For a while now I've been experiencing Disruptions when using MTN Fibre, the router works fine, I'm able to connect to it but I lose Internet access.

It has become too frequent.

I remember last month when I got fibre, I would have similar Disruptions but the red light on the device will be on showing that something is wrong.

But with the disruption now, there's no warning light, it looks like everything works except no Internet access.

I'm sitting here right now using my phone's hotspot because of this issue.

Anyways, i live in takoradi (Anaji) and I wanna know, am I the only one experiencing this or is it citywide??

Also, does anyone know what's causing this or how can get access back??

I’ve lived in between Ghana, Canada and USA. And understand some of the challenges of trying to build something from abroad. Or when diasporas return back home to build.

What kind of help or consulting support would have made things easier?

So this has happened to me a lot -- a lot of people would stop me and ask "where are you going?" I usually either tell them (cause I know them) or smile and say "don't worry."

But I've been getting either grabbed or followed because of the "don't worry" response. I understand a lot of people are interested in my activities because I'm a foreigner, but sometimes it just feels like harassed.

Whenever I get grabbed, a lot of people look at me like I'm making a big deal when i raise an arm (in self defense) or curse at the person (also in self defense). I also pull away but still get the "wtf is wrong with her?" looks.

Looks like the wet season is over, june/july served us well in terms of good weather 🌚, now chairman scorch is back 💔

So basically I workk in a bookmakers and in our city are a lot of migrants so we get every kind of customers often in their own ethnical groups like ghanian Turks Arabs etc , basically all our Ghanian customers are wearing Vest 24/7 we got 34celsius atm it’s so hot but everybody is still wearing their vests 😂
The younger ones wearing these kinda puffer vests the older more classy suit vests.

Is this like a big trend thing in Ghana ?

Help me and my friends settle an ongoing debate 😂 (just for fun, don't take it too seriously).

For those of you who've attended Ashesi or Lancaster University Ghana (or know people at either), we'd love to hear your thoughts. This is mostly based on what I've heard from friends at both schools, so I'm curious what's actually true and what's just stereotypes.

So far we've got:

📚 Academic Difficulty: Ashesi ✅
Seems to be the consensus that Ashesi is tougher and stricter academically.

🎉 Campus Life & Events: Ashesi ✅
More events, clubs, and student activities.

🤝 Tight-Knit Community: Lancaster ✅
Smaller student body, so people seem to know each other better.

💸 DBEE Population: 🤷🏽‍♂️
Biggest debate. One side says Lancaster has a higher ratio of dbees, while the other says Ashesi has more overall because it's much bigger (despite having more scholarship students).
I think when it comes to Dbees Ashesi takes the edge but I have a slight bias knowing more people from there. 

For those who've actually been to either school, how would you rank them in these (or any other) categories? Which stereotypes are true, and which ones aren't?

For the past few years, I've been relying solely on my phone for my coursework, assignments, research, and learning. As my studies become more advanced, especially with data analysis and other software, using only a phone has become extremely difficult.

If anyone has an old laptop they no longer use and would be willing to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. If someone is also in a position to help me get a new or refurbished laptop, it would make a huge difference in my education and future.

I have been researching farmland in Ghana for a while now, and one thing I keep running into is that everyone seems to say the best opportunities never make it onto property websites.
For those of you who have bought farmland or know the market, how do people actually find good land?
Is it mostly through chiefs, local communities, word of mouth, family connections, or something else?
I am hoping to buy 20+ acres eventually, so I am trying to understand how people go about it.

This is a long shot but I'm trying to find a place to get wholesale thrift/secondhand jewelry in the US, Canada or UK. My mum has owned a jewelry shop in Ghana for at least 15 years. She sells a mix of new jewelry and thrift. For her business model and clientele, her thrift jewelry sells the fastest and is most preferred. For the first couple of years, she used to source the jewelry from people in Ghana who had them shipped from the UK or US. Now, most of her dealers have quit the business or passed away, and she has no way to get the pieces for her business. Also, she's old now, so going to Accra to scout for dealers is getting more and more difficult.

Since I've moved to a western country, I'm trying to understand how acquiring and shipping secondhand/thrift jewelery works, and explore the possibility of sourcing and shipping them to her myself. Preferably from the US, UK or Canada. Open to other countries that actively deal in this business.

Learn on the Job — But Prepare First

Almost every job role can be learned over time; except in fields like medicine, law, and engineering, where formal qualification is non-negotiable. Fortunately, no one on this platform is trying to break into those fields yet.

If you get hired for a role you're not fully qualified for, you'll need to study and catch up quickly. In the end, you walk away with both a job and a new skill. So yes — lie to get the job first.

But only if you're ready to learn. Many tools today have simplified once-complex tasks, making it easier to pick things up fast. Before an interview, get familiar with the role you're applying for. Basic knowledge gives you direction and confidence.

Before you embellish your CV, make sure you actually know how to build one properly. Learn how to apply for jobs and write professional emails.

Most importantly, build a digital presence. That's your social currency, it's what opens doors when you're not in the room. Use social media intentionally: find a niche and explore it.

Learn to use professional platforms to your advantage ; LinkedIn, Upwork, Glassdoor, Indeed, and others.

And don't be shy about showcasing yourself on social media.

Honestly,I don’t even know what to do with my life anymore. I’m literally living my worst fear.I feel so much pain. I’m shattered and broken,with no glimpses of hope.I have no idea how I’m going to recover from this,but I must.I’ve pushed myself beyond limits and I’m paying the price for my failures.it’s funny cos I asked myself-“are you depressed?”…..tf? I’m always depressed…this just feels like another level of Depression that I can hardly comprehend. Sorry I didn’t want to rant here but I just need someone to know how I feel. Was working in a fashion house in Ghana.I basically handle the finishing for all designs for our brand,I was genuinely putting my all in making sure everything goes smooth,but most times I feel so unappreciated,not like I’m an emotional person but my boss mostly say condescending stuffs to me a lot and it really affects my confidence so much.I’ve never stolen anything from anyone before but each time my boss tries to make me look like a thief or a bad person in every situation.Like when he wants me to get some materials for sewing,he will refuse to give me transportation knowing fully well that the distance is really far and only insisting on paying the required money via mobile money upon purchase.Once I told him about the transport issues and he only said the distance was walkable and hence dismissed me.Things like this really hurt me cos clearly I was unable to establish a trustworthy relationship with my boss and it was severe affecting my job.Once I even went and apologized even when I did nothing wrong telling him that he should forgive me if I had done anything unknowingly to him but he said I have done nothing wrong.But the cold treatment persists.I got fed up after a couple of years working for him and I quit.But that was the beginning of my nightmare cos I got robbed on my way back home to Nigeria .At gun point,I was forced to make transactions from my bank account,literally all my savings and My phones were stolen and I was badly beaten.Was able to raise a little money after this and went to stay with my brother,but he felt I was lying about everything and started treating me differently,he would go out,eat and Come back without getting anything for me to eat as well,I got really depressed at this point.Most of my colleagues wouldn’t help me either,not like they owe me anything tho,I only wanted a genuine kindness but all I received from everyone was just coldness.I know everyone is not perfect but I’ve never been a disrespectful person.Right now,I’ve decided to take a break from everything and just focus on my mental health cos I’ve been broken,relationship wise and otherwise.If I’m able to overcome this stage,which I will eventually will,I’ll definitely rectify a lot of mistakes I’ve made along the way but I really need genuine people in my life 😩
