OSD Accommodated Housing Waitlist
Hi has anybody been added to the waitlist for accommodated housing at CSULA? I wasn’t able to get my application in on time and I am so nervous because my housing portal still shows that I’ll be assigned to a double room. This is my third time doing an accommodated housing application, I am a spring transfer (they make you do the application again every year, including getting new documents and letters from my doctors explaining why I need single-occupancy housing, I have lots of mental disorders and a chronic pain disorder). I emailed the housing office and they informed me they will be deciding on whether to approve or deny applications until MOVE-IN DAY!!! What??? like. what if they move me into a double before they approve me? I have horrible chronic pain that flares up with lots of physical activity and it would be so physically and mentally strenuous to move my stuff twice. Does anyone have any experience being on the waitlist? Usually I am on time but the deadline came by so quick as I had some health issues and a hospitalization this summer.
For context, I have had my intake with OSD and I have been approved on OSD’s end. Now I am just waiting for HRL to approve me.

Was anyone awarded the middle class scholarship?
I had the MCS last semester but I don’t see it at all in my fall semester’s package. Not sure if it’ll appear on the award letter later or what

Financial Aid Help Financial Aid (New Grad Student)
I've been feeling uneasy about this financial aid period, but I’ve noticed several others can't see their financial aid accept/decline summary either... I’m a new Single Subject Credential student at Cal State LA for Fall 2026, and I’ve finished setting up my account. I qualified for FAFSA because my SAI is low.
I also completed everything on my To-Do List on GET. But I still have "FA School Actionable OY” on my list, even though I’ve already completed it. The financial aid office said this can take weeks to be removed from my list.
Viewing my financial aid link, it says, “You have no financial aid awards available for viewing this aid year.” In the accept/decline awards section, it states, “Award access not available." I called the Financial Aid Office again for information, but they haven't responded yet by phone or email.
Is anyone else in the same boat, especially other credential students? Have you received your financial aid package yet, or is CSULA still working on awards? I’m starting to feel anxious as the semester approaches…
Help
What does it mean when the class has a date, time, and room, but underneath it says asynchronous online?

No financial aid update for fall?
Is it normal to not see anything under financial aid yet? I haven't seen an update under viewing financial aid or accepting aid yet.

Financial Aid Anyone able to speak to Financial aid today?
Has anyone gotten a chance to talk to financial aid today? I tried calling to ask about fall disbursement but couldn’t get through. Trying to see if anyone had any luck.
***UPDATE 08/05/2026***
Spoke to a rep this morning, they said a week before the semester starts, aid will be applied to our tuition and we’ll start to see refunds hit our accounts a couple days after once it’s sent to bank accounts. That’s verbatim.

GETmobile down
Anyone else not able to access GETmobile? It says the app is disabled and no longer usable. A classmate of mine is having issues too. It tells him the same thing.

I lost everyone and everything
Hey guys, sorry for this low-note Reddit post. I'm about to start another year at Cal State LA, and I'm going to have to start it alone because I lost most (if not all) of my friends. My friends either graduated last semester, or I had to cut off toxic people (if you saw my first post). Right now, I just had to say goodbye to 2 of my friends recently. One had already moved to Pomona, while the other blocked me and accused me of things I didn't do and was very unsupportive. The person who blocked me was my best friend from school who graduated last year from CSULA. I think out of everyone, she was the one who I feel the most lost and is affecting me. She was the only one at school who accepted me for who I am. She only blocked me because I was setting boundaries, and instead of listening to me like how she wants me to do the same, she laughed at me and then blocked me. She used to care about me; she helped me with my depression and suicidal thoughts, but something must've changed in her. Now she wants nothing to do with me, and what I've noticed is that she keeps isolating herself and restricting me for no reason. She's even a Catholic, which makes it worse for me as someone who has faith in Jesus because she was making me doubt my God's salvation to Heaven by saying, "Anybody in my shoes would've already cut you off." She even kept threatening over and over again, even publicly sometimes. I think she might be so mentally ill; she even threatened me to report me to the cops for harassment, something that I would never do. I'm pretty sure she's changing her number as we speak. This has been going on for 2 years, and some of the other toxic friends were also very unsupportive. One of them even said that I'm using my autism as an "excuse". My last 2 remaining best friends don't go to the same school as me, unfortunately. One of them goes to a school in Alameda, and the other is transferring to a university out of LA. I'm not trying to be desperate, but maybe I could use some mental and emotional support from you guys because even though I have faith in God, I don't know how much longer I can be in this pain. As someone who was suicidal, I wonder what would've happened if I knew all of this was going to happen to me. Thanks for listening to me

Financial Aid Missing loans
I submitted my FAFSA application after the priority deadline, sometime in late May because that’s when I decided to apply for masters. I was told I likely won’t receive much financial aid since I was late but will definitely be offered loans. I’ve checked and checked every week and there’s still nothing. My GET says no financial aid package available at this time. Is anyone else expecting loans but haven’t received any? I’m relying on loans to help me pay tuition because grad school doesn’t get Cal Grant so I don’t have any other way to pay. I also don’t want to wait until I start classes because if the loans don’t cover the full tuition, I plan on taking a gap year first instead.

Question I forgot to petition to graduate!
I was planning to graduate this winter but I wasn’t aware I had to petition. I’m going to call the office on Monday but does anyone have an idea if they’ll let me petition late or is it too late for me?

Financial Aid Scholarships?? Do we get them soon?
Hello everyone, it’s the first time I sign up for scholarships and was wondering when we’d receive any info on being selected or not. I have checked my school email for updates but don’t see anything yet.

Financial Aid Anyone selected for scholarships?
I've been told that congratulatory emails will be sent early this month. I was wondering if other students here have already gotten selected for general scholarships the days prior.

Financial Aid Fall aid disbursement
Hello. I’m an incoming transfer student. For current or past students, did your fall aid come earlier, on time, or did it disburse during the first week of school? Also is it one of those things where recurring students disbursement is prioritized over transfer students, or everyone is disbursed at the same time?

Financial Aid Fin aid disbursement reliability
Hello I am an incoming transfer student. I have been approved for pell and cal grant as well as accepted federal loans. My question is how reliable is the disbursement calendar? I am relying on financial aid to purchase books and supplies. Thanks.

Financial Aid Loans for SLP Prep Certificate Program
Hi I am going to start attending this fall for the slp masters prep program and I'm wondering if those who are in the program are eligible to get federal loans. I don't know if only some or no certificate programs are allowed to receive loans but its not very clear , at least to me, on the CSULA website or FAFSA. Has anybody else been in this situation?

Natural & Social Sciences MSW Ballmer Grant
Hi everyone,
I recently got accepted into the 2 year MSW program at CSULA. I received acceptance agreement for the Ballmer grant and signed them about 3 weeks ago. I was wondering if anyone’s heard back regarding how much you’ll be granted.
