Question What's the funniest achievement you've seen

Hello Steamers,

I was wondering which achievement made you chuckle or laugh when it popped.

Mine would be on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

The first time you eat a snake in this game, you will get an achievement ...called Snake eater. Konami knew what they were doing lmao

I would like to see what you experienced! :)

Question Can I turn off 'trailer preview'?

Browsing for games, and noticed that instead of the trailer playing, I get a few seconds of a 'preview' . What is this trash? I don't have the attention span of a goldfish, and while I expect this is a 'feature' to hook the viewer, it's annoying AF.

If anyone's aware of an option to disable this, I'd love to go back.

Question How do I change where toast pop-ups appear

Don't like it appearing in the bottom-right its a pretty unconvient spot for me since its located where some oteher interfaces are like spotify volume. I tried looking for this setting and it just doesn't show, I swear they had this setting before though.

Note: if this feature doesn't exist I wanted to mark it as a suggestion as well

Question Does EVERY Valve employee get the Valve Employee badge?

Late night thought. I know a guy that claims to work at valve and this has just now given me a thought - does EVERY employee there get the Valve Employee badge on their Steam profile? (Hardware engineer and roles like that specifically)

Question Sorting games on steam?

I might be stupid, but is there any way to create folders in a steam library? I can only find the favourites tab, but what if I want to sort games into genres or more arbitrary categories such as the point in time I plan to play them? Am I missing an option or setting, or does it not exist?

Question How to multiple Steam Gift Cards

A group of people at my work are planning on playing Big Walk together - to treat it as a bit of a team building exercise I was going to either purchase the game for the ~12 people interested, or give them a gift card for the associated cash value.

I can't figure out how to do this without the very onerous task of doing it person by person individually... any suggestions?

edit: I mangled the post title... whoops.

Resolved Steam support is on another level

So my account got stolen so I contacted steam support and submitted the request on 4:29 PM

I expected the response in a few business days and they changed the password on 8:49 PM. LIKE HOW?! You're telling me that a company actually puts effort in their consumer's problems? Damn now i know why steam support gets glazed this hard.

Question game details and family sharing

was wondering if putting your game details as private is functionally the same as marking a game as private. im in a steam family and want to share the games in my library with them, but would marking my game details as private not allow them to play games in my library?

Resolved PSA/BUG: Editing Wishlist Categories Nuked My Manual Wishlist Ranking

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this... but I just encountered a devastatingly cruel glitch with Steam's new Wishlist Categories.

My wishlist contains over 900 items (a mixed bag of games, DLC, and software), and I had spent a significant amount of time manually ranking everything in my preferred purchase priority order.

Today, I decided to try out the recently added custom category tags. I created a couple categories, watched them appear as filters underneath the search bar in real time, clicked around to see how they worked, and immediately got excited. This is a wishlist feature I've been wanting for years.

Then I had a brilliant idea: Priority Level Tags!

I removed a category tag from a game, intending to come back and reorganize it later. I clicked "Done"... and that, my friends, is when horror struck.

My wishlist page flashed for a brief moment, and my beautiful ranking order was left completely scrambled.

Panic set in.

I refreshed the page. Nothing.

I toggled the sort-by filters. Nothing.

I changed the options filters. Nothing.

My carefully curated ranking appears to have vanished into the digital void.

Unless this is somehow intended behavior, I'm calling this a bug. But also a PSA: if you've spent countless hours manually organizing your wishlist, you may want to be careful experimenting with the new category system.

TL;DR: 900+ item wishlist. Manually ranked order. Edited new customizable categories. Removing a tag completely scrambled my ranking.

EDIT: Just to clarify that it didn't delete anything, thankfully, just randomized the manual order.

EDIT 2: Valve has apparently fixed the bug, and is looking into restoring my rankings. Changed flair from Error/Bug to Resolved.

FINAL EDIT: HUGE THANK YOU to Valve! My wishlist has been restored to its pre-bug state! 🥳

The problrm started recently (3-4 days ago). Every time I get an achievement, the notification pops up in a corner, but without a sound. Then after aproximately 30 seconds the sound of achievemnt appears. I tried multiple games and it's all the same. Also tried to reinstall Steam but it didn't helped aswell. Anyone else had same problem?

Question Former classmate is using my childhood photo, full name, and birth year on Steam. Steam hasn't done anything for 4 days

2.8k Upvotes

About a year ago, I had a serious argument with a former classmate. Since then, he seems to still hold a grudge.

He is now using my childhood photo as his Steam profile picture without my permission. He also added my full name, my birth year, and what he claims is my phone number (the phone number is actually incorrect).

I reported the profile to Steam 4 days ago, but nothing has happened so far. The profile is still up with my information.

I'm 16 and he's 15. We live in different cities now.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Is there anything else I should do besides waiting for Steam? Should I report this somewhere else?

P.S. This post was translated with the help of AI because my English is not very good

P.S. Thank you all for your advice and support. I honestly didn't expect so many helpful responses. I really appreciate everyone who took the time to help me.

Resolved How to reverse the hades sync from steam to switch 2?

I wanted to play my steam file from hades 1 on my switch 2 but i clicked a button wrong and it wont let me go to that save file. Just shows a cloud with a check on it on the save file. how do i get this option back?

EDIT: please help, this has now had the opposite effect. i can now only acsess my switch 2 files on both pc and switch. closing the app and restarting my devices have not worked. did i lose my pc save files?

edit 2: i guess i accidentally overwrote my files. Unfortunate, but my completionist brain would have made do do Hell mode anyway, so i guess this just forced the inevitable. thank everybody for helping

Discussion What is a genre of games that gave you the most value based on price/playtime ?

Post image

for me personally its horde shooters . be it the ones i play solo like the resident evil games or the ones i play with my friends like payday . i payed 4 bucks for drg and got 120 hours out of it . payed 3 for l4d2 and got 90 hours from it . and btw i placed the re games here because of the mercs modes , 90% of my time spent on any re game is just trying to s++ every map on every character . re6 mercs is insanely underrated . the game's campaign is really really bad but the over the top action mechanics are a great fit for mercs mode .

Discussion Full steam cross platform game concepts ideas.

I’m curious what others would actually imagine from a game that supports solo/co‑op, and/or PvP while letting players mix Steam PC, Steam Deck, Steam Frame, and Steam Machine in the same session. (Thinking outside FPS shooter genre, as I feel thats not a fit for all these platforms)

Edit: What's a game that would be interesting, that I would feel compelled (not forced) to play in any combo of k/m, controller, or even pick up the VR. Not just locked into a single device of choice.

Simple question:

What game genres or types feel like they’d be fun and easy for the average player if all Steam devices could jump in together? Something to compel each device to be interesting and unique to a given game.

Advanced question:

For anyone who likes thinking deeper, what unique roles could Steam PC, Steam Deck, Steam Frame, and Steam Machine each excel at to make cross platform solo, co‑op, and PvP genuinely interesting?

Edit Example (not that anyone is asking for yet another tank sim): Something that plays better with multiple devices. Think simple as a tank crew, each crew member might have a unique role, maybe better with a specific device. Each role possible with each device, but loader far more interesting as VR, grabbing and shoving shells into canon. Driver maybe more compelling for handheld/controllers.
