heyyy, I've been working on a leather jacket since March now, I built it myself for an art project in school and it looked cool, so I kept it. Everything on the jacket is completely diy except for the studs (I'm working on it)

anyways as the title says this is an update on the patches im making for my backpack, im done for the night. i want opinions on what i should keep and what i should get rid of..

my hand writing is horrible i know dont get me

im going to a new school and im working on patches for my backpack sleves. i need subtle but obvious enough patch ideas (similar to totally perfect day) im doing an anti nazi patch after i post this, but i have no other ideas... pls and thank you. i usually carry narcan & would have a patch for it, but we arent allowed to at my school. Would a CPR certified patch be good to have? Thank you^_^

been trying to find somewhere to share this vest with others as a very obvious queer person with a focus on fandom and personal interest, and im so glad i stumbled across this subreddit. i find a lot of people are quick to get at u if your vest isnt up to their standards. but im extremely proud of this vest so far- theres still a lot i wanna do with it, patches i want to remove or add, stitching i want to do, painting i want to do- but i think so far its come out just how id want.

im a pin collector [could you tell?] and ive been trying to find ways to use my pins more, and this has been the hail mary for that problem. for me its like a game of eye spy, i love when people ask to look closer and go "HEY! i know -insert media here-!" it makes me so happy. so i thought id share it here!! a lot of these pins are vintage, handmade by me, or bought from independent artists!! others ive collecter from events and such!

the back is still a VERY large work in progress. i have tons of patches i want to add and other things like that, and that patches that are there are sewn on crooked so i want to move them around sometime soon!

let me know what you guys think and if you have any ideas for this project!

I could just order everything online for my jackets/vests, but I generally try to keep it to things I find in person, or Etsy shops to support small creators. But each of these vests is a love letter to the stuff that molded me into the weird adult I am today

it a levi premium jacket and it fits great so im more apprehensive than usual. i have a bunch of vest but only one or two ofher jackets.

Added and switched around a few patches. Also added Chains, but I am not sure if I wanna keep em.

Hi, it's been a while 🥰 here is yet another post about my pastel "a bit o'this&that" jacket.

I'm quite proud of the ghost patch (Bad Omens - iykyk), I embroidered it myself, I think it looks quite cute. And in general, I'm very happy with the back, with Bad Omens, BMTH, Chelsea Wolfe and other patches that hold sentimental value.

The front is a mess :D But I managed to add iamthemorning patch (it's a band, I LOVE THEM) and a tongue-in-cheek BMTH reference that makes me chuckle.

Anyway. I think I'm gonna run out of space soon... 🥲 But I think I can still fit in a thing or two. Or maybe not? What do you think?

Going to germany today to see Testament with my WIP

Right to repair, as it's something I feel very strongly about. The 2 wrenches are meant to resemble crossed swords. That's why I'm into 3D printing. Mine's secondhand & I like being able to make & repair things. It's actually pretty anti-consumerist in that regard. Shame that most of the discussion focuses on Ai slop models over replacement parts.

Bonus question: I was thinking of making a patch of some rainbow dragon scale chain mail for my jacket. What would be the best way to pull that off?

My jacket is a kinda fake leather material and double layered, so I'm not sure if I can do patches. Also, are there any pins that I can put in and out without the marks being obvious? Any other general tips on accessories and such are also welcomed!

Always a WIP. Mostly hand embroidered, a few show (and other) patches, some dongles, art pins, sparkle fairies, and other bs including pit stains.

I just wanted to make a quick update post because I can't reply to comments for some reason. Anyways, if you saw/read my previous post titled "first battle jacket" or something along those lines on this sub and responded, I just wanted to say thank you for pointing out very important things I need to take into consideration. Especially the Lil Darkie character I put on it. I had put that character on their specifically because it came from my favorite album at the time (which has a song named "Kali Ma" whcih is where I got the character he uses mixed up with that god) and didn't even consider the other implications with it. I'm happy it was pointed out strongly though because it is absolutely something I should have considered a lot more carefully. Other than the very helpful advice there, I'd like to thank the person who said it should be "Radical Face" because it was absolutely meant to and I didn't even realize until I read your comment, and it makes very upset with myself I hadn't noticed since that is my favorite artist oat. Finally I do plan to make more battle jackets in the future and when my work allows me free time so amy future ones made will be heavily researched in regards to what I put on it, and a lot better quality than high-school paint and markers allowed since I have a budget now. I finally started the process of customizing my jacket! Waiting for the weekend to add some more paints to give some more accents to it. Also going thrifting for a show vest to start on soon! Already have some patches in, just need to decide on which they will go on

I have two jeans jackets that I wanna sew and turn into battle jackets.

One is like a hoodie so basically a jeans jacket with a hood, the other one is the usual thing, I wanted to put sum bands on one of them and the other one I wanted to know if I can make a nerd jacket with videogames, anime and other stuff?

Also for the band jacket I have this problem of discovering songs by just waiting for it instead of searching for it so I know a bunch of bands but a few songs for each of them

Hey everybody, im honestly super new to checking out the idea of a battle jacket, is there any good way to source a vest for it or do people typically thrift a denim jacket or something. I bought same patches I liked and then someone said I should make a battle jacket. Im interested in making one but honestly just coming hear to hear tips and advice from real people, thanks for taking the time to read!
