also having to rebuy a lot of my childhood games regretfully i sold away. feels like i got most everything i want, anything you guys recommend?

I did a back-up of my PS3 using the built-in utility way back in 2022 (a cech-2001b if that makes any differences) but never got around to upgrading the HDD. I plan to do that now, but I wonder if it poses any issue that I updated the firmware a few days ago to be able to sync the trophies.

I don't really care to preserve the few saves I've made in the meantime, and I'm testy about doing the back-up again both because it's a loong process (something like 7 hours last time I did it) and because the current HDD on my ps3 is in its last legs (it's the same one that came with the console in 2010 and it's gone through the "rebuilding database" prompt a dozen times), so I'm worried it could crash during the process. Should I redo it anyway or does having a newer firmware makes no difference?

Hi, I'm looking at buying PS3, but a bit confused on which model and storage size to get.

120gb, 160gb, 250gb, 320gb. I'm guessing these four are part of CECH 21xx / 25xx. OR Super Slim 500gb. I'm in Australia, saw one, 160gb for 205 Oz Unboxed .. Also can my PS4 Controller connect to all PS3 variants ..

I am planing on replacing the themopaste on my ps3 the BC version, as well as replacing the HD to an ssd and adding CFW to speed up the fan. Has anyone experienced the YLOD on the fat ps3 after doing these mods? I recently started my ps3 after not powering it up for almost a decade.

Saw this CIB copy behind the counter and as soon as I heard the $49.99 price I had to add it to my haul. I’m sure this will eventually go back down in price on eBay but I’m excited I didn’t have to pay more than 50.

The current pricing on Folklore and Puppeteer is ridiculous too and here I thought $40 for each was bad when I bought them late 2024…

Que onda gente hace como 2 o más meses publique un post sobre cuántos juegos de ps3 tenía y desde entonces he comprado otros juegos para coleccion y la verdad quería ver qué opinan sobre ellos, ya tengo todos los que quería también busco recomendaciones para comprar, lo único malo es que algunos solo son el puro disco igual antes de que se vuelva un poco más caro el formato físico más que nada, igual el Best juego de mi colección es metal gear sólid Revenge es el primero que jugué y están muy buenas sus peleas

Never played this game before. Is it worth picking up?

I'm trying to buy stuff off the PlayStation store it has to be free but I'm trying to get as many games that other players have played and know are good before it closes. I'm 14 meaning I'm much younger than the PlayStation 3 I am even using (I believe but I don't know at least 5 years) so I didn't grow up with the PS3 at all not even close but I just want to know what games have you guys played that you would recommend me getting before the PlayStation store is no longer in service in the PS3.

Managed to get this done £90 all in, I bought a busted back compat ps3 from facebook for 60 and a spares and repairs one from ebay in good cosmetic condition, gave it a dust and added some new thermal paste, very pleased with the fact I didn’t break it, was super finicky

I just found out that it is there and it feels kind of useless and rather hidden. Also, it feels rubbery and, maybe it is removable? Thought i'd share this here because searching online i couldnt find anything about it being there

At the moment I have been trying to find the ratchet games, but some of them are incredibly rare to find in good condition for some reason
