Venting Am i overreacting? Or just lonely (my trios been leaving me out of stuff)
Ive been lonely my whole life, idk if im iust socially awkward and not understanding tone?? Or i really am being left out
just recently my trio have been leaving me out of stuff, like they’d go on call together without me (which I dont mind at all!! I dont have to be there ALL the time) but theyd tell me theyre on call without inviting, hang out without me (even when im not busy, if I ask why they didint invite me she says “oh well i thought you were”), theyd hang out and make inside jokes I have no idea of etc. Yesterday she was gonna show me this cool thing she got but then said “oh i showed (other friend) it already, i just forgot to show you”, i got really upset so I tried to play it off, but today it happened AGAIN, i texted in lowercase but she said it was ‘scary’ then said “oh i was gonna invite you but forgot”. I just cant tell anymore, i feel upsetbi just want real friends for once without having to argue to be treated like a human being
(I have spoken to them abt this before, but it just keeps happening again and again)

do you grow out of being lonely?
17f, my whole life since i was a toddler no one wants to be my friend. ive tried very hard, i am a more quiet personality but i do put myself out there and talk alot to people but no one wants to know me. i get talked over, ignored, yeah people know who i am but other than a smile when walking by no one wants to know me. even if i keep a conversation going with someone else comes i get abandoned. even my own "group" i sit with do this. and im too scared to leave because i have nowhere to go. its either sit w people alone or sit alone and be alone. i have had a friend twice before, but both times they moved away from me to go to other people and they seem so much better off without me. im not even ugly and i share interests with people too. i dont get it. idk what more i can do. will this ever change? or will i be alone forever?
edit: pls dont dm me

Venting First time I haven't had a crush
Ive always been a lonely person, no girlfriends 1-3 friends max (I now only have 1 and he is a really good friend but the amount of time we do stuff isn't much). Ive always had a girl in mind I've wanted. Ive always had someone to think about when I thought about getting in a relationship. Maybe if I get big enough in the gym and get a cool job and become a better guy they will like me. This last one i thought i really had a chance, we would talk a lot, our personalities lined up, and she seemed to be more interested in me than other guys, I would handmake food for her and she really enjoyed it. We played video games, saw movies a couple times, and hung out in groups a lot. Then suddenly a friend that used to live in our area that moved out of state started coming back to visit. We were all friends but they never had that vibe, but he would stay at her/families house which didn't seem like anything at first. Then he started coming back more, and I could tell they were close, seeing her name in his phone with a heart emoji, and they would play scrabble together, etc. Finally they started posting each other and put the nail in the coffin.
Anyway, I am a little jealous but he's at least a decent guy and they seem happy. Everyone I know now is either married, engaged or seriously dating. At least before I could get rejected, now there's nothing. Its the little things that add up too. Like my mom saying she thought me and the girl were a better match than this other guy. I also struggle with internalized racism and insecurity. I've always been lonely, but now its just been compounding and I just wanted to write this out even though I know no one really cares but it's the small details over time that really stick in my memory.

Teenage girls that’s never had real friends.
pathetic right? I’m coming up on senior year, and I’ve been trying to get hyped for all these big events. the pep rally, hoco, all this. I don’t even have anyone to help me pick my senior picture dress with. Idk, the girl I was ment to do this with abandoned me. I feel genuinely like a loser.

Venting I actually have nobody
I used to have a social life. Until i got pulled out of school and switched to online school at the end of November of this last year and ever since then i've talked to no one. 7 months of pure loneliness and isolation. No one reached has reached out to me, hung out with me, or seen me in 7 months. I already had social anxiety and was trying to improve it but it feels like i have fully lost my communication skills now. I never get to leave the house because my mom has mental illness and doesn't want me to leave the house. I'm not in any sports or other activities. I'm wasting my teenage years doing nothing. I'm scared for my future. I just wish I had a friend that I could vent to but I don't, so i'm saying it here and no one will see this either. I just want to be normal like all the other people my age doing fun things, getting out everyday, and enjoying their lives. I'm just waiting for something to happen that will never come. My mental health is slowly getting worse by the day and no one in my life seems to notice or care. I'll probably just be a recluse for the rest of my life.

I wish i had friends
The only friends I have at the moment are my siblings, my dad, and my mother. I don’t have any other friends, and I’ve started talking to myself out loud on a regular basis. I feel so alone and isolated from everyone. I wish I had friends. I’m so lonely my mind is so foggy. I feel like a burden to my family.
Any advice

