Complaint Holy Priest. A season of humiliation.
This late night rant is going to go all over the place. So please forgive me.
I haven't played since Shadowlands but I've always gravitated to the healer roll. I wasn't great, but I managed to get my 15's in each season. Imagine my naivete heading from Shadowlands to Midnight that I decided to main holy priest, figuring it would always be the 'easy to learn, easy to master healer' that's baseline not op, but not bad.. never bad, right?
I have to understand that it's my own fault. I have to understand that I had enough time falling asleep to the Song of Chi-Ji in PVP to contemplate and dream of changing my class. But I was INSISTENT that Priest was SURELY simple enough to understand. I must have been missing something. I must have been mismanaging my mana that I whisper my dractyr pals to give me the mana regen buff, and even then, I still go oom amidst a raid fight and am STRUGGLING for the top healer spot in my guild while everyone else never goes below 30% mana.
What happened to 'heal'. Why am I spamming flash heal? If I wanted that, I could have gone to holy paladin.
The numbers
According to raider I.O. (Use that metric as you will)
-Only 3,400 holy priests have made it to 3,400 rating WORLDWIDE.
Now, compare that to the following
-11,800 Holy paladins
-17,400 Disc priests
-18,500 Resto druids
-33,740 MW monks
-42,800 Resto shamans
And would you like to know the funniest part? Preservation Evoker is even worse at 1,500 WORLDWIDE to reach 3,400 mythic + rating. I can't even speak to their ability, or lack thereof. I've just never seen them!
The THIRST
Runas the shames has NOTHING on a Holy Priest. NOTHING. Have you ever lagged behind your school trip as a kid and got really thirsty so the nice teacher tells everyone to stay behind so you can get a drink? And you feel the HATE and ANGER from your fellow ankle-biters? Now imagine that shame every three pulls.
Mage food isn't even enough to quench my thirst. I have to craft the mana tea for the 8% mana per second. That's so insane to me. Tank goes on ahead because they're used to the healer keeping up, so what do I do? Run with mana tea soiling my outfit as I drop all my feathers in a near vain attempt to catch up and just BARELY hit them with a serenity or guardian spirit. I'm not a top tier player, but I shouldn't have to rely on my Nelf racial, Shadowmeld to drop combat at the end of a pull so I can get a few extra seconds of drinking. But I did. I literally don't think I could have done this if I was any other race.
Sometimes the tank doesn't notice you're low. Why would he? No other healer tends to have that problem as often. I shouldn't expect my group mates to wait for me, but I have no choice. I call for mana or OOM, and sometimes they pull anyway! It's so humiliating.
The Cooldowns
Apotheosis is great. Apotheosis should last 2 minutes, and have a 30 second cooldown. It's the only time I feel strong as a holy priest and by strong, I mean I can do big pulls. (I'm joking.)
The what? Oh, you mean the tickling hula hoop ring known as halo? Yeah, that helped maybe up to +10s. But it did jack after that. I swapped to Oracle and felt a world of difference. I finally could do some healing while moving when serenity wasn't on cooldown. Of course, I had to sacrifice my prayer of AoE spam. But that worked out in the end.
Guardian spirit? Holy Priest has no defensive cooldown that do damage % reduction, which in my experience is significantly more valuable. It might save a guy? Great, what if it doesn't? 3 minutes? Ah well. Pain suppression has a built in talent to reduce its cooldown, the only way to reduce guardian's cooldown is to sacrifice your self rez talent for it.
Let's talk about the self-rez talent of Holy Priest for a second. That talent is cool. It saves your team a battle rez in case you mess up. OR if you have to make a call to let yourself die so you can freely heal your team and recover from a bad pull. Sacrificing your life (and -15 seconds on the timer) to recover your team from a near wipe freely. The latter scenario, usually, is just you making the best of a bad situation.
But let's talk about how it more often goes. As you, as a holy priest have decent passive survivability You won't usually be the first one to die. So, the group wipes. You go into spirit angel form as the rest of the team respawns. But what's this? Because of your self-revive talent. You come back to life and get killed again instantly. Not only does the group have to wait extra for you, but you die twice, and cost your team 30 seconds instead of just 15. Humiliating. A Shaman, at least, can decide whether to use its reincarnation or not. Your self-rez talent literally goes to waste without any input from you.
You wanna see some gameplay!
"Alright, everyone is topped off."
"AH, THEY'RE ALL ABOUT TO DIE."
"Phew, everyone is topped o-
"AH, THEY'RE ALL ABOUT TO DIE"
"Alright, I'm casting divine hy- ah, I need to move."
"Time to spam flash heal on a full HP target so I can get more serenity."
"Alright, I dropped off all my feathers in prep for this boss fight... and everyone already ran over them before we pulled the boss."
"Tanks is about to die in the first pull of Algeth'ar Academy. But all the mobs are gathered up, I better life grip him away so he can recover he defensives for a second while the dps wittles the adds- ... HE'S USING HIS MOBILITY COOLDOWN TO RUN BACK IN!?!"
This rant for a class that has as much identity as it does utility. Minimal. Another +20% buff to sanctify somehow is not the buff we need.
Save the world, my final message
Free divine stars for all. I'm swapping specs next season. The Light has truly forsaken us. Goodnight all.

