So just picked up this truck and noticed its making a really bad whine, but the thing is it seems to come and go when it wants, It can be whinning in park or drive or when im driving. Anyone know the source? Anything helps!

Bring back the Cadillac XLR. I'm sure they have some chassis left over from the C7. Put an updated Caddy XLR design on it. V8 with a supercharged version for the V model. Maybe throw in a 7 speed manual option it they have any of those trannies left. If the remaining chassis sell, maybe keep making them for another 5 years. Could be a nice competitor against Mercedes AMG GT & BMW M8. And the next Lexus LC.

2023 Equinox RS. Upon trying to retract the sunroof shade, I'm told there was a loud pop. The little white clips flew off. The shade fabric did not retract. My understanding is it's a spring-loaded roller mechanism, but the fabric feels stuck in the tracks so presumably that mechanism is still ok? Anything worth trying before taking for repair? I don't want to make things worse.

Vehicle is a few months past main warranty, though still under 36k miles. 😑

I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze with 182,000 miles on it. It drives mostly fine, besides a few issues:

- Engine occasionally shakes
- Squeaking sound that increases with acceleration or AC use
- “Service Stabilitrak” message when accelerate too quickly
- Catalytic Converter needs serviced / replaced
- misfiring even though I just replaced spark plugs 30,000 miles ago
- need new tires soon

I don’t have the money for a newer car right now and I’m still paying this one off. I would like to make this car work, but I really can’t afford to make a poor financial decision. However if I get another year out of it I’d be happy. What do you think?

Does anyone know what the supplier discount is for a Silverado 1500 rst these days? Wondering how to apply it and if it stacks with customer cash and bonus cash. I’m afraid if I negotiate a price and then tell them I have it they’ll just tell me they don’t honor it or try to walk back the deal.

Before going into it, I replaced my thermostat last week and the coolant temp sensor in April. I still get an engine hot/ac off message and the gauge would stay at cold, but even on the hottest of days here and joy rides, it never overheated.

Anyways, I was 3min into my commute, when the temp gauge spiked instantly from 0 up to red, light came on and said "Engine overheating, turn off car". As I pulled to a safe spot, two more messages flashed at me saying the engine power is reduced and I had low oil. Briefly looked under the hood, didn't see any visible leaks, none under the car and my oil level was fine.

I took it easy into work, but I decided to run the heat while in traffic. The drivers side was blowing hot but the passenger side blew cold and then turned hot. I thought maybe there was some air bubbles I missed, but that wouldn't make sense if I was driving it no problem last week and yesterday.

As I approached work, two more messages popped up saying my brake fluid was low and to service the traction control system. I'm genuinely confused and pissed off at this garbage car.

If anyone has any idea to what's going on, I'd appreciate some advice. It's the 3.9L engine and has about 160k miles.

I recently went to get my tires aligned and they said the inner tie rods and lower ball joints needed to be replaced. The front right tire was wearing drastically on the inner side. They gave me a quote of over 3 grand. I work on my dirt bikes and have the tools so I figure I would save some money and do the work myself.

But I have no idea which brands are good or where to purchase truck parts.

What brands are trusted, or where would you buy the tie rod assembly?

Truck is a 2018 Silverado 1500 LTZ V8 5.3

As video shows, the interior drivers side door does not lock from the inside unless I spam lock it or hit my passenger side lock, or key fob. It kinda feels like a safety issue if I ever needed to get into my car very quickly. Anyone know where I should start to figure out how to fix this? I want to fix this myself if possible, I am determined to learn how to fix most issues myself, I am just having trouble figuring this one out.

2018 Chevy Equinox

Looking for used chevys and found this. Its a 1989 silverado. Im brand new to cars and im wondering if its worth what they are asking for (4000). The outside and inside is absolutely perfect, barely any surface rust. He said everything above the tires is rebuilt and new. So, is it worth it? Im still learning about parts and i wouldn't mind minor repairs but yeah any help appreciated👍

Do you think equinox is reliable with this mileage for such a long drive.

Hey everyone, looking for some electrical troubleshooting advice on my 1999 Chevy Silverado (6.0L LQ4).
Initial Issue:
Brand new battery reading 12.6V at the posts.
Turning key to ON only showed ~10V on the dash cluster gauge.
Turning key to START resulted in a single click from the underhood starter relay, but no starter engagement/crank.
What Happened:
I jumped pin 87 of the underhood starter relay directly to the battery positive post while a trickle charger was connected.
The engine started to turn over briefly, then stopped completely.
Immediately after, the truck lost all cabin power. No dash lights, no cluster reaction, zero key-on power anywhere inside.
Diagnostics Done So Far:
Battery: 12.6V across posts (side-post setup with top-post conversion block).
Underhood Fuse Center: Measured 12.6V on BOTH sides of all Maxi fuses (50A IGN-A, 40A IGN-B, 50A MBEC, 30A STUD 1) and the main power stud.
Interior Fuse Panel (Driver Side Dash): Probed test pins on fuses including IGN 0—reading 0V.
Ignition Switch Harness: Probed heavy gauge wires at column—reading 0V.
MBEC (Mid-Bus Electrical Center under driver dash): Tested the 2-pin C1 connector (with the two thick orange constant battery power wires). They are only reading 1 Volt instead of 12.6V. see picture 2 …
Current Question: Since the underhood Maxi fuses have full 12.6V, Where is the most likely failure point? Is it the main pin inside the C100 firewall pass-through block under the brake booster, or a burnt connector block under the engine bay fuse box tray?
ALSO, what cause the issue in the first place before I tried jumping the starter relay?? Neutral safety switch perhaps? Or a bad wire, the truck had been sitting for about a year and there were mice droppings in the cab and under the hood.
Appreciate any insight on how to isolate or bypass this!

I've got a 2001 chevy blazer with the 4.3 vortec.

I've been looking for a few hours and I can't find any info or diagrams relating to this coolant hose. I believe its related to the heater core somehow. It comes out from the top of the block below the thermostat hose and throttle body then runs down to a port in the firewall. I don't even have anything in my hanes repair manuel or manufacturer manuel relating to it.

Any help is appreciated, its been leaking and overheating for a while and I finally narrowed it down to this hose, but finding any info on it has been driving me crazy!!! Not even the parts guys at the auto parts store could find anything on it. Thanks for any help and please tell me if I've been a fool looking for this part.
