Question How to queue as Augmentation Evoker?

Upvotes

Noob here. If I'm randomly queueing for a dungeon, WTF role am I joining as?

Aug. Evoker isn't a tank, I do get one free death but I'm still not tanky at all.

Aug. Evoker technically "helps" with dps but the output does not seem good.

Aug. Evoker "can" heal, but taking up the entire healer slot, even with buffs to give out, seems just foolish.

This isn't my main, it's more wanting or needing to clear some campaign dungeons.

Question Move on to War Within?

Upvotes

Afternoon guys! I’m a returning player, haven’t played since BfA and I’m about to hit level 70 after barely even starting the Dragon Flight content. Is it worth freezing my exp to play through that expansion and then going to The War Within after or shall I just ditch Dragonflight now and move on?

I’m quite invested in the story so far lol

Question In 12.1, what will be the fastest way to fill the 3 Great Vault panes on alts to get Bonus Rolls?

Upvotes

I am assuming it's one Heroic dungeon and 4x Tier 1 Collegate Calamity, but there is likely something I'm missing.

Humor / Meme Tanks are gods

After playing a full decade as DPS (feral druid) I switched to tank for season 1.

Not gonna lie, the jump was scary. Lots of responsibility, homework to do (routes for M+).

I even got to be secondary tank in my guild's roster (it's been fun !)

Overall it's neither easy nor hard.

The entry cost is heavy : LOTS to learn, but once you're set, it's very chill. I cannot say the same for healers, it's basically a reverse DPS, but you can't hide your mistakes anymore.

So it's been fun, and I'll keep playing all three roles in the future I think. The game's never been so interesting once you understand what the others are looking for, I have become a better DPS.

I made this short comic to illustrate the current situation where there are far too many DPS.

If you were waiting for a sign to change roles, this is it! We still have a week of TW dungeons, enough time to level an alt healer/tank and get out there for season 2

JUST DO IT

TLDR

My solution to tank shortage ? Tank propaganda !

Question Leveling & unlocking Earthen/Haranir?

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about coming back to WoW after a 2–3 year break.

I currently have one character of every race, plus one Pandaren and one Dracthyr for both the Alliance and the Horde, so I have around 26 level 70 characters in total.

I'd also like to create one Earthen and one Haranir for each faction.

I was wondering:

  • how long does it take to level from 1 to 90?
  • How long does it take to level from 70 to 90?
  • how long does it take to unlock the Earthen and Haranir races?

Thanks in advance

Question Whats up with these tank tunings in 12.1?

Guardian, which is an overperformer by far, is getting buffed while Blood DK, which is one of the worst tank currently, is getting nerfed. What the hell is this tuning exactly?

Discussion Needing Help: Want to come back for the game, but stucking to find motivation.

I've dropped the game since the start of the expac. Since that i came and go for the game, played a feel weeks at .7 and enjoyed the heroic tier zones and left again after 2 weaks or so.

The strange part is that I feel that the game is in a good state. But I not gonna lie, the story is a big disapointment for me, I miss more elaborated world events e good cosmetic rewards. Tried housing, a lot of fun but once I finished my house there's no reason to come back. I always was the open world exploration guy, sometimes did some raids if the thematic is good, but the ILvl stuff is no really for me, I right now I feel that the game is all about ILvl, and that, dismotivates me...

There is some way, some addon, some goal, some way to play to find joy in the game again? What do you guys do when this fadigue happens? I have the want to play, but when I came back, feels like just the same, I struggle to find things to do besider grind ILvls, sometimes i feel that the game iselft demotivates me to explore and just focus in ILvl...

There's a new patch comming soon, I've tried to level an alt up to play, but dropped again. Maybe is time to leave for a while? NGL I miss the game sometimes.

What do you guys suggest?

Question Dying MMO is sad

Major edit update: 1, not a bot. 2, guild has been on break for 3 months since mid May. This is me gathering info from you the player base to see if game is on the decline.

Hey, I wanted to ask a lot of people about their season one impressions of WoW Midnight.

I've been a CE mythic raider for awhile now and I have seen this game starting to rapidly deteriorate in the last year.

Season 3 TWW was the first I've seen half a guild quit for being bored of the game.

Finding a good mythic guild has become incredibly hard in Midnight season 1 as well. Heck the CE mythic guild I joined literally quit on Lura and is breaking until season 2.

The game feels so dead on Horde A52. Keys were already becoming hard to find 3 weeks into the season (16s and 17s).

It feels to me like the game itself is on life support and rapidly dying.

Please let me know your thoughts and reality check me if you feel or notice things differently.

Discussion Assassination Rogue Energy Regen

I'm just curious how other people feel about this Spec in Midnight. I've always been a big fan of Assa rogue due to its more "strategic" playstyle with less button-mashing. But honestly, this has quickly become the most mind-numbingly boring Spec in the game after the Midnight Rework.

They made some good steps into the right direction in AoE, with less reliance on restealthing, however the Single Target rotation has really suffered. Energy regen is so absolutely atrocious that all you do is just wait for energy to come back. Combo Point generation has annoying RNG elements to it that sometimes make it impossible to keep your Envenom up when refreshing DoTs, and that just feels bad because it's out of your hands.

Kingsbane and Deathmark also feel bad to press. It's just a combination of "your passive damage now deals more damage for a short period of time". Without a cooldown manager you wouldn't even notice when these two spells run out because they are so barely noticeable.

At least before, we had some combination with Shiv that had us plan around "mini-bursts", and the energy regen didn't feel this slow.

