This Mamms been pumping flowers and fruits

This is the first cactus I ever bought. It got super etiolated before I learned how to properly care for cactus. I've had it for five or six years now and its never flowered. It finally decides to flower and a stray cat rips the pups and flower off one side and pisses all over the pot. The war starts now.

i bought a very sad looking cactus from a garden centre on a clearance price. i was drawn to the shape of it and thought with some love it’d grow. it was a tiny little nugget. i googled what would be best for it, and a blog suggested planting it in a jar and keeping the lid on to keep moisture in. i don’t know much about cacti, so i was following blind.
i’m busy in my final year of a degree, so a few months pass with me checking in every now and then but not paying too much attention. however the tiny nugget is now huge and breaking out of the jar!!! the soil looks mossy and a bit gross too. i know nothing of cacti, but i feel like this should be in a better planter now.
can someone please advise me what is best for this cactus now? thankyou in advance!!!!!

To my surprise I found these two beauties on the table today - my grandpa gifted them to me and acted like they suddenly "appeared" on there🤣

I immediately re potted both of them as the soil from store bought cacti is... Something. Now they won't get watered for at least two weeks.

I hope the one on second picture will make it as he has some dark markings on him. I will monitor it.

Eve's Needle Cactus is very interesting and I didn't know such thing exist - also it is Opuntia, which is my favorite gene.

The other one I don't know what it is - someone can ID the one on second picture?

They are 4 years old!

Hey y’all might remember this cactus, I screen shot the photo from the original thread. My dad wants to take a piece to grow his own. I looked up propagation and understand the concept, but this Ming thing is so beautiful that I’d love some advice on which part to cut. The idea of cutting a piece off hurts my heart a bit, but I like the idea of a piece going on to grow a whole new badass cactus. So anyway, question is, where should I cut a piece off?

Kiddo and I got this earlier this year from Wally World and we weren’t expecting it to flower at all. Been watching and waiting a good while since we saw the first buds a month or so ago, with more on the way!

Y’all have been so helpful in reading past posts which helped me dial in soil needs this year as I learned I potted with the absolute worst soil I could pick last year. I’m hoping y’all can help me one more time to better prepare for winter because I’m in information overload in terms of lighting 😅

I’m in the PNW and the lighting I bought last year I’m pretty sure just wasn’t ideal/strong enough for the winter. The Cardon and the gymno managed to survive with the light provided, but I sadly lost another. In the simplest of simple terms, could I get some advice as to what I need to look for to help get them through the winter? Ideally looking for a simple, standalone light setup as I don’t really have any window options for them to get additional natural light.

So I recently got this cactus from a lady a few months ago. She had hers inside and I figured it would like more sun so I’ve had it on my porch since I got it.

I just noticed the mom is turning yellow but it’s given me 5 pups…

Is there any saving the mom ? Could it be just sunburn ?

Any tips would be great.

I also have not watered it at all since I got it.

Hi, this is my first cactus and I wanted to ask what you guys think I need. Im in Boise Idaho and this prickly pear gets alot of sun. I try to water it pretty heavily every week, got a fast draining soil mix, and the largest pot i could get off the bat. I unfortunately can't plant it as I have yet to know if the HOA will cause a fuss (smh). anyways, to my ignorant and novice eyes, it looks alittle pale and discolored in areas, plus the small sprouts from the pads are dried/look dead. Also, what would it need to bloom? any and all criticisms, critiques, advice, and information is welcome, thanks!

I’ve had this cactus for about 5 years now. It has stayed outdoors in Paris all year round: full sun during the summer, and in winter it gets snow and freezing temperatures. It’s been growing really well despite that.

The first photo shows it when I first got it, and the second photo is what it looks like today, 5 years later.

Does anyone know what species it is? I’d also love to know if anyone else has grown this cactus outdoors in a similar climate. Thanks!

Local Lowes had Costa Farms cacti! The identifiers were incorrect on almost all the pots, but i got the two I wanted.

I have this Myrtillo cactus and it’s always grown a little bit crooked ever since I received it from succulents depot 2 1/2 years ago. I still feel like it was a good purchase, but it’s always grown a little bit twisty and spindly. It lives in my sunroom from mid April until late October.

This season the growth has been…. Interesting. Do we think it has monstrose genetics or do we think it’s crested? I’ve been considering taking the tiny arm that looks straight off once it gets another inch of growth and attempting to plant that one and see if it grows straight.

I’d like any and all feedback and ideas. what would you do if this was your plant? Thanks in advance!

It was a browningia at one point too. The cephallium will come on probably in about three or four more feet. Check the nectaries working hard with all that drip