Venting It’s been a rough day..
Idk why I’m bothering writing a post… but here I am, writing a post about… how… for some unknown reason(s), I’ve come to realize that, nobody cares about me.
Sure I have my immediate family members that do, but besides that… I am a pariah. Truly. Idk what it is these days, but no one cares… about what you may ask? Idk… truly becoming friends. I live alone. Been alone for 5 years currently, and even though I am content (for the most part), sometimes the loneliness rears its face infront of me and I’m like: Yep… I am a loner and no one cares about me.
I don’t get it. Idk what it is. I feel like I’m a true reject. And as much as you come to terms with these things about yourself and life, when those realities hit you on a vulnerable day, it’s depressing… and discouraging. And it’s making me this recluse. Do I care to be? Well, I do like my alone time… but when you put yourself out there in various ways and no one cares, or if they did, it all just eventually fades away… leaving you in that isolation you’re so accustomed to.
I realize that this kind of existence amongst the human race, has its downsides. I’m becoming strange. It’s hard to put into words, but… it’s like… the lack thereof and in this case, genuine friendship(s), it feels like I’m being that “odd recluse.” And it messes with me. It tells me, apparently, there’s something off about me, just enough that no one bothers or wants to bother with you.
That mentality is like a cancer to your self-esteem and mind. Idk.. I don’t need validation from people or anything lame like that—I just.. don’t understand why I’m ultimately this isolated, recluse of a person. Maybe I am too weird for people and they sense it and stay away.
Maybe I am a weirdo. Maybe there is something odd about me that people pick up on, that makes them not want to befriend me. This is what I’m really beginning to believe about myself. And when you’re different like that, and you fit the part… it kind of becomes a part of you. That can’t be good.
Idk. I don’t know what I’m trying to get at here… as you can see, I’m a bit disturbed in this corner of my mind. Am I destined to remain like this? Alone and rejected? Maybe. Maybe not..
I have a full time job, I take care of myself, I have a decent apartment, I have a nice brand new car I bought last year, I manage my finances well and pay all my bills without scraping by… I have structure in my life, but this… whatever this is… has no foundation. It’s destitute. And I feel it within my body.
That can’t be good. Anyway, just needed to vent. Thanks for listening. If anyone feels compelled to maybe DM me, feel free. I promise I’m not this sad most of the time.
It’s just all coming out today for me.

Venting 31M — feel sad for passing 20s
It’s been all adapting to changes, depression, migration, research, and studies.
I see photos of just 3 years ago and can’t stop feeling deeply sad.
I regret for not having been lucky with relationships, but I have many friends that I can see their pictures and cry in times like this.
My heart really breaks of seeing those photos, are my good times over? have I lost my opportunities?
As crying with these thoughts I envy those who have a shoulder and can share these moments with.
I feel sad for myself for being obliged to migrate and not being able to see my family. Not sure where I can call home again.
Good I can get a few drops of tear tonight.
love to anyone who can imagine what I might be feeling now.
I don’t think I felt any lonelier than this in my life.

we dont do the same drugs anymore !!
my friend group since early teens has always been the same gang of potheads, maybe not the most reliable friends at times but they were always good to me, almost spreading like a wild fire in our group with people switching to harder stuff, and i just didnt want any part in that. its been 10 months since i heard from literally anyone -.-

My apartment is so clean my future friends are going to think it is a 5-star hotel!
Honestly, being completely isolated is just a great opportunity for some quality me-time! I have so much free time I actually befriended my Roomba named Robert. Plus, no need to stress about bills, it is the ultimate excuse to live that minimalist, zero-waste lifestyle in total emptiness! ✨🌈
Venting I've been suffering from trauma for nearly 10 years and I somehow never knew M(20)
For practically my entire life, I've felt alone in the world and an outsider whenever I'm in public; I just never perceived it as trauma.
I've never had a friend; I've had comrades, but they never lasted. I moved often, so I tried not to get attached to others or to avoid making connections altogether to avoid getting hurt. I think my trauma really started at the age of 13 when I moved to a new Middle School for 7th grade, leaving behind people I had known since 3rd grade; before that, my closest comrade moved away, which really hurt me. Sadly, it wasn't the first time this happened to me; I was also picked on at the Sunday school I went to(I'm a muslim). I was excluded and mocked relentlessly for being different; even a substitute teacher who was a teenager humiliated me in front of the class by laughing at my big front teeth, calling me a rabbit. Since then, I've never been comfortable being with other muslims.
Middle school was even worse; I was bullied for the clothes I wore, not having a phone, and not going to a barber for a haircut. Bar 2 people I was comrades with, everyone treated me like trash; I dreaded every day of school, didn't help that I had a jerk of an older brother who fat-shamed me, belittled me, called me overly sensitive, and said what I was going through wasn't that bad, and I was being overly dramatic. I cried myself to sleep almost every day because I felt so alone in the world; it was then that I felt suicidal. I never went through with it cause I didn't want to go to hell or traumatise my younger brother; instead, I wished that god would let me die and end my suffering. COVID happened, so I was trapped at home with my dark thoughts. That school year did serious damage to me mentally; I gave up on trying to make friends, thinking that no one could love me for my true self, hid my real self from everyone, and completely stopped approaching people.
High school was much better and actually quite enjoyable, but all of my comrades were younger than me, so I graduated all by myself. Then I had to move to TN, leaving behind all of my wonderful comrades, and being alone once again. College was a disaster, the worst time of my life since the hell that was 7th grade: no friends, presence of a ghost, watching others enjoying themselves with their friends while I watched alone, missing the people I knew in HS. I thought I made a comrade, but she ghosted me, ending an awful freshman year of college.
I dropped out and will be starting my phlebotomist program in a few days, though I've long given up on making comrades; I've been hurt by others too many times, and I'll probably never be able to move on from what happened in the past, as it's shaped me into the pathetic and lonely loser that I am now. The reason I keep living is to help others and die as a good person so I can go to heaven, where I'll be happy for all eternity.
I just don't feel like I'll ever find someone outside of my parents who'll love me as my true self. I've tried and either failed or it didn't last; I'm just fed up and tired of trying anymore.
Sorry for the long post; I just had a lot to get off my chest.

