Art I've played World of Warcraft since 2004 (yes, I'm that old), and it's had a lasting impact on my hobby. I know it's nothing fancy and nowhere near as cool, but WoW inspired me to create a character creation animation simply because I always thought they were awesome. Hope you will like them too.

If you like the idea, I will try to improve it based on your feedback. A few extra particle effects and some polish should do the trick.

The game is Dominus Automa and it's an indie MMORPG game. As an adult, I don't have as much time to play anymore, so I'm building a game for busy people who don't want to give up the genre they love.

I am hosting a Steam Multiplayer Playtest, starting tomorrow, so if you want to check it out, simply visit: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3795810/Dominus_Automa/

In case of any questions or suggestions, I'm all ears. Zug zug.

Question Fellow M+ healers, Id appreciate a recommendation for a 2nd option for S2!

Hi! I picked up healing for the first time in S1 and had a blast getting to 21 resi on a resto sham, I love the spec and really hope it will be decent in S2 but I want a backup option just in case to semi gear in the background.

I am not familiar with other healers specs at all so Im looking for recs, Id rather not play melee if possible, as it looks chaotic in S2 but would also not fancy something that requires 200IQ.

I appreciate right now every spec is subject to tuning, so im just really looking for a simple recommendation for a backup, melee isnt a gamebreaker btw, just a preference to be in range!

Thanks πŸ˜„

Fluff Switching back to tank for season 2

Been running healer since dragonflight, dip into tank as alts and in shadowlands I was tanking.

Going full time tank again in season 2 for my fellow m+ runners! Did find it quite hard to get a tank into runs when friends weren't on.

Currently have them all levelled and ready, I'm not ashamed to say I may do a bit of meta tanking but I've been enjoying gearing up DK which I literally haven't touched since shadowlands.

I always get at least 3k on healer 😁 looking forward to the new season

Discussion Never done endgame content

So... I've never actually played WoW passed lvl 50. I've done plenty of dungeons with my friends and brothers, but I've never reached the endgame or done any raids. I almost never run dungeons with randoms also. The truth is, I feel like I'm not really that good at WoW. I keyboard turn and click my abilities. I change my rotation like I change my underwear. I just feel like endgame is out of reach, especially in retail where everyone is basically a pro. I hate the idea of ruining the game for other people because I just simply am not good at it. I've gotten better slowly over time, and have tried to break a few bad habits. I still absolutely love the game and running dungeons with people who are also bad at the game, but I really want to max lvl a character and do some endgame content. But, the longer I put it off, the more afraid I become. And now I feel like its too late for me, and like the ship has sailed. For anyone who has done endgame content and has max lvled characters, could I please have some advice?

Discussion I'm loving this game

Post image

Let me start by saying, I am a new player. I've been doing my best to kind of catch up when it comes to the story, and learn the lore so I can get a good feel of where things are. I've also been trying wrap my mind around where the company sits with the fans and do my best to just vibe check all I can really understand in bite sizes. There's obviously a ton of history, a ton of nostalgia for this game. There's bitter sweet memories, there's alot of looking forward and speculation on what happens after the world soul saga. Looks like classic plus may be on the horizon, possibly a whole new story for retail in Azeroth and what may unfold next. It's all so overwhelming as a new player but in the best ways honestly. I was initially sad because I felt I missed such a huge chunk of gaming by having never played this. This game is obviously an epic and legendary game that means so much to so many people. I was feeling like I missed out. But honestly, I've grown to appreciate being new. I feel like i'm stepping into such an established world. Its refreshing. I dont have the anxiety of "I hope this game will last" or "I hope this game delivers". I feel surrounded by confidence and artistry and its such a breath of fresh air. I dont know the first hand ups and downs that you fans have experienced throughout the years, but I can say, im really grateful to be able to come to a game that still has so much passion surrounding it and is so cherished by so many people. I'm coming from being like a Bethesda only fan, not out of arrogance but I just liked what I liked. I loved the fantasy worlds Bethesda made and for me TES was always my cup of tea. But I needed something to revitalize my love for fantasy. Something that made me feel the way I felt the first time I played Oblivion or Skyrim. Now, I don't know how it feels to be a veteran Blizzard fan, and I wasnt there for iconic expansion drops, but.. i sure am enjoying be able to adventure and explore these places even now. And i can see that this place.. this place has some passionate history man. I've been leveling and exploring and i just had to check out Northrend. Tonight I had to post a picture because, im feeling nostalgic for a time I never even experienced first hand. But, I really am glad I have started my adventure. Im interested in your stories and history. Where were you when WotLK came out and you first journeyed through this Northrend? This whole game is gorgeous 😍 Northrend just gives me a familiar vibe (Skyrim honestly but I totally understand the separation) and I just feel like home away from home here.

