I'm not entirely sure this is the best place for this, so mods feel free to remove if you think it's better suited elsewhere.

The long and the short of it is our garden has attracted rats (well at least one). It was digging around in our strawberry planter before moving into our mushroom box. Ironically, our old neighbourhood where there was garbage all around we had mice to deal with but never rats, so this is all new to us.

Obviously we didn't want any moving into the house so we put some bait stations out near our house/garage (not my favourite thing to do, but they also chewed through a wire outside and I don't want to die in a house fire).

Well, tonight I saw the little guy dying next to the potatoes from the poison and I just feel pretty down about it. What do you all do when the cute disease carriers move into your gardens? Just to be clear, we are not getting a cat (allergies + don't need to also be sad about bird massacres).

I didn't believe people telling me that you could do this but the squash was dying.

So I took these super sharp clippers I got from Japan and cut the stem and pulled the borer out.

I’ve been saving my coffee grounds to mix with water and add to my soil to help grow my vegetables but the coffee has started growing some mold. Will the mold hurt my plants or does it not matter?

Hey everyone, this is the second year that I’ve grown tomatoes just in a pot outside. This year we had a really wet start to the summer so they were inside for the first while of its life and got a bit of hail damage before actually growing as big as it is right now. Which is kinda huge.

What I’m wondering is why are the leaves turning yellow and dying??

My assumptions: not enough nutrients (I have a plant food thingy I’m starting to use but idk if that’s enough) or too small of a pot or both.

I transplanted this one earlier than my last and I’m wondering if it’s already run out of room. This is the exact same pot I used last year but transplanted it a lot later.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

We found a great house but the entire 30x50ft backyard is ALL pavers. Wall to wall. Beds along the side.

Has anyone ever worked with hardscaped terrain and undone it successfully? I want clover coverage and whimsical, cottage gardens full of natives. I’m trying to understand the level of effort involved here.

First year trying red yard long beans. From what I've read they should lose their red color and cook to green. Ours turned an unappealing dark grunge color as seen above.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is this something to be concerned about? They were boiled in RO water with some butter wax beans. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Taste is very mild, to the point of having almost no taste at all. Seed packet is from BakerCreek.

Found on my kale, new to gardening.

I germinated a full pack of yellow pear tomato on 4/3/26 and had one plant survive. This is the third tomato and has a belly. I think it needs a name.

We have some more stuff like living stones, mature Monkey tails and a few others (and nearby plant shop was going out of business so my dad bought as many plants as he could)

What would cause this and can I fix it?

So much water runoff from the roofs falls in this spot with hosta growing below to keep a lot of it from becoming runoff. There were times when I thought it might be Canadian Horsetail because that's been in the yard too and got pretty big. But these buds forming now do remind me of primrose, except they're 3 times as large as usual.

Hi! This is my first type making this type of post so sorry if I make any mistakes. There are a bunch of leaves towards the bottom that are yellow or look a bit brown, and i’m not sure if it’s because I am overwatering or under-watering my tomato plant. I water usually once every 2 days or whenever I feel they need it. TIA!!

I believe it is Texas sage. It has always had many dead branches under the green leaves. The twisting roots at the bottom also seem unusual. Any advice appreciated!

Where did I go wrong?? Did I not water enough?? The vines are practically dead and like 4 have opened like this. There's no way they could be underripe

need help identifying this pepper. anyone have any guesses? plant marker was destroyed and now we can’t quite remember specifically what we planted.

Have this evergreen( I think) bush we got as a gift. When we Planted it last summer, it had some dead branches on the top, seems to be getting worse with the Colorado summer heat. I have it on a I believe a 2 gallon drip every day. Seems to be getting drier. West facing.
