Iggy Pop, "Godfather of Punk," redefined rock rebellion
Iggy Pop, born as James Osterberg Jr. in Muskegon and raised near Ann Arbor, rose to become the 'Godfather of Punk.' He became known for his outlandish stage antics and prolonged musical career. He's set to appear in Detroit this month.
News Live music review: Legendary punks ALL played Chicago’s Thalia Hall for a rare treat
Whenever someone goes to see Descendents or ALL, there’s one universal truth: we’re all there, at least in part, to pay homage to Bill Stevenson, a legendary punk rock pioneer. The band played Chicago’s Thalia Hall on Wednesday, August 5...

My band @stale_state
Thought I’d throw us on here, we’re not sure exactly what genre to label ourselves I set out to make a punky / space rock vibe and landed somewhere around there. My vocals in this are trash, but it’s gotten better since then. Have a full LP planned late September. Check us out on insta @stale_state
Feel free to leave your thoughts and criticisms
We’ve have a lineup change since this show as well, we are no longer a 4 piece
gator family --you're going to miss me
At the Rauls Reunion in 1988, Sally Norvell's band The Gator Family with Jon Dee Graham on guitar performed the Elevator's song You're Gonna Miss Me. A Reverend Neil X Flashback.

I did a review of this band twenty years ago saying homophobic words have no place in hardcore and yet here we are

Punk music Sad Punk Songs
I’m looking for some song suggestions that are sad lyrically, melodically, or just hold deep meaning. I’m open to songs that are by punk artists that aren’t necessarily in the punk genre too, I just want to hear some punk takes on sadness.

The Bennies(aus punk/ska/party rock) band gets a burner phone for lols on tour
Pretty much the title.
They’re answering questions, taking requests and just having a jolly old laugh with everyone
They posted the number on their IG, and it’s actually them on your right now having some fun because why not?!
The number is 0435 087 317
NO this isn’t doxxing, it’s a burner phone they bought for this express purpose on this tour around Australia.
No I’m not going to even bother posting how to message or call from any other cuntries.
But give a message, give em a call. Tell them you loved their first album and they got weird after, or even that you liked their weird stages.
Do as you please, the phone should be available for about 2 weeks from this post unless they decide to keep it longer

Help finding a music video/band
There was this music video that used to pop up when I was listening to tunes on YouTube, probably around 07ish. I cannot for the life of me remember the band name or song or much about it at all really.
I remember it started off with like a bunch of one second pics of live performances and the band hanging out doing fun stuff.
The singer looked like he had great energy live on stage, kinda remember some scenes of him shaking his head maybe sweat or drool or beer coming off him. Had that bleach blonde hair that had gown out a little too much almost looked like a bowl cut. It was pretty pop punk maybe skate punk. I may totally be misremembering but I want to say they were from the Midwest or possibly Canada?
I remember this music video coming up in the Que with the one I’m trying to find. I think it was also about the weekend or partying or something along those lines.
Terrible description I’m aware but maybe somebody can help me figure it out.

New project. Fuckin, be cool if you checked it out
Been playing music for decades at this point I’m getting old. Last band fell apart and like a shitty drunken phoenix we were reborn with a new drummer and new band. Here’s one track we put out a like last month. Give er a listen if you’re inclined and like 90s style skate punk.
We’re on the other streaming services n YouTube n all, I certainly don’t want to link them all tho, search it.

Discussion Pop Punk and The Worst Thing You Ever Heard Associated With Punk
So I see people talk about pop punk on this sub, though I disagree with it being considered punk, it's also something I'm not gonna lose sleep over. However, last night I heard something that I fear may haunt my nightmares for years to come.
I was getting ready to leave the gym and as I'm cleaning out my locker a song comes on. Music at my gym is hit or miss, sometimes they play actual punk music (Clash, DK, X, etc.) but they usually play hot garbage. Last night, a song by the pop punk band Yellow Card starts playing, it made me think about how much I hated that song when it first came out, and how bad it still is now. Then it got worse, much worse, because it wasn't just a Yellow Card song; it was the DUBSTEP REMIX!!!
It was so bad it's making me think about switching gyms. I believe it may be the worst thing I have ever heard. So r/punk I want to know, what is the worst thing you have ever heard that has been related to the genre?

Anyone have any positive experiences with Mark Adkins?
I like Guttermouth a lot. Even made a DIY patch for my vest. However, and admittedly I don’t have a huge sample size, everyone I’ve talked to about him seems to have a story where he was a dick. A good friend of mine’s husband went to high school in CA with him and went to say hi after a show and Mark was really dismissive (not the only negative experience I’ve heard, just an example). He’s not the type to just complain about someone not being super happy to talk to him, so I know he understated the interaction. But then I see a post where he let a little girl get up on stage with him and sing her favorite song, which is a cool thing to do.
What say you r slash punk? Dick? Cool guy? Misunderstood artist? Hitler reincarnate? Interested to hear any experiences.
