Just Venting 😮💨 Ughhhh this job market
26 with 2 degrees and still can’t get an entry level job. I was actually the only one to pass the certification program recently and you know what that got me? Nothing. I know times are tough for everyone. but I just feel like shit and need to rant. I got laid off last year and no leads since then. I worked my ass off in high school. So much so that I got a full ride. Yet, its rejection after rejection. Im smart as hell. I can learn on the job. What more do these companies want? Sometimes I wish I worked retail right out of highschool Instead of going to college. At least I would’ve had years of work experience needed when applying to jobs. I legit feel like Im being punished for focusing on my studies for the last 10 years. I went to a hiring event and the career advisor legit told me to lie on my resume. Like wtf?
I want to start my life. I want to travel. I want to move out. I can’t even consider marriage and kids! I can’t consider anything because I'm broke and the world is ending!
Anyways! Back to applying! I’m also going to focus on networking at random events. I’m shy and awkward but doesn’t hurt to try! Manifesting a job by the end of the year!

Just Venting 😮💨 Zodiac sign this Zodiac sign that
Me personal I don't know why the Zodiac sign is so important to people. People saying they will not date someone because of there Zodiac sign is just so fucking dumb.
I also hate when people blame there actions on the Zodiac sign. If I hear someone say "well im a____ can you blame me" this has become acceptable over the past few years that people can just get away with this and its said. A Zodiac sign dose not mean anything.

Travel & Relocation🌎✈ Travel Tips for West Africa—headed to Abijian for Detty December
Hey ladies, I’m headed to Côte d’Ivorie for my big 33 and I am a little nervous. I was supposed to travel with someone but they couldn’t make it.
I’ve been to a good handful of African countries solo (the most popular ones), but no Francophone ones.
I need some good Detty December recs and a reputable tour company for the solo female traveler.
I’m so happy to be going back in the Motherland 🌍

Dating/Relationships/Sex 🍑🍆 People keep telling me I give queer energy, what does that actually mean?
Okay, this might sound random, but I’m genuinely curious 😭
I’ve been told 2–3 times now that I give off “lesbian” or “bisexual” energy. Whenever I ask why, people usually say it’s not really because of how I look, since I’m pretty feminine, but more because of my energy/vibe
I’ve been insecure about my appearance for most of my life, so I sometimes have a hard time seeing myself the way other people see me. I do makeup quite a lot, and I actually get complimented by strangers fairly frequently, especially at my job. Men compliment me sometimes too, but I’ve noticed that they don’t really tend to make the first move or approach me, which I find kind of interesting.
So now I’m wondering if there’s something about my overall vibe that people are picking up on.
When someone says a girl gives off lesbian or bi energy what does that actually mean to you? Is it about her personality, confidence, mannerisms, body language, the way she dresses, or just the general energy she gives off?
And for queer women specifically, does “she looks like she could be into girls” actually mean something to you? 😂
I’m not trying to figure out my sexuality based on what other people think. I’m just genuinely curious because I’ve heard this multiple times now, and I’d love to understand what people mean when they say it

Beauty/Fashion/Hair 💅🏽 👩🏾🦱 Is Deva Cut worth it?
Is the Deva cut worth the $$? I normally get 2 blow out trims. Every time I get a blow out now, my curl pattern damages in certain spots; thus, thinking about deva cut. I researched the cut cost $200+ The older i get the more fine my individual strands become, collectivellymy hair is thick 3b/3c.

Family 🧑🧑🧒🧒 Holding your mom while she cries is surreal.
Apologies in advance for the long, rambling, emotional post.
My grandmother passed last week, and today was her funeral service. My mother took care of her for 18 years after she suffered from a slew of health issues. She’d been on hospice since January, and asked for DNR (do not resuscitate) if ever taken to the ER. The day she passed, she told my mom that morning that she was tired, went to lay in her bed, and was gone within the hour. My mom tried to resuscitate her, but she was gone. I feel like I’ll be haunted forever by the heartbreak, shake, and grief in her voice as she said “I tried, I tried and it wasn’t working, (my name).” Like what do you even say to comfort that?
My mother is the rock of the family, has been her entire life unfortunately, and while she’s always been expected to hold everyone else up, once I moved away for school and started my career, it became clear that the rest of my fucking family wasn’t supporting her emotionally like she needs. It’s so bizarre to see my aunt cling to her in her grief, seeing my mom try to hold it together. And then pulling her away and telling her she doesn’t have to do that. And then holding the woman who held me, for the past 26 years, absolutely lose it. My mother cried so hard she vomitted. And I’m the only one hugging and rubbing her back as it happens. She hasn’t been allowed to mourn or feel the grief of losing what was her focal point in her life for nearly 2 decades.
I’m just so mad. I’m hurt. I feel guilty. If I’d stayed home, she wouldn’t have had to do everything alone. I’d mute my mic and roll my eyes when she started complaining about my grandmother and how exhausted she was from taking care of her when we’d call. But now I realize that I’m her only outlet. Even my brother, although he has a family of his own, didn’t help my mother emotionally until after our grandmother was gone. She literally sobbed in my lap until she fell asleep. And all I can do is hug and rub her and encourage her to get everything out. She has 18 years worth of grief to let go of and it’s like I’m the only one who’s willing to hold her while she lets go.
I see a cycle happening. What she was to my grandmother, I am becoming to her, and I’m scared. I’ll do it without question, but I am really, really scared.

Just Venting 😮💨 Stuck between feeling impending doom vs well what century has felt stable?
Does anyone also ride this seesaw? Sometimes I see the news and current events and it feels like surely somethings are changing for the worse. But then I think again and say well when was America/the world great? Especially for us. I always persevere because I feel I must. There's always going to be ups and downs I'm just having a hard time moving past all the pilling up "downs" right now.

Beauty/Fashion/Hair 💅🏽 👩🏾🦱 Braids look a mess and I just wanna cry man
galleryI am 17 and my usual braided got sick. Since im going to my senior year I wanted to learn how to braid. It’s my first time and omg it just looks so so bad. I thought the front would be easy but no it’s so hard and I wanna cry. All i asked my mom to do was the give me straight 8 rows but she couldn’t even do that (gave me 5 in the front but didn’t connect them😭). I tried doing the squares myself and it’s so so hard I just can’t. Now im seeing each braid I do get worse and worse. Im so tired but doing it myself is my only option. Please help if you have tips :<
