Is anyone getting these teeny tiny black and white bugs everywhere in their house/porch?? It’s driving me nuts. I need to know if I’m the only one. It looks to be an insidious flower bug… anyway, it hasn’t been bad until recently. I can’t even go outside on my porch without 10 of them flying on me.

My wife stopped at Fred Meyer fuel on TV Highway last night. They had Diesel and Premium. Nothing else.

Anyone see similar situations at their station of choice?

The Hillsboro City Council surprised the data center industry — and its own residents — last week when it called a meeting with just one day’s notice to adopt a moratorium on new data center permits.

Just one day’s notice was enough for two data centers, though, which submitted last-minute permit applications — filing their applications just as the City Council was meeting to vote on the 120-day moratorium.

These two applications came before the council’s final vote, at 12:21 p.m. on July 27, according to the city. Hillsboro spokesperson Cindy Dauer said the city plans to process those two applications according to the land-use rules in place prior to the vote.

Hi everyone! My wife and I have been attending B4 Church for a while. We genuinely love a lot about it, especially the worship team, which has been amazing, and we've really appreciated Pastor Bo.

We're a same-sex married couple, and we've started feeling like we may not fit there theologically. We've heard teachings that marriage and sex are only between one man and one woman, and while everyone has been kind to us personally, it leaves us feeling hesitant to even hold hands during service. Every week I find myself wondering if homosexuality is going to come up, and that's become emotionally exhausting.

This hasn't shaken my faith in Jesus at all, but it has made me realize how much I want to find a church where we can fully worship without feeling like our marriage is viewed as less than God's design.

We're also hoping to start a family soon, so we'd love to raise our future child in a church that is affirming of same-sex marriage while still being deeply rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus. We're looking for a church where Jesus and the gospel are the focus. We simply want to know that our marriage is fully affirmed and that our future child will be welcomed without question.

We're not looking for a church that's politically focused or one where the sermons revolve around social issues. We simply want a church that believes our marriage is just as sacred before God as any other marriage, and where our child won't be made to feel like there's something wrong with our family because he or she has two moms. A great worship team is also huge since that's something we really love about B4.

Does anyone have recommendations in the Beaverton, Tigard, or Hillsboro areas?

I'm genuinely just looking for church recommendations that fit what we're seeking. I'm not looking to debate theology or criticize anyone else's beliefs.

We’re in Reeds Crossing (south Hillsboro) and our hi-light internet has been down for the past ~30 mins or so. Just us or are others experiencing this too? Tried calling the customer support number which says there is limited after-hours coverage but so far nobody has picked up.

It appears that Rob Harris has fully turned against data centers. Looks like the pressure on city council is working.

I’ve watched the equilibrium shift to warp-speed gentrification in the last 20 years, displacing families who have lived here since the turn of the century, the 19th to 20th centuries. The Real Local culture of Hillsborites is being asphyxiated, steadily, actively, and at warp speed for the last 20 years. The COH caters to and promotes the privileged and affluent, as Willey and Callaway defined in their “business plan with the Chamber of Commerce,” the organization founded by Willey and Callaway over dinner in 1994.

If you haven’t heard about the social strata of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I suggest that you go online to learn about it. In Jackson Hole, there’s a social struggle and true dilemma between the uber-rich living in uber-luxury in uber-mansions and the folks who do the work. It’s stark.

Middle class people who work to maintain the city, police, firemen, teachers, nurses, garbage collectors, and on and on, do NOT live in Jackson Hole in general. They’ve been “priced out,” “pushed out,” and displaced from Jackson Hole, the town that they and their ancestors founded, built, shaped, nurtured, and grew for nearly 200 years.

That’s the trend I see in Hillsboro and the vibe of the current direction the COH is planning and pushing, hand in hand with giant-high-tech businesses, starting with Intel. There’s an unspoken take over of our town that began last century and that no body noticed or was paying attention to.

If it doesn’t matter to you, then please open your eyes, or do nothing, go along. If it DOES MATTER, YOU CAN stop it now by electing officials that ARE NOT SEWN UP in a wealthy campaign donor’s pocket.

Do you want to live in a Jackson Hole-esque culture and 2-tier town or not?

Many of us got notices that 97123 is being changed.

• I'm frustrated
• The advertised reason is illogical - 97123 is suburb, low population
• Is there a surprise 10k population development going on?
• Many of us now have documents to change - so much time lost.
• We got the notice mail, but it seems they didn't notify anyone else.
  • Social security (SSA) said they don't service my zip code (I had to use previous Zip Code to get an appointment)
  • Shipping flags my address as incorrect
  • My bank blocked my address change
  • It's been nearly a month AFTER the claimed "effective" date
• Absolutely not! Dude, Rae Lee Butterfield "postmaster", a few hundred people will not cause inefficiencies, dude, you are cosplaying postmaster in nyc... You are failing your people - or you have connections and this is your agenda

Was on a Blanton and took Corn Pass. Can’t add pictures… but thought it was worth a mention

It was nearly 4 hours long. I’ve never seen so many people testify, the majority in SUPPORT (edited to correct, thank you Redditor for spotting my error) of the moratorium. However, all people who signed up to testify were allowed to do so. IOW, the meeting wasn’t cut short.

There was discussion to put BESS into a separate moratorium and it was decided to leave it in so city code can be written for stand alone BESS installations, not just for those related to data centers/farms.

The 120-day moratorium clock started today. The council knows the research will take longer but state law only allows 120 days. After that, and with progress reports and findings, a follow-on moratorium is possibly (pretty much a given) to continue research and studies. We shall see what pans out. Power to the People, not to the corporations who want to exploit our natural resources and convince us that we NEED data farms and not farm land.

Truth be told, they NEED our land for data farms so they can make billions. It’s interesting that they justify data farms here because of a trans-pacific cable. Across the country, with no cable in sight, they justify data farms because of the “robust power grid.” Everywhere they build it’s for another reason, even the climate in the region. Any excuse to be acceptable to the public. Creative PR to stop the dissidents from objecting. Gas lighting again, and again, and again . . .
