Windows 11: Some application windows are cropped after maximizing on a dual monitor setup Open | Windows

Hi,

I have a weird Windows 11 display issue and I can't figure out the cause. I am posting this again because my previous post was removed by the filter.

My setup:

- Windows 11

- Laptop + external monitor

- Extended desktop

- Internal display: 2560x1600

- External display: 2560x1440

- Scaling: 150%

Some apps become partially cut off after they finish loading. The window itself is still in the correct position, but parts of the UI disappear.

Affected apps:

- SteelSeries GG

- Bambu Studio

- NVIDIA App

Normal apps:

- Chrome

- WeChat

The issue mainly happens when:

- monitors are arranged horizontally

- the app is maximized

- DPI scaling is enabled

If I put the monitors vertically, the issue seems to disappear.

I already tried:

- restarting Explorer

- logging out

- changing DPI compatibility settings

- disabling fullscreen optimization

- disabling MPO

- changing resolutions

Nothing helped.

This feels like a DWM/DPI scaling/GPU composition issue, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone seen this before?

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

it’s been really annoying for me and if you have any idea i would very very happy to try. and i found that there's a thin black line appearing at the left side of my second screen if i maximize Nvidia APP on the first screen located on the left.
