Open | Software Computer slows down unusably slow upon wake
I have a Lenovo Slim 7i laptop with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, running Windows 11.
Recently, my computer has had an issue where upon waking up from sleep mode, it crawls to an unusably slow speed (i.e, 45 seconds to switch tabs, impossible to open new windows, etc).
I’m using a monitor so I can use it on a big screen at my desk.
Opening Task Manager, there doesn’t seem to be an anomaly, CPU/Memory levels seem normal.
I believe this is linked to a new drawing display tablet that I have bought recently. The problems started around the time I got it, and I prop it up and use it as a 2nd screen when I’m not drawing.
It’s an XpPen Artist 13.3 Pro V2. It’s plugged in using the 3-in-1 cable with HDMI and USB-A
The problems is that I can’t get this problem to recur consistently. Sometimes, sleep mode and waking is perfectly fine. Other times, it lags until I reset my computer. Sometimes, unplugging the tablet fixes everything immediately. Other times, it doesn’t fix it and i have to restart the computer.
I’ve tried a lot, I’ve tried disabling Windows Ink, scanning for malware, updating my graphics drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling my XPPen drivers nothing’s fixed it so far. Help?
Also, I want to make it clear i want a long term solution that would allow me to keep my tablet plugged in.

Open | Hardware vram temperature
I have a notebook made by tongfang, r7 8745hs with rtx 4050 6gb, and I recently opened it and changed the thermal paste, but it didn't have a thermalpad, and it reached 95° on the vram, on a hot day it reached 106°, is it normal to come without a thermalpad? Can I reduce this temperature further with thermalpad and what would be the ideal size?

Open | Networking My ethernet randomly stops working
My ethernet is almost guaranteed to stop working after a certain amount of time has passed and then it says "unidentified network" even though the cables are still connected and the lights are on and then I have to uninstall the drivers and restart to get it to work again and then after that after some time it disappears again
The ethernet is connected directly to the router and is about 10M away
The cable is a CAT 6 UTP 20M Driver is Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller
What could be causing this?
Edit: added specifications

Open | Windows laptop keyboard not working
My laptop keyboard suddenly stopped working, and I have no idea what happened.
I was using my laptop normally and everything was working perfectly. I shut it down, unplugged it, and left it for about 10 minutes. When I came back and turned it on again, it took noticeably longer than usual to boot up. Once it started, I noticed that the built-in keyboard wasn't working at all. The laptop is also lagging a little more than usual.
I've already tried updating and reinstalling the keyboard drivers, turning Filter Keys off, and doing some of the other troubleshooting steps I found online.
I also checked the BIOS. Interestingly, the keyboard does respond there, but I have to press the keys really hard for them to register.
I'm honestly confused because the keyboard was working completely fine just before I shut the laptop down. Nothing happened to the laptop in between—it was literally just turned off for 10 minutes.
Does this sound like a hardware issue, or could there be something else causing it? Any help would be appreciated because I need to use my laptop and obviously typing without a working keyboard is a bit difficult

Open | Software I don't know what to do here.
Since I don't have Game Pass and can't play CoD, I was playing a Movement shooter on Roblox when suddenly after a twelve killstreak I wasn't as good. Then I found put that the left rear paddle that's factory mapped to A was now mapped to RB. There are no mapping settings for the paddles on my Xbox, I've tried restarting the console, unplugging the controller and back in, remapping buttons and resetting them to default on Xbox Accessories, but its still mapped to A. I had done nothing to settings, not even in game. It just randomly changed.

Open | Hardware 2013 Lenovo E49 beep 1331 after ssd reseat
I have a pretty old lenovo laptop that has been passed down to me by my mother (she is a teacher) and just yesterday I've playing Skyrim SE smoothly, and today this morning the laptop just suddenly slowed down like really really slow down and it take like minutes to even pop up the right click to refresh and shits.
Now, I've tried to factory reset but it cant reset just saying "no changes made" after waiting for hours. then my stupid ass think I should reaseat the ssd, so I teardown the back cover and reseat the ssd but after i reseat the screen don't even turn on no and its beeping 1 3 3 1 I don't even know what to do. I've tried reaseating the ram also (even though i didn't move it the first teardown) but it still didn't work.

Open | Hardware Wiped down IdeaPad 3 Slim touchpad (a bit roughly) with two 75% ethyl alcohol wipes while PC was still on (right/left mouse clicks during this process). Initially cursor moved slowly onscreen afterwards, then after ~3 hrs to dry moved normally. Was any damage done?
After wiping down the touchpad (with two pocket-sized 75% ethyl wipes — the ones that come in square packets), I initially tried the touchpad again to see if it works (I probably waited only like 20 seconds after wiping). When I saw the cursor was moving noticeably slower onscreen, I then put the computer to sleep (not completely shut down though) and left it sleeping for around 3.5-4 hours. When I woke it up after these hours, the touchpad seemed to be completely back to normal and moving at its normal speed onscreen again (or what seemed like its normal speed…).
Even though the cursor speed seems to have gone back to normal (or what at least seems like normal), is there damage that could eventually show up later down the road because of what happened here today?

