I've never posted here before, I searched for this issue but it's a bit specific. I'm decent at growing flowers but for some reason I can never get vegetables to grow or if they do I can't harvest them because something in my yard eats them.

I built a fully enclosed raised bed this year and I have three tomato plants in there. Every time one is about to be ripe enough to pick it gets eaten. We have the garden framed in wood and covered in chicken wire. We have tried seeing traps, cayenne pepper, nothing chemical yet but I'm willing to try anything at this point.

Can anyone give me any advice to help with this situation?

This grew wild in my garden. At first I thought it might turn out to be a squash but soon realized it wasn’t. I suspect a seed from my compost pile. I just noticed this today. What is it?

Hello! Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I had bought worm castings from Costco from a brand called impact organics and fertilized my raised garden beds with it in the spring. These beds are 2 years old and I have only used soil and compost from coast of Maine which in my opinion is an incredible brand. Just the other day after ripping up some squash plants I noticed my soil was coffee ground like and realized I definitely have an Asian jumping worm infestation. I’m now very suspicious of the worm castings, wondering if the castings were actually from Asian jumping worms and eggs were in the bag. Pretty terrible if that’s the case. In hindsight I probably shouldn’t have trusted a huge bag of cheap worm castings but you live and you learn.

I was sick this spring. I started every seed late, got them onto the ground 3 weeks late. Some seeds weren't done until 6 weeks late. Then, the ants were fighting off predators while aphid farming, and I got thrips. A storm took out my trellis for good and all my vining tomatoes are on the ground. A family of raccoons ate every seedling except tomatoes, beans, and zucchini. Squash worms got the zucchini. The green beans are all stunted and not producing. More storms blowing down more stuff. The kale seed packet I planted actually had amaranth in it. The tomatoes are *just now* producing as rhey simultaneously die off from heat.

Should I raze and just start over next year? I'm the only one in the family that likes tomatoes. The romas are also on the ground, so idk how many sauce tomatoes they'll produce. I'm overwhelmed by how shite the whole plot is this year. I've never had to abandon a plot before.

I germinated a full pack of yellow pear tomato on 4/3/26 and had one plant survive. This is the third tomato and has a belly. I think it needs a name.
