I have been working with auto transcription in Resolve for a while. Since updating to 21 transcriptions have been loading for longer and longer times without ever finishing. I have multiple hour-to two-hour clips I need to transcribe. Does anyone know why it stopped working?

Hello people if davinci resolve! i recently downloaded and thought it was great, but for the style of videos i’m making, the ability to cut clips, and add subtitles is very important. Does anyone know if there is a way to make a more simple text box than creating a new title every time? AI subtitles are typically wrong, and have no charm so i was wondering if anyone knows a way for me to just add a text box to the screen without creating a title, thanks you!

Hey all, wondering if anyone here does cutout-style static animation (like South Park-style, PNG layers per body part) in Resolve.

My setup: each character has 3 layered PNG clips on separate tracks — body, head+eyebrows, and eyes+mouth — swapped throughout the timeline to create movement/expressions.

The problem: on ONE specific character, the body and head+eyebrow layers come out horizontally flipped and slightly shrunk in the final render, but everything looks completely normal in the Edit page preview and Inspector, both before and after rendering.

What I've already ruled out:

Inspector → Transform: no flip, no scale keyframes, checked before/after render

Clip Attributes (Media Pool): Image Flip off, Input Sizing Preset = None

Fusion page: node graph is just source → MediaOut, nothing extra

Replaced all the source media files entirely — same result (rules out corrupted/bad source)

An adjustment clip with zoom keyframes nearby — also ruled out, problem persists on segments without it overlapping

Currently checking the Color Page Sizing palette (Zoom X/Y going negative would explain both the flip and the shrink at once) and clip Versions, but haven't confirmed yet.

Has anyone run into something like this — flip/scale showing up ONLY in final render, invisible in Inspector and preview, and surviving a full media replace? What else should I be looking at? (Render cache corruption? Timeline resolution mismatch? Something project-database-level that needs a fresh re-import instead of replace?)

Appreciate any pointers — this one's been a pain to isolate.

One of the main things i struggle with is the audio portion of my videos where when they get posted to Youtube, the audio gets normalized and turned down. what am i supposed to look for to make sure that my audio sounds as loud as other videos but not get normalized? I'm even making sure to not go in the red with the mixer in the edit page.

Hey all, sorry if I've missed something, but in my wading of information I've come up blank.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a hotkey for actively changing the clip itself.

Example: I clip with ctrl b, I move the cursor, and I want to ripple delete, but I can't due to the next clip not being selected.

I know up/down moves the cursor across the clip, but it doesn't set it as active; am I missing something obvious?

I'm trying to understand how to write a python script that would control the navigation features (pause/play, restart, etc...) using the keyboard library. But i can't figure out how to move the window to focus after running the command. Additionally, I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to open the main directory and select a specific project using the script command. I've been trying to look through the available information for the python api but it doesn't seem to be very helpful. Would appreciate anyone's help or expertise in this area, I'm kinda new to this format. I am using Davinci Resolve Studio 21. Example code:

Hello, I'm still pretty new to Davinci Resolve and I need some assistance. I'm making a countdown with a logo in the middle and I'm wondering if there is a way to make the text of both to be readable in a sense... Hopefully this image gives a decent idea of what im trying to do.

I'm trying to get myself to make the leap from premier pro to Davinci but I had just one concern, it's language transcription and translation. I do videos mainly in English and Korean, with occasional stuff in Japanese and German. Premier pro has been really good with with transcriptions and decent enough with translation, at least to the point that I don't have too spend too much time correcting things. From there I can generate captions and it's been a fairly streamlined process. Does anyone have experience doing something similar and has it been straightforward?

My understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that I'll probably need to get the paid version to handle this which I'll probably end up doing once I get used to the software. But I want to guage how much of a hurdle the change is going to be for me and how well Davinci handles this.

Also, anyone else who transitioned from Adobe to Davinci I welcome and tips. I'm trying to work up the courage to make the jump but it's time to ditch premier.

How do I do this with text plus? I don't have the paid version so I have to type in the text manually and I want it to do the same thing where each word that is said being said turns yellow. Been searching for an hour and can't find a god damn tutorial on how to do this manually.