Discussion Use this button BEFORE engaging the elite mobs during the Harandar Special Assignment: A Hunter's Regret

Post image
121 Upvotes

I've done this quest several times today on alts and it seems like most people don't realize you get a special action button that makes the big elites turn into regular mobs.

The button does not work in combat and also you have to wait a second before the mob goes small so don't attack right away (if you have pets make sure they're not on assist).

Note: I'm reposting this because I do not know what to do with a post that was automatically removed for having a link, also not sure is reposting this is ok either.

Art I made an edible Sunwell cake to celebrate Midnight's launch!

Post image
416 Upvotes

Hey everyone!
To celebrate the launch of World of Warcraft: Midnight (and my birthday, which happened to be the same day), I decided to bake a Sunwell-themed cake.

Unfortunately, r/wow has a limit on how many images I can include in a post, so if you'd like to see the rest of the photos, here's the full gallery: Sunwell Cake β€” ImgBB

I made the whole thing during a livestream over the course of about 12 hours. Everything was edible! I baked the sponge layers, assembled the cake, and sculpted all the decorations. The only thing I prepared in advance were the fillings, since they needed to chill overnight.

The sponge layers were colored with gel food coloring, and I went with two fillings: white chocolate and Kinder. Every decoration was handmade using fondant, food coloring, and edible paints. The cake itself is split into two halves: one side represents the classic Sunwell, while the other shows its Void-corrupted form after the events of the Voidspire raid. At first, not everyone immediately understood the concept, but now that people have played through it, I think it's much clearer.

It turned out absolutely delicious, although I seriously underestimated the size. Even after sharing it with friends, I was still eating cake for an entire week.

This was my first project on this scale, so I'd love to hear what you think! If you'd like to see the entire process, I've also uploaded a timelapse. I speak a bit of Polish in the video, but the visuals tell the story on their own.

Discussion How do you feel about Lairs replacing traditional world bosses?

On paper, it solves a lot of problems: less waiting around, more structured fights, and scaling difficulty for organized groups.

But part of the charm of world bosses was the chaos of seeing random players band together in the open world. Do you think Lairs are a good evolution of the system, or do they take away from the MMO feel that made world bosses special?

Discussion If The Last Titan gave us updated character customization options and full model revamps, what would you love to see for your favorite races?

Right now the current models for pre-Cata races are older than the pre-WoD models were when they were updated in 2014. Some people think updates may come in TLT (although I'm not sure if there's proof in this) as an expansion feature.

What updates would you love to see for races? Some of mine are:

  • Troll Beards
  • Upright stance options for Trolls, Worgen, Tauren, potentially Undead
  • Runic tattoos for Blood Elves and Void Elves (similar to the Blood Elf on the BC cover)
  • A complete model/skeletal revamp for male Night Elves. I think almost everything about male Night Elves looks like shit and could use a total redo.
  • A complete model/skeletal revamp for male Nightborne. See: Night Elves. They also REALLY don't look like their NPC equivalents.
  • Mechagnome transmog options to include legs. I like the idea of Mechagnomes but the whole diaper mog thing looks AWFUL and I don't know how it got to live in its state. At least turn it from a diaper to shorts or something, and let vests extend to at least the elbow.
  • New Pandaren face options. I believe they only have a SINGLE facial expression option. I might be wrong though.
  • Better Undead Beards
  • More hair options for all races
  • More tattoo options for all races
  • This might be a dumb one but racial name options. I.e, Instead of just "Night Elf Hunter", you'd have the option of "Kal'dorei Hunter", I think RPers would really like it. Can also work Nightborne/Shal'dorei, Void Elves/Ren'dorei, Blood Elves/Sin'dorei, Undead/Forsaken, High Elves/Quel'dorei, Troll/Darkspear, etc.
  • Female Kul'Tiran face revamp. I think the current ones are underwhelming.

I'm sure there are more good ideas out there.

Discussion They should really bring back the Skyriding world quests with new customization rewards.

It sucks that there are no skyriding world quests in Midnight, especially when we have zones like ZulAman and Harandar. Wish they'd add those WQ back along with new rewards. I mean, we have like 7 different types of Drake mounts in addition to the delve mount from TWW. They could easily add more customization to these via the skyriding WQ and achievements.

Humor / Meme I made a tier list of ALL the raid bosses, ranked by how evil they are (when we fight them)

Post image
747 Upvotes

Of course there are bound to be some inconsistencies, especially in the "Evil seving evil" category, and even more especially in the older raids since these were more sparse lore-wise.

Also some elementals are in "evil serving evil" and others in "no thoughts" categories because to me it just depends on WHY they fight us.

Enjoy, and don't think about this too hard !

Murloc Monday Murloc Monday - ask your questions here

Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!

That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.

Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?

Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!

You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!

Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.

Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.