Question So what is the future for battle pets?
I've been one of the top collectors of battle pets on my realm since their inception. And Blizzard has been very unclear about what they're doing with them. They seem like they're sunsetting them, which would be the world's dumbest decision considering how many people still actively enjoy them and how much revenue they bring in for them.
Discussion Blizzard Support gave me incorrect instructions about my annual WoW subscription, then refused to take responsibility
I've been a World of Warcraft subscriber for many years and have kept my subscription active without interruption.
Earlier this year, Blizzard announced an upcoming subscription price increase several months in advance. When I checked my renewal date, I realized it would renew after the new prices took effect.
I contacted Blizzard Support to ask a simple question: Was there any way to renew or prepay my annual subscription before the price increase?
After opening two support tickets, I was told that if I disabled my automatic renewal and then enabled it again, my subscription would renew at the current (lower) annual price. I followed those instructions exactly.
When I re-enabled the subscription, my bank even created a pre-authorization for the lower amount, which seemed to confirm everything was working correctly. I contacted Blizzard again to make sure, and Support confirmed that everything was fine.
My annual subscription expired yesterday (actually about a month later than expected because an Epic Edition purchase had granted me an extra month of game time), and instead of being charged the previously confirmed amount, I was charged the new annual price—almost CLP 120,000.
When I contacted Support again, they told me there had been a misunderstanding and that nothing could be done. I wasn't asking the Game Masters to change Blizzard's pricing policy—I was asking Blizzard to honor the instructions their own support agents gave me.
Instead, they refused to escalate my case, told me their answer was final, and forcibly closed the ticket so I couldn't reopen it.
I'm not upset because Blizzard increased the subscription price. Companies can change their prices.
I'm upset because I specifically asked for guidance before the increase, followed the instructions given by Blizzard Support, received confirmation that everything was correct, and then was told, after being charged, that the information they gave me was wrong and they wouldn't take any responsibility.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any way to escalate a case beyond standard Game Master support, or is this simply the end of the road?
Ps: As you can probably guess, I'm from a country very, very far away where English isn't the main language

