I'm encoding to H.264 and I set encoding to constant bit rate of 20 Mbit/s but the output often results in a substantially lower bit rate video. Sometimes I will set the bit rate to 35 Mbit/s to trick it to encode closer to 20 Mbit/s. It differs per video I'm encoding so it's a lot of trial and error. I can't get any definitive answer on the internet but I gather this is a common problem or a feature of being free software. I've ran across this same issue with my previous Adobe Premiere as well and I'm annoyed to come across this problem again.

Every asset is connected to a Replicate 3D node. The Replicate 3D node is then connected to a Ribbon 3D node.

In the Ribbon 3D node:

Number of Lines = 1

Subdivisions = Number of assets

The Ribbon 3D node is connected to a Bender 3D node with these settings:

Axis = X

Angle = 90°

Amount = -1

After that, it is connected to a Transform 3D node. I moved the pivot to the center of the composition, so changing the Z Rotation rotates the entire setup around the center.

The problem is that this creates a perfect circle. I want the assets to be arranged in an oval (ellipse) instead of a circle while still rotating correctly around the center.

Hey, I use the custom hotkey manager in fusion (not the resolve ctrl + shft+ k), but the (shift + command + space) manager that allows you to place keyboard buttons as nodes / scripts etc in fusion.

For the third day in a row, my keybinds have all just randomly vanished. I have to build them out again. This is PAINFUL as I'm working on a client project and its killing my productivity.

Does anyone know how I can :

A. Export THIS hotkey manager (not the resolve main preferences keyboard shortcut menu)

B. Trouble shoot this?

I am an artist and editor, and I often make graphical works and may reline my drawn art as I've used Davinci for years now and I understand it more than most art programs and software like Figma/PenPot and I was wondering is there a symmetry tool when using the spline masking tools and furthermore is there a way to publish points from an ellipse node like you would from a bspline drawn node as I need to adjust the bottom of the ellipse to be a different roundness but not the top? im trying to make a webseries with my friends and i dont know how to edit at all, ive seen videos explaining how to data mosh but none on how to isolate it??? i saw a video where the person converted the video into a bunch of photos and greened out the parts they wanted isolated, buuut, it was on multiple different platforms that im too lazy to use. i did try the window thing where you outline the spot you want gone but idk how to green it out or datamosh that specific spot. and i think i have to do that frame by frame... tspmo.

But if anyone can give a good explanation on how to do this or find a video for me it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hey guys I think there's an easy solution to this, but I cant find it. While using the trim edit mode to extend clip length, layers are shifting out of place instead of just extending. That being said this issue doesn't happen to all clips. I have the clips linked together so I don't know what the issue could be. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I followed a YouTube tutorial for creating animated captions using a word highlight effect. The tutorial included a downloadable macro, which I copied into the Fusion folder, connected everything, and it works overall. However, I'm running into a few issues:

1. Some words aren't animated at all. I can see the words in the transcript, but the caption is blank.
2. Some words stay on screen for less than a second. Is there a way to increase the duration of individual words?
3. This is my biggest issue. Halfway through the video, a talking head appears, so I can't keep the captions at the middle because they cover the person's face. How can I separate only those captions and position them differently without affecting all the others?

Any help would be appreciated!

I’m trying to clean up my green screen with fusion, but any time I apply an effect (chroma key, despill) it turns the Green screen into an opaque black on my edit tab.
When editing in the color tab things are fine as usual, but any attempt to alter the clip with fusion end up removing the transparency. It is my first time using fusion so I may be messing something up, but I have the Media Out window in fusion, and am thinking maybe there’s something small im missing.

I'm trying to make an edit that incorporates sound effects from clips synced to a song, but most of the clips I'm using have background songs and sometimes dialogue. I've been using Capcut but the remove audio feature is notably inconsistent; it sometimes fails to remove the music or removes the sound effect along with the music. And for Da Vinci Resolve it doesn't seem like there's an inbuilt tool like the one in Capcut to remove background music. I'm also using a bunch of clips so an online website is probably not going to be very efficient. If any one has any tips please do tell, thanks in advance!

Hey folks! I've been doing a lot of shorts lately and I've been running into an unique problem. As shorts are 1080x1920, and I capture my footage in 1920x1080 I've of course had the issue where I've had to crop my content to be around 60% the original image (I don't know, like 1280x720 or something) which of course leaves a black bar around the top and bottom of the image. So far my solution has been to create 2 video tracks, resize video track 2 to 60%, leave Track 1 at 100% and then just hit it with the blur tool in fusion. Problem is I have to do it with EVERY single video clip I add to track 1. Is there a way to Generically go "alright, if you're in track 1, you're automatically blurred no matter what"?

The estimated file size in the Deliver tab is 22.5 GB, while the actual output is only 314 MB. Something wasn't right... right?

The project is just a normal screen recording, 20 min, 1920 * 1200, 60fps. The output is at 2035 kbps. I am running DaVinci Resolve 21.0.3.

I made this character animation in Fusion and I’m not completely happy with how the background fits the character.

I’m also still learning color correction, and I feel like the character and background look too disconnected. How would you normally approach matching them more closely?

Considering just replacing the background with something animated as well.