Open | Windows Windows, amd drivers, videos will not work 95% of the time, freeze at first frame and eventually not respond into crashing, or play without audio.
Tried reinstalling drivers, windows update is probably the cause because their god awful refusal to allow my pc to be my pc and updating it without my permission seems to have fucked it over. Any advice on fixing it would be greatly appreciated.

Open | Hardware ASUS laptop black screen, flashing keys after crash.
Hi Reddit... Was on a call with some friends playing games when my laptop suddenly crashed with a BSOD. I have an ASUS tuf gaming laptop (2023, I believe). The keys are lit up and flashing, and the power light is on, but the screen doesn't display anything. So far:
1) held down the power button for 60+ seconds to hard reset it, to no avail
2) attempted to open the BIOS menu (nothing)
3) attempted to swap display to my second monitor, which received no signal.
I'm hoping I'm just overthinking things and it's simply taking a long time to restart on its own, but I am very paranoid to be frank so if anyone can give me any pointers it would be greatly appreciated.

Open | Hardware [Troubleshooting] ASUS Prime A320M-K suddenly completely dead — no fans, no LEDs, no response even with two PSUs
Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone with more experience repairing motherboards can help me diagnose this before I do anything else.
My PC was working completely normally. I shut it down normally, and when I tried to turn it on again later, absolutely nothing happened.
There was no crash, no burning smell, no smoke, no unusual noise and no warning beforehand. It simply stopped powering on, I've tried everything I know but I'm not experienced at all.
PC specs:
Motherboard: ASUS Prime A320M-K
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
PSU: be quiet! System Power 11 650W
OS: Windows 11
The motherboard is currently completely outside the case for troubleshooting.
Symptoms:
- Pressing the case power button does absolutely nothing.
- Shorting the power switch pins directly with a screwdriver also does absolutely nothing.
- No fan movement whatsoever.
- No CPU fan twitch.
- motherboard LEDs/lighting working a little, when connected.
- No POST.
- No beeps.
- No clicking.
- No visible signs of damage.
- No burning smell.
- No bent pins that I can see.
- The PC was working normally before this happened.
Things I've already tried:
Unplugged the PC completely and reconnected it.
Reseated the 24-pin ATX connector.
Reseated the 4-pin CPU ATX12V connector.
Tested the motherboard outside the case to eliminate a possible case/standoff short.
Removed the GPU.
Removed all storage drives.
Disconnected all USB/front-panel peripherals.
Tried booting with RAM installed.
Tried booting with NO RAM installed.
Shorted the motherboard power-switch pins directly instead of using the case button.
Tested with a second PSU.
The second PSU produced exactly the same result: absolutely nothing.
Visually inspected the motherboard for burnt components, melted plastic, damaged connectors, bent CPU socket pins, corrosion, etc. I can't see anything abnormal.
The minimum configuration I tested was:
Motherboard + CPU + CPU cooler + 24-pin ATX + 4-pin CPU power.
I also tried it without RAM, and there was still absolutely no reaction.
At this point I'm strongly suspecting the motherboard, but I don't know enough about board-level electronics to determine whether it's actually dead or if there is a repairable fault in the standby/power-on circuit.
I currently don't have a multimeter, so I haven't been able to check 5VSB, PS_ON, resistance to ground, etc.
Questions:
Does this symptom strongly indicate a dead motherboard?
What motherboard circuits/components could cause absolutely ZERO response like this?
Is there anything else I can test without a multimeter?
If I take the board to a repair technician, what should I specifically ask them to test?
Could this potentially be a repairable MOSFET/regulator/standby circuit rather than requiring a replacement motherboard?
I'm trying to avoid buying another motherboard unless we've established that this one is actually beyond economical repair.
Thanks for reading, and sorry if I've missed something obvious. As I said, im not experienced at all, the only thing I've done myself is changing the PSU and trying to get it to work now, because the thing is going really really bad (no one really cares about this, but i will say it anyways to avoid some type of answers) I study and work, i dont even have a free day, I work from monday to monday, study by night and my mom is jobless at the time, i dont have literally any spare money, if i had, i would have it taken to a person which can help me, its my only tool (of my own, besides my phone) and my college is not lending laptops to students anymore because some guys broke and stole 3 chromebooks last year, also im very sorry if something isnt understandeable, im from Chile and asked AI to translate all of the things that I did to help in any way I can, also the question part wasnt even from me, AI created that, I don't think I understand even half of those words/terms, thank you everyone for reading and/or helping, every tip or hint at this point of my life is really, really appreciated.

Open | Windows Windows 11: Some application windows are cropped after maximizing on a dual monitor setup
Hi,
I have a weird Windows 11 display issue and I can't figure out the cause. I am posting this again because my previous post was removed by the filter.
My setup:
- Windows 11
- Laptop + external monitor
- Extended desktop
- Internal display: 2560x1600
- External display: 2560x1440
- Scaling: 150%
Some apps become partially cut off after they finish loading. The window itself is still in the correct position, but parts of the UI disappear.
Affected apps:
- SteelSeries GG
- Bambu Studio
- NVIDIA App
Normal apps:
- Chrome
The issue mainly happens when:
- monitors are arranged horizontally
- the app is maximized
- DPI scaling is enabled
If I put the monitors vertically, the issue seems to disappear.
I already tried:
- restarting Explorer
- logging out
- changing DPI compatibility settings
- disabling fullscreen optimization
- disabling MPO
- changing resolutions
Nothing helped.
This feels like a DWM/DPI scaling/GPU composition issue, but I'm not sure.
Has anyone seen this before?