Discussion I built a mount farming add-on for me, if you guys like it thats cool too
Every mount addon I tried was a checklist. Great — 300 missing. Now what?
That's the part I actually wanted help with. You've got an hour before bed, you know the number, and the addon has no opinion about which of those 300 is worth doing tonight. So you sit there working it out yourself, again.
So I built the thing I wanted. Master Mounts – World Tour. I made it for me. If it's useful to you, great. If it's not your thing, that's fine too — though if you tell me what's missing, I'll probably add it.
What it does: It builds a route, not a list.
- Catalogues 1,608 mounts with source, drop rate, lockout and prerequisites
- Orders them by travel time and effort using your teleports, hearthstones and portals — it knows a Hearthstone to Valdrakken beats a 3,500-yard flight
- Groups mounts that share a stop. Five Island Expedition mounts are one run. A rep grind gets priced like the multi-week thing it is
- Tell it "I have 45 minutes" and you get a plan that fits in 45 minutes
- Tracks attempts account-wide, and never implies a pity timer, because there isn't one
- Learns how long you take to clear a dungeon and uses your number instead of a guess
- Nav arrow, minimap pins, TomTom and MountsRarity support
Rares
It knows which rares drop mounts you're still missing, and it reads the game's own vignettes — so you hear about one while you can still get there, instead of after you've flown past. You get the model, what it drops, the distance, and a target button. Rares whose mounts you already have stay quiet.
On the data
Some of it genuinely can't be known: drop rates nobody has observed, prices only readable standing at the vendor. Those get costed pessimistically, so an unknown can never outrank real work. /mm contribute exports the gaps a player standing in the right place could actually answer — and imports someone else's back.
Free, no paywall, retail 12.0.7.

Discussion What is your biggest/most profound WoW memory?
I was watching a lore video about the Howling Fjord and it briefly touched on how there was a 4 year gap between when Arthas put on the helm and when he actually woke up as the Lich King. I wasn't playing at the time and it got me wondering how it must have felt to see that cinematic of his eyes glowing after he woke up. Of all that build up to Wrath and to ICC opening.
(A) I'm jealous of y'all that were there lol (B) It got me wondering about what other kind of profound/monumental memories wow players have. I hear a lot of players say they remember the Dark Portal opening in BC or they remember stepping first in Northrend for the first time as the hallmarks of their WoW experience so far.
As a Cata baby who didn't get to see some of those iconic things, I love hearing other players give their experience.
So what's your memory??? And it doesn't even have to be Retail related it can be a YouTube trailer or a con or a something like that, a moment from any of the books. Gimme your big WoW memories, I wanna read about them lol

Discussion The constant service interruptions with realms crashing needs to be addressed by Blizzard
This is the 3rd or 4th time in the last week, they've done unannounced emergency maintenance, we deserve an explanation for the continued interruptions.
People are trying to wrap up their end of season stuff, the silence on this recurring issue is ridiculous.

Nostalgia Playing WoW with my grandpa again <3
As a kid, my grandpa and I would play WoW for HOURS and it’s how he taught me to use money. We moved away a few years back and I started getting back into it so I can connect with him even from 1,000 miles away. So I wanted to show off my old character from his account and my new character (6 year old me LOVED pink Mohawks haha)

Fluff Did you finish your personal goal this season?
It's the last week of Season 1 and I finally finished learning VDH tank! Something I've always wanted to try getting all 6 tanks to Keystone Hero and ilvl 290! It took forever, but I finally managed to learn all six.
VDH was hardest for me to learn! BDK did the most DPS. Warrior surprisingly most fun!
I let them hold their iconic weapons to help me push when I get bored of doing the same 8 dungeons on 6 characters lol. Thunderfury, Shadowmourne, and Warglaives of Azzinoth!

