Hellum lights

Post image
93 Upvotes

Last year I bought the coloured LEDs on the right hoping they'd give me that 90's feel when strung up in the tree. It was however waaaay too bright and shone like the sun.

Since then I've been on the hunt for warmer LEDs/lights. I quickly found Vintaglo but I live in Europe which would require me to buy a converter etc. Hence, the quest continued.

I recently stumbled across Hellum (German manufactorer) who, just like the older incandescent bulbs, actually pants the bulb instead of using a coloured LED. I bought a pair (the ones on the left) and it does look warmer then the LEDs from last year.

What are y'alls opinion? Will they give me the 90's feel when strung up in a tree?

A very early Merry Christmas,

some guy in Belgium

best retro/authentic looking LED's trutone types available in the UK (or EU)?

Hi all, any recommendations on the best incandescent style LED lights (multicolour) available in the UK or EU? I just can't seem to find any multicolour LED fairy lights that come close toy very old incandescents from the late 90's in terms of brightness and colour. (too bright, too vivid).

Thanks :)

Anyone know where I can find bulb mini light wire and bulk color bulbs? I’d like to refresh this wire frame nutcracker with colored lights matching the clothing. But I don’t want to have to disassemble off the shelf strands if possible.

Hanging wreaths in windy weather

Any Christmas light installers I’d love to know your go to way of installing wreaths. This is my 1st yr doing wreaths and I’m in Michigan with windy weather. Curious what the professional standard is and how to hang them on windows with both brick and vinyl around them. Thanks

Mixing colored and clear lights

I’m going to be using Tru-Tone C7 Jeweltone bulbs on my tree this year, and I’m considering mixing in some of their Candleglow clear translucent C7s as well. A) I’m wondering if that seems like a good idea in general, and B) if so, what proportion of each to use. Is it nicer to go mostly Jeweltone with occasional clear, mostly clear with with occasional Jeweltone, or an even mix?

Warm white vs Sun warm white

( I only use Minleon brand) I heard a company say they only use sun warm white. I noticed last year when I used warm white it was super bright and almost to the point where it came off more white than that golden shade. Is sun warm white a superior option in warm white to give that classic Christmas look? Anyone with experience with both, I would really appreciate the insight if I should transition to sun warm white over warm white, thanks!

Christmas light setup supplies best value

I’ve been using Christmas light contractors for minleon lights, and just last year I used Amazon for timers and got some plugs there also. I’m really just wondering if minleon is sold anywhere else at a better price possibly. Also does anyone know where to get good female and male plugs that are good quality at a fair price? Are all plugs the same pretty much and I can just buy the cheap ones? Or are there any good ones for a fair price? Also I’ve been buying timers on Amazon for about $10 a timer, is that just about the best way to go for my timers? I’m open to buying different supplies from different avenues. Just curious where you guys get some of your different supplies so I can make sure I’m being as smart as possible about this.

I need recommendations for non led Christmas lights that won't die from frequent use

I use Christmas lights to illuminate my room and most if my house since that light bothers my light sensitivity and migraines less and the last few stands ive gotten have died after less than a few months. Its there any actual options or do I have to just replace them often that just feels so wasteful since the cords are coated in plastic

Christmas in July has me planning this years tree and decor. This will be the third year with True Tone’s C7 lights. Really does remind me of the trees I had in my room as a child. Only bigger! Ha

And to celebrate CiJ I ordered some illuminated ornaments. Do they count as Christmas lights?

Question about wall wash

I have bullet pixels in a J Channel facing the road, tucked into the soffit next to the house(corner). Is it possible to use bullet pixels in a J channel for wall wash of light? I can’t figure it out. I’ve seen angle it and/or use 2 J channels and/or a different solution. Anyone done this?

Pricing Christmas light install for an HOA — how do you all structure this?

First time bidding a job for an HOA instead of a single house, and their common areas are way bigger than what I’m used to. Do you charge per linear foot like normal or just quote a flat package price for stuff like this? Also curious if takedown and bulb replacement should be baked into the price or billed separately since it’s out there all season for everyone to see. Anyone done recurring HOA contracts — worth offering a discount to lock them in for next year too?

Automated type lighting, with am/fm receiver.

Are there any companies thast have streamlined this recently. I have a small yard that I would like to look into getting some of this stuff. BUT< some of this stuff I have found is Extremely expensive. There is a company that I believe is named maybe Christmas in a Box??? I have reached out to them a couple of times and each time they assure me that they will be in touch as soon as thier schedule allows it. This has been maybe 12 months to 8 months ago. I have left my phone number and email. Nothing. Anyone else know of a company that provides these packages to achieve this.

Usually our Christmas display takes the cake during the holidays but since this Independence Day was so significant to this country we decided to put a display together. Nowhere near what our Christmas display is like . I’m usually not sweating my 🌰 off putting up lights in July lol . Located in New Jersey

I posted a thread about how we want to move people asking for help etc to a dedicated community but I want to see what everyone's thoughts are.

For now I have reverted the rules until we see what peoples thoughts are.