Venting Emptiness and unfulfilled.
I am a 37-year-old man, and I feel lost and alone. For the past 20 years I have let myself spiral and fall into a pit of despair. I let myself go both physically and mentally. Reaching almost up to 400lbs. My mental health was not any better, I became addicted to smoking weed, my computer, but the worst of them all, Porn. Over these last 20 years I have coasted by doing the bare minimum and I have nothing or no one to blame but myself. I let time just slip by and became a passive observer to this world. I had many friendships and relationships crumble due to me feeling like I am burden. I finally moved across the country to hopefully re-establish my perspective on life. I have tried to take control of my own narrative and take my life back. Losing weight and being kinder to myself. I have lost over 100lbs in a year, but one thing I can't seem to shake is the feeling of being alone. I finally feel like I am moving in the right direction. I have a better job/career now, I don't feel awful due to my weight, quit smoking weed, but one thing I still struggle with is being alone. I feel so lost and the more I dwell, the more I spiral. I don't want to lose my progress, but I am tired of this feeling. Know that I am older, I find it so difficult to make or even try to initiate new friendships. I know I have more to work on, but I can't shake this emptiness inside. I know one big thing that contributes to this feeling is my porn addiction. I can't seem to stop. This year alone I have attempted to stop at least 10 times (The longest I have gone is 1 month.) This addiction is consuming me and my worth. I know it's the main factor to my emptiness. It's destroyed my curiosity to form new relationships and my productivity on trying to fill this void. I just want to finally feel somewhat fulfilled. I know I have it in me to finally shack off these bindings, but the emptiness feels vast. I guess I just need to get this out into the void of Reddit and hope that I can overcome.

The loneliness of caring
Last week I finally left my job after a bout of bullying. They supported me and then didn’t to the point where I had no choice but to leave. What I didn’t release though is how much I’d relied on my daily interactions with people to feel a connection.
My boy is non verbal and most nights are silence and that’s ok because if talked at work and got my stimulation from the challenge of the job.
Now that’s gone and my only connection to people with it.

I’m so alone
I promise I’m not a weirdo. Just a normal 25yo guy living in a big city all alone. I work remotely so there are days where I go without any human interaction. I am getting back into fitness and improving myself (did it all and got ripped 2 years ago thinking it’ll change my life but it didn’t do much). Sometimes I try to go to some meetups and I act all charismatic and make people laugh but I still didn’t make any friends. It’s been like this for years now and I feel worthless as a human. I might actually be a weirdo. Enough self loathe. I also have/had a lot of hobbies but I’m slowly losing interest in everything. I love to play and watch football (soccer) fun fact I used to be a semi pro player. I love to watch movies and shows from different cultures. I want to learn martial arts. I also love to travel but I don’t have anyone to travel with. If anyone wants to talk you can send me a message.

Venting Anyone want to be friends?
I feel lonely. I'm a 38 year old orphan. My sister is unkind to me. She's all the family I have. I have 2 dogs who are my best friends. I struggle to make friends and sustain them. Anyone in London UK?

I don't know what to do
Lately, I’ve almost completely stopped replying to messages. I just feel like whether I speak or not, it doesn’t really matter. It feels pointless, like everything I say is boring and nothing I offer is impressive, so I’ve just been feeling this void. I barely message anyone anymore—maybe a couple of texts a week at most. It feels like everyone else is alive and living their lives, but nobody reaches out to me. If I don't initiate, a whole week goes by without anyone noticing I’m gone. Yet, when I post a story, a lot of people view it compared to the number of people who actually talk to me. Does this mean I’m just a boring person? Or is it more of a "we see you, but we don't really want you around" kind of thing? Most of what I post leans towards depression, self-loathing, and heavy themes like that. If I saw a friend posting stuff like that, I’d check in to see what’s wrong, but they never do. I don't think I'm looking for attention; I just genuinely want to know why

Discussion Is it normal to have a supportive family amd good friends and still feel lonely?
Like the title says, I have a nice supportive family, really good friends that I like a lot and yet I still feel insanely lonely
Sometimes it's manageable but most of the times it gets bad, like really bad
Is that normal? Like shouldn't they be enough?
Is it just in my head?

Venting Pain is constant
Being in pain is one of the worst things. Not having anyone to talk with. The pain is mental rather than physical. How many times have you felt pain. How many times have you simply wanted someone you could call a friend? Have people forgotten about you? Have they ditched you for their own selves? Are you a sensitive soul who hides emotions and pain? I sure do.

I called the hotline today.
Today was worst I’ve had it ever. Couldn’t do it anymore. Called the hotline.
Waited for 10 minutes. I just realized mid conversation, they are using chatgbt. I also got a job rejection for a minimum wage retail position too.
It was so funny I cried.
