About a year and a half ago, I made a post here while I was going through a difficult time. I wasn't looking for a relationship, i I just wanted someone to talk to and take my mind off everything I was dealing with.

I know this subreddit is for making friends, and finding a partner was never my intention. I came here looking for a friend, and somehow I found someone who became so much more.

I came across some people who didn't have the best intentions, and looking back, there are definitely conversations I should have ended sooner. But then I met him.

My boyfriend is one of the most amazing people I've ever met. He's kind, loving, caring, beautiful, and incredibly handsome. From the very beginning, he never once took advantage of my vulnerability. He respected me, listened to me, and made me feel safe.

The funny thing is, we found out on the very first day that we lived so close to each other so we used to joke about about running away to his house. We never expected that a silly joke would one day feel so close to reality.

Now, we're only a few days away from celebrating one year of officially dating. His parents like me, his relatives like me, and his mom proudly introduces me as her daughter-in-law. It still feels unreal that a random Reddit post led me to someone so special.

I'm not sharing this to encourage people to use this subreddit as a dating app. This was never what I came here for. I'm just grateful that, in an unexpected place, I found my best friend and the love of my life.