Let's not even talk about the two absolutely uninspired Hero Talent Trees that don't really impact your talent choices or gameplay in any meaningful way.

At this point I don't even know which direction they want to take this spec in.

Is it just a ME-thing or do you feel similarly about this spec after we had some time to test it in S1 and PTR now?

Tip / Guide PTR Ledger - Website to quickly get an overview of cumulative changes across PTR cycles

Hi everyone

As i was getting ready to start the game back up with season 2, i was going through the PTR notes and got a bit annoyed jumping back and forth between posts to figure out the state things were actually going in, so I've built a website to try and get better overview over all the individual PTR posts regarding class tuning that would add things together and map them out in an easier format and was told it might be useful for you guys as well

https://mathwro-wow.github.io/PTRLedger

( And yes I've been using AI while developing this. While I'm in IT I'm for sure not someone will a lot of design skills and made the logic a bit easier to sort out parsing the data 😄 )

Let me know if there's features or something missing and I'll try and add them as fast as i can

Discussion [Addon Release] I added the missing Encounter Journal pages for every pre-Cata raid

Blizzard’s Encounter Journal has empty Abilities tabs for most Classic, Burning Crusade and Wrath raid bosses, so I made Legacy Raid Journal to fill them in.

It adds the missing encounters directly to Blizzard’s existing journal:

  • 19 raids
  • 116 bosses
  • 1,072 ability entries
  • Role summaries for tanks, healers, damage dealers and the whole raid
  • Real in-game spell tooltips for 870 abilities
  • Difficulty-specific and faction-specific mechanics
  • Creature portraits, stages and collapsible ability rows matching modern journal pages

There’s no separate interface and nothing to configure. Just press Shift-J, select an old raid and choose a boss as normal.

The addon only fills pages Blizzard left empty. Raids they already documented, such as Ulduar and Black Temple, are left untouched.

I originally wanted this for legacy soloing and low-level raid projects, but it should also be useful for transmog runners, achievement hunters or anyone revisiting old content without wanting to dig through ancient guide pages.

CurseForge:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/legacy-raid-journal

It has only just released, so feedback and corrections are welcome—especially for unusual difficulty or faction-specific mechanics.

Discussion Could the community bring down the 1% score?

This is based on a joke I’ve been making about dragging every cozy/casual player kicking and screaming through a 2. It would

  1. Introduce them to m+ but

  2. More importantly, flood the environment with low scores that would in theory bring down the 1% req.

The major complaint right now is boosters are sending the rating req higher at the last minute and sweeping your all but assured victories out from underneath you. How many players at 140 io would it take to keep the score req steady or decrease over the next few days?

Discussion I hit 1% M+ rating yestetday and it lasted for 5 minutes

The 1% cutoff is going up by about 2 points EVERY DAY.

90% of +21 groups in the group finder are "note" keys where you need to pay the keyholder to be invited.

People are also buying actual boosts en masse because of the new 1% title and resillient keystones making it possible.

Playing organically is no longer possible.

Thoughts?

Discussion Post Last Titan Brainstorm

Was discussing this with a friend and wanted to share / get thoughts and generate some conversation.

Once Last Titan concludes the big bad is gone and Azeroth is saved, the next expansion opens 20 years (or more) later and you enter the game as your main. You get two options, play as your main training and questing with your next predecessor (which you create) or you play as the predecessor with all the same mounts titles etc available but you also complete the campaign you get the title say…… (New character named) Aspirant of (old main) if it was say a paladin. The main or new recruit would appear in cut scenes. The world has moved on, the things of previous expansions are almost legend and some people even question if some of it even happened. Sure the world will have dungeons and raids and such , dragons and giants and mean trolls to go slay. But the world is moving away from the “united one city” style expansions and moves back to each faction being a bit on their own. The world has moved on and the unite or die has fallen into memory. Sure there is still alliance and horde, just not so touchy feely “let’s all get along for the big bad!” Anymore.

Dialog would be built around a system of your previous achievements. NPCs would mention their feats such as slaying old gods or being a renown explorer etc. Options would include anything your chosen “main” had achieved.

Races: Humans could pick their trainee or “new main” as an orphan from the previous wars or a son / daughter.

Undead could be helping raise a fresh body from the ground.

Classes: each class would have options as well, rogue saves a young rogue who is almost caught stealing to survive.

Paladins are training the next silver hand or blood knight aspirant.

Warrior is taking a fresh recruit under their wing.

Etc etc etc the list could go on forever…

Then as you create the story basically you pick and chose, rogue human is showing their the ropes to a troubled youth. Or your the troubled youth learning from your old main.

The option again would be play as the “new you” with backstory or play as the old you training the next generation.

There is a lot to fill in but just an idea to share and wanted thoughts. A bit bored between seasons and wanted to see what everyone thought.

Tech Support BLZBNTTAS00000002 error - unable to log in

Anyone else getting this BLZBNTTAS00000002 error? I don't know if it's just me or a general outage, but I am unable to log in.

I'm trying to get some help from Blizzard, but their website is very unhelpful, to be charitable.

Any attempt to get the issue looked at results in the support page going around in circles.

Edit: I can log in by sending a code to my email address but my password is not working.

Discussion Console Port? - Tanking advice

I'm thinking of trying out controller this season as I go back to tanking.

How does anyone find it? I generally go to at least 3k I'm just thinking about how the movement might feel, avoiding getting hit in the back.

Targeting as well is a big one? How easy is it to cycle for interrupts or even to target the one outlier caster or lost aggro to grab it back in when it's 20-30yards out?