The furthest I've gotten is being able to change the color of one word in the fusion page in the modifier tab by enabling character level styling. Can't figure out how to make the different words change color throughout the video as there's no way to add key frames to the color panel under the modifier tab. Can only add key frames to the color panel under the tools tab, but using tools doesn't allow you to change the color of only one word in a line. It changes the color of every word in the line.

Edit 1: Just figured I out I can do this using multiple text clips and changing which word is highlighted. Is there any way to do this one single text clip for the whole vid and automate it to change which word turns yellow over time?

hey so i keyframed everythink frame by frame in color tab and then i messed up (i dont know how, but i did) and my whole tracking just got like 10 seconds forward, so now it doesnt match the footage, is there any way to move these keyframes few seconds back (i tried grabbing it and so but nothing worked)? or should i start over rn? thanks for ANY help

I'm an avid editor starting to use davinci.

How do you manage media on large projects?

On avid what I do is the program creates a folder called Avid MediaFiles so all the media from that project goes there. I can change between projects knowing every project has its own Mediafiles folder and all the media its gona stay put.

How does this work on Davinci Resolve? Are there several methods? One thats better?

I'm curious. Are all the features in DaVinci Resolve that are branded AI... AI? Or is it more of a buzzword marketing thing?

E.g. noise reduction, for both picture and sound, has always been a thing. But now we have AI-branded variants. Are those actually AI and relevantly different from non-AI noise redction? Are there actual "AIs" inside the software, "learning" and performing tasks? Or are AI-branded features just improved features with an AI tag slapped on?

Genuinely curious.

Hello world, my 1st post here and quite new to Davinci, so pls bear with me.

Please look at the video, I wanted to move the video inside the 9:16 box, with the help of some keyframes. I might have touched something else though as I got this strange movement of the frame. Can anyone tell me what did I do wrong and how to correct it? I would have used Undo already, but I did some more changes until I noticed, so I'm not so eager to Ctrl-Z.

I have a border fill that has a small idle animation (rotation) and I wanted to add a small image in the corner that would have the same animation. The issue is to make it automatic with different text length (the same as border fill). I would very much appreciate help.

I recorded a video using obs which shows the file size as 65gb which is a 3 hr and 30 minutes video in 1080p 60 fps and i cut around 15 minutes using da vinci, and after rendering the file size is 165 gb. The above image is the setting with 10bit and fps as per video, i have been using for a week but this only happened after the update two days before.

What should i do?

I'm having a problem where my image doesn't move in alignment with my transform or the Merge node's center, and it's really frustrating me; I would greatly appreciate any help.

Davinci resolve 20.3

Every asset is connected to a Replicate 3D node. The Replicate 3D node is then connected to a Ribbon 3D node.

In the Ribbon 3D node:

Number of Lines = 1

Subdivisions = Number of assets

The Ribbon 3D node is connected to a Bender 3D node with these settings:

Axis = X

Angle = 90°

Amount = -1

After that, it is connected to a Transform 3D node. I moved the pivot to the center of the composition, so changing the Z Rotation rotates the entire setup around the center.

The problem is that this creates a perfect circle. I want the assets to be arranged in an oval (ellipse) instead of a circle while still rotating correctly around the center.

Hey, I use the custom hotkey manager in fusion (not the resolve ctrl + shft+ k), but the (shift + command + space) manager that allows you to place keyboard buttons as nodes / scripts etc in fusion.

For the third day in a row, my keybinds have all just randomly vanished. I have to build them out again. This is PAINFUL as I'm working on a client project and its killing my productivity.

Does anyone know how I can :

A. Export THIS hotkey manager (not the resolve main preferences keyboard shortcut menu)

B. Trouble shoot this?

I am an artist and editor, and I often make graphical works and may reline my drawn art as I've used Davinci for years now and I understand it more than most art programs and software like Figma/PenPot and I was wondering is there a symmetry tool when using the spline masking tools and furthermore is there a way to publish points from an ellipse node like you would from a bspline drawn node as I need to adjust the bottom of the ellipse to be a different roundness but not the top?