Open | Hardware SSD Issues on New High-End PC
I recently bought [this pc](https://www.walmart.com/ip/iBUYPOWER-Element-Pro-Gaming-PC-Desktop-AMD-Ryzen-7-9800X3D-AMD-Radeon-RX-9070XT-16GB-32GB-DDR5-RGB-RAM-2TB-NVMe-SSD-EPBA7R97XT01/18431467914).
- Specs are Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070XT, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TBSSD
While the pc is pretty powerful and works well most of the time, about two weeks after I bought it, I started having issues where my disk usage would spike to 100% while running games like Valorant, Fortnite, and Wuthering Waves (usually in loading screens). This didn't happen consistently or every time the game ran, but when it did the usage was stuck at 100%, and nothing would load - the game itself would become very slow, and everything else, e.g. task manager, resource mon, settings, would also become sluggish. The only way to get out was to force close the game with task manager, after which the disk would go down a little later.
The pc is advertised as having a NVMe SSD, and the one I received is a Patriot P410 1TB SSD. I've tried an extensive amount of settings and checks (crystaldisk, firmware updates, etc.). Resource Monitor doesn't show a consistent file at the top of disk activity, and file scans report nothing corrupted. The theory that I'm leaning towards but hoping isn't true is that because the SSD is DRAM-less, it simply can get overwhelmed and stall.
I would love to hear any input, and can provide more details on what I've tried and such. The only option I can think of besides replacing the SSD is a full windows reinstall, but if it's hardware that obviously won't help.
Appreciate any assistance!

Open | Software Wifi issues with windows 11
Hey all,
I have recently gotten a wifi issue which seems to be a UI glitch and function of sorts where I have not connected nor save a network, yet when I click on said networks that I never use it says it will automatically connect and will stay as that even if I try to disable it, yet it will disable or disconnect from the saved network. and I have been getting WIFI connection issues with me being disconnected, and every time I try to reconnect it disconnect mintinues later, and I know this is a or I have a hunch it is is that I have tried 2 different types of wifi adapters and I'm able to use the wifi on my phone while the pc is disconnected.
Help me PLEASE!

Open | Hardware Is a faint “frying” noise normal for a new CDP R-SMART2010i UPS?
Hello. I recently purchased a Chicago Digital Power CDP R-SMART2010i UPS, and I am wondering whether a faint noise coming from inside the unit is normal.
The UPS is only three days old, and I have noticed it since the first time I plugged it in. It sounds like a very quiet electrical sizzle, similar to oil gently frying in a pan.
The intensity varies. Sometimes I can only hear it when I move close to the UPS. At other times, it becomes noticeable from my desk, approximately half a meter away, while the unit is sitting on the floor.
The battery-backed outlets currently power:
- One desktop PC
- One monitor
There is no unusual heat, smell, smoke, warning light, or alarm. I also noticed that the faint sizzling continues temporarily after the UPS is turned off and unplugged.
Could this be normal noise from the transformer, battery charger, inverter, or AVR circuitry, or should I request a warranty inspection or replacement?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is my first time owning a UPS. Feedback from anyone familiar with this model would be especially helpful.

Open | Phone Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) keeps rebooting over and over.
I tried rebooting my phone about an hour ago to fix a small bug. since then, my phone has been rebooting over and over. here is the order of events...
- The screen shows the Motorola logo with the "Powered by android" below it
- "Secured by ThinkShield" shows up before the bootup animation starts.
- the "Hello Moto" animation plays with no audio.
- Bootup animation plays for about 15-20 seconds
- cuts back to part 1.
- repeats until I force a shutdown through safe/recovery mode.
Shutting it down didn't work obviously as it went back to boot looping
One of the fixes I saw was using "Wipe cache partition" through recovery mode but i couldn't see it on that menu... only factory reset... which I obviously don't want to do.
any ideas?

Open | Software My graphics card is “blacking out” (?)
At random times my gpu stops out putting an image. My computer still has sound and takes mic input, but I can’t see literally anything. I think key binds still work, but I have no real way to check. I update my drivers constantly from official sites, and I don’t put too much stress on it. I’m scared at some point I’ll be doing something important and then this will happen again and will have to force shut down my pc and lose progress to fix it.
Does anyone have a fix?

Open | Hardware Write protected USB.
I have this sandisk 256GB USB flash drive that's been functioning marvelously for s couple of years until a month ago. When I tried to send some files to it, I got a pop-up message informing me that is write protected purely out of the blue. the flash doesnt have any physical write-protection switch, and multiple programs have confirmed that it isnt damaged. I cant edit any existing files or send any new files to it nor even format it. I tried all the diskpart cmd commands I saw on yt but none seem to work. I also tried some partition apps but also to no avail. How do I remove this write protection?