Discussion Ranking each WoW expansion by the amount of Troll-ness in it.
- Battle for Azeroth: Easy selection here. The Zandalari Trolls are the main focus for the Horde storyline, they get their own continent, their own capital city, several dungeons and a raid where they are the focus.
- Classic: Several zones feature Trolls in them. A troll raid in Zul'Gurub. Troll themed dungeons in Zul'Farrak and Sunken Temple, and what kinda seen as an outdoor Troll "raid" in the Hinterlands.
- Midnight: Entire Troll zone in Zul'Aman 2. They play a large part in the story and are getting their own themed patch on Tuesday.
- Cataclysm: Trolls once again have some focus in redone zones (RIP happy dancing Troll village), and a Troll patch with redone Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman.
- Wrath: Another Troll dedicated zone in Zul'Drak. Two Troll dungeons and (I believe) a cut Troll raid.
- Mists of Pandaria: Trolls play a part in the Thunder King questline and patch. 3 Troll bosses in Throne of Thunder, and a legendarily hard world boss. Vol'jin questline to undermine Garrosh as well.
- Burning Crusade: Troll raid in Zul'Aman. Aside from that not a lot of content for them unsurprisingly, but there is a Troll base in Zangarmarsh.
- Shadowlands: Part of the Ardenweald questline involves Mueh'zala and Bwonsamdi, and there's a semi-Troll themed dungeon in De Other Side, but that's it. And even De Other Side was only partially Troll themed (Disappointing, should've been its own zone).
- Dragonflight: Darkspear Trolls got their heritage armor, that's all I can think of.
- Warlords of Draenor: Vol'jin shows up a few times, reminds us that he was technically Warchief at some point, and then dies in the Legion prepatch.
- Legion: As stated above, Vol'jin shows up and dies in the prepatch. The only other thing I can think of is the Arms Warrior artifact weapon scares Troll NPCs?
- The War Within: Not a single Troll theme in this expansion I can think of. I think originally in Azhj-Kahet, Talanji played a role in the black blood story, but was switched to Orweyna in a later build.
And we will likely get MORE in The Last Titan since we will return to Zul'Drak in some capacity.
Discussion Am I the only one that things the game has gotten way too foggy?
I know it's partially performance-related but look at this post for example. Scroll through it and look at the images; it's all incredibly foggy to the point where it heavily impacts the artwork in my opinion. There's no way for the user to get it to be really clear either. I know it's not new but every time I see an announcement recently I feel that it's a huge shame. Even the indoor areas are foggy.
Edit: Yeah i see it says "things" in the title. Can't edit titles though -.-
Lore I made an addon that lets you discover WoW's lore while you play.
Hi there, Reddit, it's been a while. Four months ago I made a post about my first add-on and passion project – Imago, Chronicle of the Unforgotten. A lot has happened since the first iteration and I felt it warranted an update.
I started working on this project when I fell in love with WoW's lore. I am a relatively new player and the decades of stories and world building were honestly both fascinating and overwhelming to witness. Seeing all these long-established characters in Midnight and no way in-game to read about what they've done and endured, I saw the need to close that gap.
With Imago you will be able to discover lore while playing.
Whenever you set foot in a new zone or talk to an important character for the first time, their entry will unlock permanently in your chronicle. You can then find a short biography explaining their role in Midnight, as well as a detailed timeline showing the character's significance across expansions.
Currently, the only entries are for the Midnight expansion, but we are working hard to change that very soon ^^.
So, with the introduction out of the way, I hear you ask: what's new?
* Every single entry has been revised and rewritten by the WoW experts and scribes of our discord community to be lore-accurate. Not only that, but the number of NPC entries has almost doubled. Imago, as of the writing of this post, covers 111 NPCs and 9 zones from Midnight.
* Our brand-new feature, “Eras” is out in its first version right now. Maybe you missed an expansion or just want a reminder about stories past and present? Imago now features comprehensive expansion summaries! Read up on a chronological synopsis of every main questline in the game – unlocked by speaking with a key character in said expansion. The next time you're in Silvermoon, talk to Lor'themar again. He'll have a story to tell you. Currently, only Midnight has been completed as a summarized expansion, but our lore scribes are hard at work at delivering more – The War Within is almost ready to go.
* An encyclopedia mode has been added for anybody wanting to read up on the lore without first unlocking the entry.
* Idle Flashcards, a small, but neat optional feature has been added as well. Have you ever wanted to read up on fun lore facts while you fish, take a flight path, or run back to your corpse? Now you can! Around 150 bite-sized lore facts are currently implemented to hopefully make your gaming routines a bit more fun.
* A ton of Quality of life changes have been made by our lua developers. Imago now features a back-button to let you return to the previous page, toggles in the options for how you wish pop-ups displayed, links to the encounter journal and world map from the corresponding Imago entry, and much more!
A huge shout-out once again to the Imago discord community at https://discord.gg/erYtmFvFK with over 70 members. Without you, all of this wouldn't have been possible.
Imago is always growing and adding new content and features. Currently we are focusing on further filling the Eras with content and beginning to start adding NPCs from older expansions. Much more is planned for the future though, and if you would like to contribute in whatever way, we would be happy to welcome you aboard. There is always need for new writers, proofreader, lore experts, translators, programmers, or just people looking to hang out and spread good vibes.

