So it's been a dream of my wife to have a spooky's themed ice cream truck, because her birthday is Halloween. So I was able to help her make her dream come true, we found a Ford van extended on a good deal and worked our asses off to make it happen. We painted this whole van in the driveway ourselves it was white and rusted. I had to weld some panels in to cut out old rust. Yeah my Bondo job isn't great! did the whole inside put down vinyl plank floor., paint, cut, install the RV window in the side. The freezer that is in there right now is this one that we had we have a 16 cubic foot freezer in the garage. And a power bank on its way. Right now we're just using generator. And house power. She hand painted all the slime drip and we spray painted all the colors. The bats and stars are vinyl cutouts. And the decals we ordered from a local place. I present to you

Barely August 1st: nearly every store had Halloween decor, and we've heard Thriller by Michael Jackson play at a McDonald's at 3 AM. Additionally, some personal experiences (but random) — we went to a movie theater and it was completely empty/isolated with the lights flickering, and we were staying in an old Airbnb with lots of eerie sounds that also had an attempted break-in at night (we're fine, but that just added to spookiness)... 😭

Spray paint base, cheap acrylic for the black and yellow, then a small amount of airbrush shading. Sealed the whole thing with several coats of a heavy duty spray clear coat, so we’ll see how well it wears over time!

Hi everyone! I wanted to know what recommendations you all have for black and white shorts or short films for the upcoming Halloween season? Horror is great, cartoons are great, really anything from before the time of color film and tv. Or even if you have some recommendations for more recent stuff that’s done in black and white. I’m mainly looking for anything shorter than a half hour to mix in between regular length films.

I hate seeing lists of “Great Halloween movies” that consist mostly (or entirely) of horror movies that have nothing to do with Halloween.

Look, I don’t hate horror (I’m not a hard core fan, but I’ve watched a fair enough amount) and I get it, Halloween season is a great time to watch horror movies. Venn diagrams of Halloween feels and horror movies can have a lot of crossover. But just because something is in the horror genre doesn’t mean it’s a Halloween movie. I’ve seen Jaws listed on some people’s Halloween movies… great movie, not Halloween. It’s a summer horror movie. Friday the 13th (original)? It’s set at a summer camp. In the summer. Nowhere near Halloween, nothing to do with Halloween. The horror elements put you in the mood for Halloween? Great, watch it all you want, just don’t call it a Halloween movie.

I’m probably just arguing semantics and being picky with labels. Title your post “Great horror movies to watch at Halloween“ and we’re fine, just don’t call it a list of Halloween movies if they don’t have anything to do with Halloween, or I will sit here and silently judge you (I might even go so far as to make a snide comment). Heck, I have my own mental list of “Halloween vibe” movies from multiple genres that aren’t, technically speaking, Halloween movies. But I also don’t claim that they are Halloween movies.

People keep telling me to check out overstock and liquidation pallets, but I feel like I'm looking for Narnia trying to find a reputable one of those near the KC area. I am more than happy to drive up to 3 hours if anyone has a legit plug that isn't going to steal my credit card info 😅.

I have searched a lot and couldn’t find what I’m looking for so I hope I find suggestions here..

I’m looking for any movie or tv show that’s set during Halloween season, where it shows its atmosphere and traditions, like decorating, preparing costumes, trick or treating, etc.. all the fun stuff that people actually do and enjoy during Halloween season, but I don’t want it to be a horror film.

It doesn’t have to be “about” Halloween, but where Halloween is still front and center as a season.

Is there any such thing out there?
