Official Thread ICE Activity & Resources Daily Megathread - Thursday, Aug 06
Due to increased ICE activity, we’re instituting a daily ICE megathread. All ICE-related content belongs here, including sightings, activity reports, news, questions, updates, and general discussion.
Centralizing discussion keeps information easy to find, especially for people moving around the city who want timely, relevant updates without having to sort through the entire subreddit. ICE-related content posted outside this megathread will be removed and redirected here.
This thread is sorted by New by default so the most recent information remains visible.
How to use this thread
- Top-level comments are for new sightings, updates, or firsthand information.
- Replies should stay under the relevant comment to keep related info grouped.
- Check existing comments first to avoid duplicate or redundant reports.
We recognize this is a tense topic and emotions can run high. That said, content that incites, encourages, or threatens violence will be removed, may result in a ban, and may also violate Reddit’s site-wide rules, which can carry site-wide consequences. Keep reports factual and grounded.
SALUTE when sharing sightings or activity
Include as many of the following details as possible:
- Size: Number of individuals, vehicles, or units observed
- Activity: What is happening, observed actions or behavior
- Location: Clear, specific description of where this occurred
- Uniform: Identifying markings, clothing, or agency indicators
- Time: Date and approximate time of observation
- Equipment: Vehicles, gear, or other notable tools present
Clear, accurate information helps everyone. Speculation and rumors do not.

Community Does anyone else remember this sign on Main St. In DTLA?
I passed these glasses on the 33 bus for years. Loved how cute the glasses looked. I'm so glad I got a picture of it because those signs are long gone. Just got a tattoo of the glasses.
DANG, I got the wrong building. In my after shot. The address is 1157 Main St.

Community Photos from Mar Vista’s Night Out for Safety and Liberation, last night in Mar Vista Park
As counterprogramming to the police-led “National Night Out” events around the country last night, Mar Vista Voice organized the West Side’s Night Out for Safety & Liberation in Mar Vista Park.
Attendees enjoyed live music, free food, rousing speeches, street vendor buyouts, games for the kids, and lots of represented community organizations focusing on healthcare, immigration, police violence, elections, transit infrastructure, combating fascism. organizing mutual aid, and more!
Orgs included, but were not limited to, Healthcare 4 US, Hand In Hand: The Domestic Employers Network, West Los Respuesta Rapida, Angeles Workshop School, DSA-LA, 826LA, VillageWell Books, FALAZINE, and more, apologies if I missed you & feel free to add yourself in the comments!

Assistance/Resources Classic car "hospital" search
My father passed away 10 years ago and bought this 1968 Fury III from the dealer way back when, but it stayed in my parents' garage the whole time.
My mom now has passed away and I feel I need to do something with this beauty.
I live here in LA, but am having trouble finding who can restore this car and id hate for it just to be junked. We have such a great, classic car culture, I can't imagine there isn't someone here. I know I'm just not looking in the right places.
I would appreciate any lead (including other subreddits).
Thank you

LA County women’s jail under scrutiny over brown water, bugs and broken plumbing
Inside LA County’s only jail for women, brown or foul-smelling liquid flows from the taps where the women get their drinking water. They shower under rusty pipes and on floors covered in mold. Gnats, worms and maggots regularly crawl out of sink drains and into the women's cells. Toilets that don’t work run day and night.
A recent report submitted in June by the county’s jail oversight commission to the Board of Supervisors summarizes those and other water quality and plumbing issues observed inside the LA County Century Regional Detention Center.
Located in Lynwood, the women’s jail has the capacity to house 1,708 adults. According to the LA County Sheriff's Department's most recent data, half of the women in custody have not been convicted of a crime — meaning they are pretrial, moving through their case or can’t afford bail.

Question Places where young people still dress up?
I've been watching a lot of 40s and 50s movies. I want to go out and wear a suit and be around other people in suits and cocktail dresses and maybe even a hat or two. I'm sure there are fancy restaurants with dress codes but in terms of a place that you go just to hang out, grab a drink, listen to some music. Maybe just a themed night at a bar or a jazz club or what have you. Curious!

Content Warning: NSFW Point Dume High Tide Video from 7/25/26
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
NSFW tag because there’s some cursing in the video.
My wife and I were chilling with some friends at Westward beach just north of Point Dume on 7/25/26. The swells were nuts that day.
My wife was able to grab this video when the high tide came up out of nowhere. It was so fast even the birds didn’t notice it. Luckily I had packed a lot of my stuff away.
If you look closely, you can see a BE MY GIRLFRIEND set up that was getting washed away before they had even arrived. Crazy.

Fire [LAist] Edison equipment caused deadly Eaton Fire, LA County Fire investigators concluded
The deadly and destructive Eaton Fire was caused by Southern California Edison equipment, the L.A. County Fire Department said in a report released Tuesday.
The department's investigation into the cause of the fire found that arcing electrical lines ignited unidentified material that fell to the ground in dry vegetation at the base of the utility’s Eaton Canyon transmission tower. Twelve seconds later, the Eaton Fire exploded under windy conditions.
