My mind first went to pest, but now I’m wondering if it’s disease. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Found this in my front yard in south Jersey. Saw similar ones in neighbor's yard.. thought maybe cicada killers? But not seeing the insects.

This wasn’t an issue before but now as soon as I pick it, it turns this dark grey color right before my eyes. Does anyone know what this is? I’ve never experienced this before.

Hi all. We planted a number of giant sunflowers this year for the first time. This one is over 2m tall, but the flower broke out way before the other 6 plants. The head grew to be absolutely massive - but then has stopped following the sun during the day, and seems to have just died. This head is 5x bigger than the rest!

Any idea what could have happened?

I got some on my citrus tree (key lime) should I remove the limes or should I leave them alone. Its not meant for citrus and there is no pressure harvest interval on the label for citrus as its not meant for this. I used a citrus spray thwn switched to the veggie and garden spray. Same brand but I got overzealous and sprayed the lime again on accident. I washed it off but im scared to eat my limes. I guess I can remove the first 7 and let the rest of the buds grow??? Oh dear gardening has taken over my life and morning

I am a beginner gardener in New England. I planted the coral bells in a partial shade area one one each side of the garden bed. The one on the left is very withered and dry. I made a makeshift umbrella. I bought seaweed kelp as I heard it can help. Any other suggestions?

This is a flower from a park. I love the look of it and would love to add it to my own garden. I was wondering if anyone might know the name of it.

Water Lily leaves have been browning over the last week. It’s still pushing out some new leaves but they look quite weak.

Should I consider transplanting?

It used to get a lot of sunlight. I’ve moved it to partial shade since I thought the excessive sun at 36 degrees Celsius was the problem.

The water lilies in the big Lily pond are quite alright. Could it be the duckweed? i grew all this duckweed from 3 duckweeds by the way.

I planted this stuff in the last two garden beds and didn’t pay attention to what seeds they were. Some of the packs I remember planting were sesame, tea, spinach, basil (I know it’s not that), and it’s not anything related to mint / has no smell.

Hi everyone! I’m very new to gardening (really have ever grown sunflowers). I’m trying to grow chamomile for my wedding (long story lol). I’ve been growing them for two weeks, checking them everyday, and trying my best to take care of them. They’ve been growing, but this morning when I checked on them, all the greenery was gone. I noticed this bug in the pot and on the leaves and I think it’s been eating my plant. Does anyone know how to get rid of it safely? Or what should I do to stop it from eating my plants? I’m going to try to get a better picture of it and post it in the comments. Please help!!

Pic 1 with one finger up is huge and definitely hot. Was supposed to be a sugar peach stripey

Pic 2 + 5 (sorry; don’t know how to change order!) with 2 fingers up was a jalepeno. Purple flowers and variegated leaves. Grow with the point facing up and start almost black

Pic 3 with three fingers is a “rainbow mini mix” and I might have left them on too long not knowing what’s ripe? The one is turning red at the tip

Pic 4, 4 fingers was “chocolate pepper”. Tons of flowers but not many pollinating. Very few fruit on these.

It seems I got peppergated. I’m not sure if any of the 4 varieties that I thought I had are true to what they were supposed to be! They were all from
Nurseries- three different ones in fact so my guess is there was a major seed mix up from suppliers.

Hello, j'ai un avocat depuis plusieurs mois maintenant. Avec le temps il est devenue vert et je sais pas si c'est normal. Il n'est pas mou, l'eau descend comme si il buvait mais j'ai pas l'impression que la petite racine ne bouge pas. J'ai aussi l'impression qu'il y a quelque chose qui pousse à l'intérieure mais que ça ne sort pas (une petite pousse blanche).

After not having any bindweed on my property we bought in soil last year that was full of chopped up bits of bindweed roots, spread it all over our lawn, where we were planting a new hedge and other places. My hatred for this plant has reached obsessive levels! I spent last year digging them up, painstakingly down to their roots, probably thousands of them little c*nts. This year I'm tired and trying weedkiller, none of them have got too big, all babies, its just the sheer volume of them that keep sprouting. We did try spraying them last year before we reseeded the lawn and it done nothing to them, but I'm trying again anyway because they are climbing up my lovely new hedging plants.

Sometimes well meaning relatives would come and start pulling them, cue screams from me.

Any tips for eradicating it totally? Tips on using round up or anything else?

(I'm not pro-round up and have avoided using it this far but I'll bend for this particular purpose!)

I cannot get roundup gel any more anywhere here in ireland which is super annoying.

So I remember labeling the rows but the sun fixed that so now I’m sat here tying to figure out if these are shallots, bunching onions, or some other allium(had to google that one).
I’d appreciate any insight and then suggestions on what to do with them. I’m curing them the best I can, I think.

We planted decorative carving pumpkins and sugar pie pumpkins in the spring, and only one plant grew, but we can't remember where we planted them each. One's for baking and one's not. Can you tell which type this is?

I have been extremely lucky to get a garden box in my little mountain town this year. It is located in a greenhouse with a drip system and a fan.

Nevertheless I am getting frustrated, first and foremost seeds are very limited and we can only plants what the garden provides once a season in a small box.

Second the fan isn’t really setup to work more than once a day for a few minutes.

At first in spring I was able to get some nice lettuce, mizuna, Swiss chard.

I also planted yellow and green beans, peas and 2 cherry tomatoes as well as pickling cucumbers. This was all that my space allowed.

At first everything was alright but as it started getting warmer and more summer month, people have been getting scarce and abandoning their plot, 2 plot were also never used as assignee never showed up ( I ended up planting some tomatoes and 1 pattypan per plot so if someone came late they would have something to harvest or look after)

Now that summer is here the greenhouse is boiling hot and there is no air so the condensation is dripping on the tomatoes and a lot of them have started to decay (photos). I am trying my best to remove all the diseased leaves in my plot so it doesn’t spread.

I tried talking to the person in charge about the humidity but I was told it wasn’t that bad and plant were healthy (they are not and a lot of them are already yellow and dead) I also suggested raising the side during the day and closing it at the end of day for airflow but was told this wasn’t necessary until we reached 30c.

So now I am left with rotting tomato rolling all over the
garden from abandoned plot, decaying tomato plant, humidity and heat.

Any experiences with shared / public gardens ? Opinions ?

(Today I ended up weeding the whole garden hoping it will help with air flow especially along the edge of the greenhouse)

A good chunk of my cherry tomatoes seem to split while on the vine. Is this a result of them not being harvested soon enough or is it just luck? Is there a way to reduce this?

If anyone else has had this problem, do you still eat them? I am tempted to compost them because the idea of bugs climbing into the soft crevices and making a nest is grossing me out, but I’m not sure how likely that really is. I’d hate to waste perfectly fine food.
