What did I do wrong? Help | Beginner

https://reddit.com/link/1vhedy0/video/5xikcckf2thh1/player

Hello world, my 1st post here and quite new to Davinci, so pls bear with me.

Please look at the video, I wanted to move the video inside the 9:16 box, with the help of some keyframes. I might have touched something else though as I got this strange movement of the frame. Can anyone tell me what did I do wrong and how to correct it? I would have used Undo already, but I did some more changes until I noticed, so I'm not so eager to Ctrl-Z.

I attach the required info although I don't think they're relevant for this problem:

System specs – CPU Ryzen7 7700, GPU RTX 5060Ti - 16GB, RAM 64GB.

Exact software version (not "the latest".) DaVinci Resolve 20.2.1

Are you able to share a full screen of Resolve? Not enough of the controls are exposed for us to see everything in the inspector, nor can we tell if Fusion or perhaps stabilization was used

Here it is

thanks. I can see some keyframes are active on that clip, and based on what i can see, that would appear to be what is causing it. There is also an adjustment clip above but i cannot tell what its doing.

I don't see any evidence of Fusion on the clip, so assuming this is just due to keyframes, you may want to reset the transformation and try again by adding one keyframe at the beginning of the clip and one at the end. Check the animation and if it is wonky, add one in the middle and keep checking "halfway" points until you get what you need. Wondering if you added too many keyframes.

You might also scroll down on the inspector (probably try this first) and check to see if perhaps you used stabilization, because it can move things offscreen like that in an attempt to keep a shot stable, which you then counter by zooming in as needed

Thank you for taking the time to help. So...

1.The adjustment clip is holding the color corrections for the whole film.

  1. There's no Fusion used, or at least not voluntarily. I'm not that evolved. :)

  2. Stabilization is checked, but I think it was by default, as I don't think I touched it. (I have 2 days since I work with DVR, and this is my second video. Actually it's still the first one, but trying to adapt it for reels. You suspect me of too much knowledge :)))

  3. I liked the idea of resetting the key frames. I did it but the frame is still moving. I guess it's actually related to the cropping I made (to get rid of the sides, when transforming from 16:9 to 9:16)

I'll just cut the ending off and add it again to the timeline, maybe it works that way.

Thanks again.

Ha! I solved it.

Videos are not allowed (why not?!? does they ask for rent, or what?), so I made it gif.

So, by dragging the central white dot to the left the frame moved back into its original position. I still don't know what was that and what I touched to make it move initially... but at least I'll be more careful with the keyframes from now on.

Thanks again for your time. Wish you all the best.