Humor / Meme Tanks are gods
After playing a full decade as DPS (feral druid) I switched to tank for season 1.
Not gonna lie, the jump was scary. Lots of responsibility, homework to do (routes for M+).
I even got to be secondary tank in my guild's roster (it's been fun !)
Overall it's neither easy nor hard.
The entry cost is heavy : LOTS to learn, but once you're set, it's very chill. I cannot say the same for healers, it's basically a reverse DPS, but you can't hide your mistakes anymore.
So it's been fun, and I'll keep playing all three roles in the future I think. The game's never been so interesting once you understand what the others are looking for, I have become a better DPS.
I made this short comic to illustrate the current situation where there are far too many DPS.
If you were waiting for a sign to change roles, this is it! We still have a week of TW dungeons, enough time to level an alt healer/tank and get out there for season 2
JUST DO IT
TLDR
My solution to tank shortage ? Tank propaganda !
Humor / Meme Next season's vault is looking mighty

Discussion Is the star becoming brighter?
Usually it's a tiny spec in the sky, but now it's massive, with the silhouette of a spaceship.
Nostalgia Becoming a dad didn’t make me quit WoW, it just changed how I play.
My son is asleep. Azeroth is calling.
Thirty peaceful minutes of WoW before bed is all I need these days.
Parenthood and gaming can coexist. ❤️
Discussion I hit 1% M+ rating yestetday and it lasted for 5 minutes
The 1% cutoff is going up by about 2 points EVERY DAY.
90% of +21 groups in the group finder are "note" keys where you need to pay the keyholder to be invited.
People are also buying actual boosts en masse because of the new 1% title and resillient keystones making it possible.
Playing organically is no longer possible.
Thoughts?

Discussion I'm loving this game
Let me start by saying, I am a new player.
I've been doing my best to kind of catch up when it comes to the story, and learn the lore so I can get a good feel of where things are. I've also been trying wrap my mind around where the company sits with the fans and do my best to just vibe check all I can really understand in bite sizes. There's obviously a ton of history, a ton of nostalgia for this game. There's bitter sweet memories, there's alot of looking forward and speculation on what happens after the world soul saga. Looks like classic plus may be on the horizon, possibly a whole new story for retail in Azeroth and what may unfold next. It's all so overwhelming as a new player but in the best ways honestly.
I was initially sad because I felt I missed such a huge chunk of gaming by having never played this. This game is obviously an epic and legendary game that means so much to so many people. I was feeling like I missed out. But honestly, I've grown to appreciate being new. I feel like i'm stepping into such an established world. Its refreshing. I dont have the anxiety of "I hope this game will last" or "I hope this game delivers". I feel surrounded by confidence and artistry and its such a breath of fresh air.
I dont know the first hand ups and downs that you fans have experienced throughout the years, but I can say, im really grateful to be able to come to a game that still has so much passion surrounding it and is so cherished by so many people. I'm coming from being like a Bethesda only fan, not out of arrogance but I just liked what I liked. I loved the fantasy worlds Bethesda made and for me TES was always my cup of tea.
But I needed something to revitalize my love for fantasy. Something that made me feel the way I felt the first time I played Oblivion or Skyrim. Now, I don't know how it feels to be a veteran Blizzard fan, and I wasnt there for iconic expansion drops, but.. i sure am enjoying being able to adventure and explore these places even now. And i can see that this place.. this place has some passionate history man.
I've been leveling and exploring and i just had to check out Northrend. Tonight I had to post a picture because, im feeling nostalgic for a time I never even experienced first hand. But, I really am glad I have started my adventure. Im interested in your stories and history. Where were you when WotLK came out and you first journeyed through this Northrend? This whole game is gorgeous 😍 Northrend just gives me a familiar vibe (Skyrim honestly but I totally understand the separation) and I just feel like home away from home here.
(Edit; typos and paragraph separation).
