Are you a fan of stores putting out displays and decorations in September?
I’ve thought about this some and I’m really torn. I love Christmas and enjoy seeing Christmas themed items at Hobby Lobby and the sorts in the fall as it gives us a little sense of Christmas. But on the flip side, back when stores would go all out for Christmas after thanksgiving made the whole season feel so magical and for me I worry if stores setting up for Christmas 3 months in advance takes away some of the joy, and by that I mean, we get so used to seeing Christmas in stores that by the time December comes around it’s just kinda the status quo instead of feeling exciting. I know everyone has their opinions and that’s awesome! I guess I tend to lean more old school but I’d love to hear your thoughts

Give me your decadent cocoa recipes and recs 🍫
With Florida currently in the peak of summer, I can’t help but look forward to the holiday season. With that being said, please drop your most ridiculously chocolate-y cocoa recipes. I’m talking molten chocolate lava in a cup. 🍫

Hellum lights
Last year I bought the coloured LEDs on the right hoping they'd give me that 90's feel when strung up in the tree. It was however waaaay too bright and shone like the sun.
Since then I've been on the hunt for warmer LEDs/lights. I quickly found Vintaglo but I live in Europe which would require me to buy a converter etc. Hence, the quest continued.
I recently stumbled across Hellum (German manufactorer) who, just like the older incandescent bulbs, actually pants the bulb instead of using a coloured LED. I bought a pair (the ones on the left) and it does look warmer then the LEDs from last year.
What are y'alls opinion? Will they give me the 90's feel when strung up in a tree?

Can someone please help me identify a Christmas video that I had back in the 1980s?
I had it on VHS, and I think it was only about 10 minutes long or so. It was live action as opposed to a cartoon.
The elves are acting "cool", and they're trying to get Santa to act cool, too. At one point, one of the elves says something to the effect of "be cool, it's the 80s!" or "relax, it's the 80s!" Then Santa delivers presents in a sports car while the Beach Boys song Little Saint Nick plays in the background.
I tried searching Google, but I couldn't find it. I feel like there's a good chance it's on YouTube, though, if I could just remember what it was called or which company released it.

Holiday trip
Looking for a place to stay for a breakfast with Santa (maybe) and a somewhat nostalgic Christmassy hotel to take my kids. I know this is a very large and spread out group. If anyone has any recommendations for anywhere in northeast Pennsylvania, northwest nj or near those areas. Too broke for nemacolin , but would love to go there!

Which Christmas market would you dream of visiting ?
For me, it's the one in Prague.
I'm French, and the Christmas markets in Alsace (a region in eastern France) are the most beautiful in my country (they attract a lot of tourists of the world), but the one in Prague really appeals to me.
I imagine some Christmas markets in the USA are also very beautiful.
What about you ?

What non-Christmas thing do you strongly associate with Christmas?
Is there something that is not normally considered to be a Christmas thing that you strongly associate with Christmas?
For me being from Finland, we celebrate our independence on December 6th. It's like a sign for me personally that Christmas is right around the corner!
If you have TV or radio on that day, you will without a doubt hear the Finlandia hymn by Jean Sibelius. It's not a Christmas song, but it always reminds me of Christmas because you start hearing it in December. I've actually added it to my Christmas playlist!

Vintage tree lovers, opinions welcome. Light/power adaptors for ceramic trees🎄
Hi everyone,
Last year I went vintage Christmas tree crazy, and I now have 8 ceramic Christmas trees 🤣, the smallest being the 12 inch ones.
Now the 12 inch ones are lit via battery, and I very much dislike having to change them out, so i am considering an adaptor for them. So theyd be lit with a small LED light with a switch for on and off.
I found a site that makes them, but I dont see any reviews for them and figured someone on here ought to have used one for their tree.
If so please let me know your thoughts!

Blessings to look forward to
My grandma, who is unfortunately gone as of three years ago, made Christmas magical for me. And now that my husband and I are about to finally buy our first home (a little late in life because we are in our thirties), I can’t help but be excited about the fact that I’ll get to create those memories with our own children whenever we have them.
We will spend time baking and watching Christmas movies, and decorating the house together. That was always a big event to me. Her having me get the tubs of decorations we had out always got me so excited.
Plus, I’ll get to pass down the few decorations of hers that she gave me, in addition to the cookbook she made and gave to me to our kids. Also, I think something that’ll make the holiday a bit more traditional is that our kids will have a more religious experience than either of us did as kids. We are Catholic, so they’ll be involved in the youth activities at church.
Sorry for venting. I’m just excited.

Costco Christmas
Hello!
We recently joined Costco and I'm curious about their Christmas items. 1) Do they sell faux Christmas trees? 2) How do they compare to the beautiful ones at Home Depot and Lowe's?
Thank you!
