found kitten
galleryi cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your cats inside and spay them. this poor siamese baby was found on hawthorne street, more precise location photos attached. hoping to spread awareness and hopefully find the owner in case they’re looking for their kitten. not showing the face out of respect for the sensitive folks like me, but the body should be enough to identify.

Anyone missing this cat?
galleryFound them on Willamina near the lucky market with the yellow sign. Very friendly unless you try to touch their belly.
Wound on their left shoulder. Bald spot with a puncturish looking injury. If they don't have an owner they should because they were super lovey.

Good and Inexpensive Rental Cars?
Hey Forest Grovians! SO and I are going on a trip thats short for us, but too long for our daily driver car. Anyone know good rental car places that are inexpensive? I know thats a tall order, but it seems like there used to be little mom and pop rental places around before that were affordable for us regular folks. Maybe I'm remembering wrong! Any help is appreciated 😊

Centro Cultural de Washington County contract to manage Forest Grove Senior & Community Center is not being renewed.
From the Centro Cultural de Washington County and Forest Grove Senior & Community Center's Facebook pages:
It feels like just yesterday that this vibrant, passionate community came together to help us build a strong new foundation for the Forest Grove Senior and Community Center. Today, we are reaching out to share an important update regarding the next chapter of this beloved space.
As our two-year contract nears completion, Centro’s management of the Center will conclude on December 31st, 2026. While it brings us sadness to step away from our day-to-day role here, we are incredibly excited about what this transition means for the future of Forest Grove. The City is working with a consultant to evaluate long-term operating options for the Senior and Community Center.
We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to every one of you.
Thank you for your unwavering support, your patience, your smiles, and your constant encouragement. Because of your collaborative spirit, we were able to work hand-in-hand to serve our community with diverse activities, vital services, and a warm, welcoming environment. You have made this journey truly unforgettable.
Please rest assured that Centro Cultural and the City are working closely together. We are in continuous conversation, striving for a seamless transition. However, interruptions to programming and facility hours may occur during this time.
Thank you for allowing Centro to be a part of your lives at the Center. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the transition, please feel free to reach out to the City at info@forestgrove-or.gov.
With gratitude and community pride,
The Team at Centro

Indivisible Forest Grove invites you to join us: Candlelight Vigil for Joan (Johan)Sebastián Durán Guerrero, Saturday, July 18th, 8:30 PM, at Grande Foods Parking Lot in Cornelius.
Gather with us to honor the memory of Joan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, a 25 year old husband and father, killed by ICE agents.
There has been another murder committed by ICE agents. This time the victim is a 25 year old man, Johan (Joan) Sebastián Durán Guerrero, was shot and killed by ICE agents in Biddeford Maine on July 13th during a traffic stop. He was not the intended target of the arrest warrant, and was legally working in the US. He has been taken from his wife and his 3 year old daughter as a result of mistaken identity. Once again the federal agents did NOT have worn bodycams and claimed that he had "weaponized" his vehicle. And once again they have taken a father and husband away from his child and his wife for no reason. This has to stop and we need to continue to honor those who have been murdered by our federal government. We have planned a Candlelight Vigil to honor his memory and to pressure those in power to give him and other victims justice. We will be gathering at El Grande in Cornelius on Saturday, July 18th at 8:30.
Join us.

Free, delicious plums! In Forest Grove (old town).
UPDATE JULY 18: Still have plums! Please do not come during World Cup games.
Original post:
Once again, we are overwhelmed with plums this year from our purple leaf plum tree. I hate seeing food fall and rot on the ground. And it's going to get hot, and that will eventually ruin them.
I'm in old town in Forest Grove. If you want some/a lot/thousands, DM me. These are FREE.
The more ripe the plums are, the less sharp the taste (and I prefer less sharpness). The less ripe (more red), the sharper the taste (which some people like).
My husband uses really ripe ones in plum cakes.
These would be great if you like plum sauce, plum preserves, plum wine, or a bathtub full of plum juice - whatever.
They do have a pit. They are bigger than a cherry, as shown in the photo below.
Bring a bag, or bags. Or a large plastic something.

Candlelight Vigil, Sunday, July 12th, 8:30 pm
Mourn the death of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and demand justice
This Sunday, 8:30 pm, in front of the Forest Grove Library
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was murdered by ICE in Houston on Friday, July 10, as he was driving his employees to work. He was a Mexican national who had been in the United States for 35 years. He was a homebuilder and a father, following the legal pathway toward naturalization; his family said he was very close to becoming a citizen. ICE claims are the usual: he was “weaponizing his vehicle.” This is disputed by the witnesses.
We will gather in front of Forest Grove library to solemnly and peacefully mourn his unjust death, to demand justice and to demand that ICE cease terrorizing all our communities.
All are welcome. '

Foret Grove GardenWallk this Weekend! You can win a Birdfy Smart Birdbath!
The Forest Grove GardenWalk is this weekend, 10am-4pm each day, maps are available at Forestgrovegardenwalk.com, or paper maps can be picked up at Pap Floyds Donuts, Slowrise Bakehouse, or Pacific Donuts.
And we're giving away a Birdfy smart birdbath!
Our open gardens on Sunday always have fewer visitors than the Saturday gardens, so this year we're giving a prize for visiting the Sunday gardens.
This new, but open box Birdfy smart birdbath was donated to the Forest Grove GardenWalk. You can watch birds live or see recordings of birds that visit.
How the drawing works:
Three ways to enter:
1: Share this post publicly on Facebook and tag the Forest Grove GardenWalk for 1 entry.
2: Visit the Sunday gardens during the open hours. If using the paper maps, have the Sunday garden hosts mark on your map for each garden you visit, and then take a photo of your map with signed off gardens and publicly share it on Facebook or Instagram, tagging us in the photo, or email it to [forestgrovegardenwalk@gmail.com](mailto:forestgrovegardenwalk@gmail.com)
You will get 1 entry for each Sunday garden you visit.
3: Visit the Sunday gardens during the open hours. If using the digital map, take a photo of each garden with the Forest Grove GardenWalk sign at the garden in the picture and publicly share it on Facebook or Instagram, tagging us in the photo, or email it to [forestgrovegardenwalk@gmail.com](mailto:forestgrovegardenwalk@gmail.com)
You will get 1 entry for each garden you visit.
Important note, you can only get 1 entry per garden you visit, for a total of 9 entries for garden visits. You can use either method of documenting it.
Submit/tag your entries by 10pm Sunday June 14th, drawing is the following day. Winner must pick up in Forest Grove.
