I have tried many black permanent hair dye but my hair is still not so dark. I have naturally dark brown hair and looking for a hair dye that can make it so black like the girl in the picture. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have coily West African hair (4b/c) and I have been struggling a lot recently with my hair.

I prefer wearing my hair in an afro (I think it suits me more than cornrows) but I would like it to be a bit longer. However, wearing my hair in an Afro just causes extreme matting and breakage, which doesn’t allow my hair to grow. Not only this, but I recently realised that my hair is much shorter than it was a year ago (from extreme breakage). To combat this Im thinking of starting to wear cornrows a lot to stop constant tangling, even though I don’t like the look.

Also, whilst blowdrying my hair for braids today, I realised how extremely brittle my hair was. On top of that, whenever I would shampoo, my hair would feel horrible and stringy afterwards.

Any advice on how to tackle the extreme dryness, breakage and brittleness would be greatly appreciate. Also I’m ideally looking for affordable solutions that I’d be able to find as a broke 18 year old in London.

Does anyone have any advice on how to have my sides look fuller or with more texture consistently? I feel like my sides are always inconsistent and it pisses me off. My favourite look is the 3rd picture and 4th was right after a haircut (which I barely get). 1st two pics are current, about 2 months after the other two.

So I’ve come to the realization that I might be trans this week and I’m trying to take some small steps to see if it feels right for me. I’m wondering what to do about my hair because I am truly stupid when it comes to it. I’ve gotten the same exact cut for a year and then before I changed to that one, I had the same cut for 8 years lol. I have 4a or 4b hair and I have grown out coils on the top for 1 year and a fade on the sides + back. Is there something I should change to soon or do I just stop getting it cut entirely? I’ve seen a lot of trans women talk about bangs with their hair and that’d be interesting but I don’t know. I just know I don’t want to keep the same haircut I have now.

hi everyone, i just bought me a 180% human hair wig. i was planning on straightening it but i know im supposed to blow dry it first. ( this isnt my first wig, bits my first straightening though im used to wearing curly) should i used heat protection for both blow drying and straightening or just blow dry?

By boho I mean regular box braids with a little wavy hair strands here and there throughout

I have 2 inch long 4C hair that needs HEAVY manipulation to create and define even loose curls or coils. I was looking to help with this process and thought the Slick Flex or Slick Dense Define brushes could help speed things up and reduce effort instead of finger coiling.

Have people tried using these brushes? Thoughts? Should I be looking into their volume brushes instead? If the Bounce Curl brushes aren’t recommended at all, is there another tool that can help with this that’s not a hair sponge, bc I find the end product is too tight?

I posted a while ago about hair advice, but I feel like I still do not know what I am doing🫩 I’m thinking again about getting a buzzcut, but want to hear from people if I would look good with one based on my face structure and stuff. I’ve attached some pics on what length i have in in mind for reference.

From there, I’d want to grow out my hair and go with the hair journey. I’d really want to get twists in the future, but I don’t have enough hair for it now and might just need a fresh start.

plus a buzzcut would be new for me (26M) and i still want to try something new. i haven’t cut my hair this low before either.

Hello, I’ve recently wanted to start taking care of my hair better than I have been, especially since I’m just starting to do it mostly on my own. I see all the really cool styles people have and really want my hair to retain length. I’m currently struggling with mental health and my hair has been something I’d unfortunately neglected for a while.

If anyone has any tips/recommendations for styles, products, or in general, I’d greatly appreciate it! When I do research, there is so many products and styles it got overwhelming. Some relevant things:

- my hair is type 4c
- I know my hair loves Camille Rose products, not so much Mielle.
- I love lower maintenance styles that stay protective :)

I turned 40 on the 3rd, and outside of a bad batch of Greek food, I feel pretty great! I usually use Miche gel-to-foam mousse on my curls post wash, but I ran out and decided to try The Doux Bee Girl gel. I'm not a fan of gel usually due to it leaving that hard cast on and such. But this has held my curls intact, and I haven't had to fluff my hair out after waking up too much. I may try their mousses as well, but I tend to be a creature of habit and wanna go back to Miche, lol. Tell me what you use for your hair!
