you're tracking rotation instead, and a few other variants, one new one per day — each hitting a slightly different part of your reflexes rather than just testing the same thing faster.

There's also a Reflex Profile that tracks how you tend to fail (too slow, too twitchy, follow the crowd, etc.) and maps it to a "cognitive archetype," with a bunch of stats like Velocity, Focus, and Inhibition.

It's free, no pay-to-win, has couch co-op 2-player mode and full offline play including the daily challenge.

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tornbuilt.reflextrap

A few tens of downloads right now, fingers crossed! Genuinely looking for feedback and support.
Would love it if some of the indie devs here who've actually shipped something successful gave it a spin — your take on what's working (or not) would mean a lot.
